  1. Makes a big difference a proper alignment after driving on crap settings.
  2. Indeed. To confuse things Hammerites range of anti rust stuff such as "underbody seal" contains Waxoyl. Hence where the confusion arrives. Waxoyl tends to be used as a brand name but it's not.
  3. It's from a breakers yard, I'm guessing some one told him NA diffs are worth money but he's unaware that the rest of it is required as it's diff only. But yeah that kinda can't actually sell.
  4. There's definitely better available these days but as Si says applied properly it's not a bad product. The pros for it are it's available off the shelf and reasonably priced and works. Con, it's not as technically advanced as others. Anything that prevents moisture and oxygen getting at the metal is better than nothing or damaged 25+ year old stuff. Builthamber and Dintrol are highly rated but mail order only and not cheap. I've chosen to use Builthamber but I've used Waxoyl stone chip in the past. Actually I have the disgusting Waxoyl tar like stuff on top the stone guard behind my subframe four triple protection.
  5. Well it's raining today so no after work car fun. I did however recieve my successful charity application for a local Half Marathon, which will be my first with a view to do a full next year. It seemed like good idea at the time...
  6. That will be the factory under seal. Plenty of alternatives available. You can by Wayoxl stone chip which can be sprayed on that's pretty good, not to be confused with normal Waxoyl which is like a tar that never really dries.
  7. The wastegate side looks tiny. I wouldn't run them personally, some people have had success with Chinese turbos but considering the headache changing a turbo on these cars it's a big risk. Why not get some t25/28 hybrids made up, genuine Garrett parts and not too expensive.
  8. I purchased some caps that go over the battery terminals for this very reason, my negative was a right pain and could work loose.
  9. Haha, it will be alright. I'm chipping away at it, I surprising what you can do in 3 hour bursts between feeds
  10. Cheers Russ, people say it's life changing. I've come to the conclusion it's simply more of the same, there's never been enough hours in the day and I'm always tired. Now there's less time and I'm more tired. I've just purchased some Builthamber Dynax S50, that will do nicely for the chassis rails and front cross member. Be interesting to see how far a can goes really. I also picked up some Gunk to clean a portion of the under side I didn't under seal last winter and apply new Shultz. Back bumper off next. Assembly wise the radiator etc is back in and only the front bumper is missing from the front. Still got to sort out the intercooler ducts and splitter. Although I may end up with a 99 front end, we shall see. I've gotta save for a new kitchen and a new bumper won't make the car any faster/better, just looks nice.
  11. Things are great mate, car is running a dream and is having some more winter love. I'm strapped for time but chipping away at things. This should bring you upto date; http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?186561-2017-Winter-Works
  12. Russ is the king of autobox problems, too stubborn to go manual though.
  13. I was getting worried about you my old fruit, glad your on the mend.
  14. Loving the KFC sign Bri when did you get that?
  15. I always thought your car was an NA, dunno why.
  16. Give it another few weeks and the increase in fuel price will be a disaster, I can see the Gardian now "Brexit drives up fuel prices" totally ignoring the fact it was £1.50+ a litre not long back.
  17. I spose arguably how long has, I won't call it true news but regulated news been a feature. Thinking back to even to the propoganda of the 50s (justified or not) the press is still pretty unregulated. Celebrity gossip for example is mostly fabricated tripe. Any one with two brain cells must source check and fact check the information provided really. There seems to have been a complacency that's developed where by the public except the papers publish facts and that the papers believe thier "facts" too.
  18. Not one I'd normally drag up but is anyone else getting rather tired of certain media outlets, in particular the BBC and C4's obsession with so called fake news or the "post truth era" whatever the hell that is. They wang on like they are the only providers of truth, C4s tag line of "the home of real news" strikes my mind. It all ignores a simple fact, media, wether private or state funded exists for an adgenda, be that capital or capatol(see what I did there :D). Basically the facts have never stood in the way of the end game. That could be The Loch Ness Monster or the announcement that bacon makes you 300xs more likely to get cancer. Hazey facts and tortured stats are what media are all about. So maybe these lot need to get off there high horse. Maybe they need to realise we all already know they're full of BS half the time and we can see that the underlying intention is to save the neck of the printed press who are loosing to a growing didgital press. This is supposed to be a discussion, so no bashing people's ideas please. No attempts to turn it into some crazy hysterical conclusions. Thoughts anyone?
  19. Happy returns mate, hope you've given yourself the day off.
  20. Don't doubt it, also looked perfectly sensible picking the kids up from school. I'm only messing cos I'm anti hatch.
  21. I just wouldn't part with money for a French car.
  22. Says a lot when people are prepared to part with that kinda cash for would of been scrap a few years back.
