Brake Caliper Rebuild
Only early JDM cars had ally calipers. all UK and later JDM cars had the cast calipers. i dont see much point in buying more calipers to rebuild.... just rebuild your own. if you do need some front calipers and want ones that wont need a rebuild then I will be taking a pair of later cast ones of Bobgenies slicktop very soon. They are from a 1995 car and are in good order. Naturally i will check them before offering them for sale.

slicktop project
Slightly better news today on the paint situation. It looks like the lacquer robot remembered to put some lacquer on the headlight area. Pity the lazy git didnt pop his inane robotic arm into the engine bay. 60 seconds of lacquer spray in 1995 would have saved me a day and a half of work now:taz: Enough ranting!!! I have been out to buy some Nissan QN0 white pearl base coat and I WILL be putting enough on AND lacqer on top. Its only £16 for 250ml:w00t: Before I put it down on its wheels I fitted the adjustable top arms. Pics.... Enjoy need to make some space in the workshop now before I push it in for painting.

Help!
If you use an NA pedal and master cylinder then that gives a reasonable pedal I am running that set up on a RPS Max street clutch(TT fly) I believe the fulcrum/leverage is different to the TT. I cant comment about the TT pedal with no assistance.

Emerald engine management on a Z32!
Well it looks like we have a TT Emerald car coming soon. Or maybe two:scared: Work to commence on this soon. John is going to do most of the install for the owner so we can get the car rolling roaded and establish a known working base map for others to use. Its a forum member too so once its up and running you will probably get some pics and figures. Needs to remain confidential for now tho. im sure the owner will make himself known when its on the go. I simply cant find anytime to progress my own NA install ATM due to "other work" Basic kit prices are in the area we first mentioned. NA just under £1000. TT just over.

slicktop project
Cheers Allan. As "older members" Bob and me are looking to create something a little more subtle and understated than the normal modded 300ZX. im happy to be associated with this car and Bob is easy to get on with. He has a vision/goal and a decent budget/expectation of the costs/time involved. i love being left to get on with it in my own time and to create that subtle "function over form" concept. There will be a little Chrome appearing tho later:punk: Just to add a little highlight or two but Im also incorporating some powder coated stuff in the smooth OEM look style.

slicktop project
Well its Monday again and time to get a bit more done. I hit an annoying issue today as I was cleaning up the engine bay. It looks like the Nissan robot that sprayed the engine bay only put one thin pass of base coat on it and then cleared off on a tea break cos when I started to clean the inner wings the paint literally dissolved off with Cif spray!! However it will all turn out good as Bob has given me the go ahead to paint the engine bay and treat the whole job as if it was my car. So.... Im going to strip it all out then pop the shell in the workshop for a nice shiney white paint job.... then Im going to repace all the crapppy Nisan bolts and tacky clips with proper stainless stuff. Its going to be a PITA to do but Im confident the end result will be good! (it had better be or Im in trouble:2guns:) On the positive side... absolutely no damage and no rust except under the battery tray due to acid spill. meanwhile I have sidetracked Bob and sent him off to order MORE goodies from Z1!! I love spending other peoples money:smartass::whistling: Pics of the paintwork.... not impressed by Nissan quality here at all.:hammer:

Nut size?
Exactly. I measured the stud with some vernier calipers before posting.......:surrender:
-
engine weight ?
That one with four feet is essential IMO. Three footed job no good for an engine as wide as a V6. On a separate note I will be listing an NA engine for sale in top order. Its a late spec one like your car with later injectors. Im flexible on what is included and also on price. Eng is from Bobgenies slicktop project car. Delivery possible. PM me if you want to discuss .

My Zed.
Yes I forgot to mention them on Sunday. Fronts too:thumbdown:
-
Nut size?
10mm on the NA. TT prob the same on stock manifolds

Bad news on the compression test...
We have some good knowledgable people on here who know about TT engines. Since Im not one I will keep quiet. But it dont look good:ohmy:
-
Bad news on the compression test...
what does he mean by low. What is 45% down.... Down from what?? Has you got a full set of correctly numbered compression figures.?? without them its difficult to know what actually is wrong.
-
whats the story behind your username?
Err im not sure how I got mine:whistling: But six years later its still the same.

What would you do?
Its not stunning ...yet. But it is a very tidy example. I have just seen it today. It will be stunning when Daffy has got all his plans in place for it. Its going to be manual. no doubt about that. It needs tatrgas like I need nuclear fallout on my garden. Please dont use swearwords on the forum:lol::lol:

Who`s this?? what`s he doing?
Could it be Andy duff at his new workshop on the day the rent was due???

New clutch advice
Well that will make a difference. Cos he could now have a mildly uprated TT clutch fitted to that.

New clutch advice
FYI Daffy will be using an NA set up he has just got from Bobgenie. In the interests of keeping costs moderate I suggested using the NA flywheel which is in good condition and adding an uprated clutch to take stock TT power. So clutch suggestions required based on expeience.
