  1. Some good points here. What I'd like to highlight and agree with even if we voted in different ways is "no one knows". Not me, not you or the next guy. Not expert A B or C. It's virgin ground. There's lots of very loud voices claiming x y and z, most of these people have strong adgendas either way. Be that they are bigoted funkwits who want rid of Johnny forginerer or greedy capitalists who are very much enjoy exploiting cheap EE labour. There are valid reasons for in and out, many need to remember their view or opinion is just that. We as a democracy had a chat about it, made a choice and our government are upholding it. That's a positive regardless of your choice.
  2. Jimmy crankie
  3. Honesty knowing the Spanish position the Scots as a breakaway state will find joining very difficult, equally the economy there will suffer greatly as the Euro will be inforced as a condition of membership, look at any of the similar sized economies in Europe for that result and ask any EU national what the switch to the EU did to thier cost of living.
  4. Roll your sleeves up and make it a success or sit about moaning, those are the only choices now. I did a lot of reading and a lot of thinking before I cast my vote, I tried to convince myself to go against my gut but I kept coming back to my original thoughts. The coverage was and still is abysmal from both sides, the impartiality of the BBC, Christ... really? I can categorically state, I'm educated, I'm young and not a rasict. I also wasn't duped by anyone. I voted out because I feel that Britain is economically and socially, in the long run going to be better of as an independent nation state able to decide its own law. The UK and EU are very different to what they were when we joined and current tie to what I believe is a failing Eurozone is not conducive to a successful Britain. We're definitely on untested ground but as they say fortune favours the brave. If you think it's going obbe all roses your deluded but imo this was a band aid that needed ripping off. As we say here "who's afear'd".
  5. Technically there's nothing legally concrete that stops them pulling a U Turn, this has been said by the EU today. So it's not as concrete as some would say. Sadly the SNP, particularly Sturgoen have one adgenda and will use anything to push it and to hell with the rest of us. Brexit is a convienient tool to them currently and tbh they have May over a barrel with it. Thankfully for them it distracts from their actual performance as a government, that's a separate issue though I spose.
  6. I've got some fusch's titan which is marketed as a competitor oil to the Redline, only cheaper. The Mobil oil in there leaves things a bit tight on cold start. Haven't got round to the switch yet though, so can't review it.
  7. I was hoping to book in some track time, japfest sells out quick.
  8. I think personally that a subtly modified car that hasn't taken too much away from the original will be worth more. Obviously it's all subjective but I don't think we're anywhere near the realms of non standard wheels and steep hurting resale values. If on the other hand you've gone silly and fitted a full fibreglass body kit, painted it flip pink/purple with crazy interior with ice install then your market and subsequently your value will suffer. I would value yours higher than a bone stock car in similar condition. Your mods haven't taken anything from the car merely added to it. Certainly apply the logic to American cars and so called "super muscle" cars are worth big money esp if the right parts and tuner are involved.
  9. I've been toying with it, was it busy?
  10. She's looking good Terry.
  11. Not to change the oil. There's a drain and a fill plug and I would highly recommend you check the fill plug undoes before draining or you will have a whole new problem.
  12. I could do with one of those!
  13. My local Nissan dealer (is in Toyota) have made it quite clear that they aren't aware or particularly interested in my non skyline classic Nissan.
  14. I've test fitted a stillen to my own car that belonged to someone else and yeah fitnebt is indeed amazing.
  15. Agreed, the mouse hole ones and vikside look crap. Although the ones on Daves car somehow work. Stillen, or rather copies of are what I intend to fit. The twinz ones are nice but I'm not paying for them. I don't like the way the vast majority have no swageline, it's like the designers never looked at the Z32 properly before making them. The Gracer (I think) looks good, except the swage line absence which ruins it. The similar one the petticoat (I always mix these two up) is not nice. I'd consider a Gracer in urethane if it fell in my lap so to speak but it's the 99 I want and they don't come up second hand much at all these days.
  16. I think the skirts really add to the car tbf, exposed rocker sills like that are very old fashioned. Even similar aged cars have a better profile here. I've already cut and repaired that area on one side, the others pretty good, I'm not so worried about it. It's more something to watch than fear out right.
  17. Anyone fitted one of CarMads 99 copies?
  18. No, at least his cars blue. This cars even red. It's Gaz.
  19. Nothing Andrew, that part of the issue. The change is purely cosmetic. I'd like it to sit lower to match the side skirts and that's easier/better end product with the 99. The other option, which I like is a Stillen lip, at that point me and a local member would be twins...
  20. How sensible are Fibreglass bumpers? I've only ever lived with urethane or metal. Urethane has its obvious advantages, being virtually indestructible, however it's drawback is cost and availability. The reason I'm asking is I'm sorely tempted to fit a replica FG 99 spec. I know someone's going to say buy an OE one but the cost is not something I can justify, remember it's not just bumper it's the indicators, shipping, tax etc etc. Quite a chunk for something 100% cosmetic. Where as I can sort myself out with a fibreglass version for about half. Finding a used 99 is the obvious answer but when the average post for little everyday parts in the wanted section goes unresolved or even unanswered it's a greased unicorn. So thoughts and experiences. Will I regret it as I smash it to pieces in a months time rolling down the driveway as it shatters like sugar glass or is it just a case of if I have a bump the damage will be worse (however easily repaired).
  21. The modification to get it to work with the ECU tricks the car into thinking it's in gear. The 15btdc is activated on manuals by a neutral position switch, without it you get 20btdc at idle.
  22. It's not an automatic converted to manual by any chance?
  23. Iirc you can remove some bits off the turbo, water lines, then use a socket on a long extension. Pretty sure I took them off with the manifolds complete last time. As suggested plenty of penetrant and heat. That snapped bit is going to be fun. Have you tried soaking it in penetrant then hitting it with a drift. You may find it ejects it backwards out the hole. I have a set from Machine Mart that allows you to use the Allen bits as a ratchet, that's what you want.
  24. I have a feeling they are half inch Lee, there's some imperial stuff round there due to the Garret turbos. Makes your realise why removal with the engine in is a pita.
  25. My ex's brother in law had one of these in black. Hit some cow shit in it and it ended up on the driveway getting covered in overspray from the fields either side until is was just scrap metal. That was about 10 years ago. Bet he is kicking himself now.
