  1. hard to work out what your on about, but i agree why rebuild the na when you could rebuild a tt for very little extra. i assume what you mean is, can you bolt turbos onto the na engine and tt it later. in which case the answer is sort of no. the compression ratios etc are different better to start with a tt block etc
  2. thats a fair shout so are you having to send it back to the states?
  3. thats the current issue ian as obvioulsy with a run out weather is a big factor, so im keeping a close eye on this. if you were intending on popping over for this i could meet you at location on your side of the water to make things simpler just let me know. :)
  4. i cant see how that would have left the factory like that thats a serious quality control issue so must have failed after. i dunnow hat could have caused it overheating? forgin object but im damn sure its not cool.
  5. right route map (roughly obviously) is below. roads are as follows, ferry road swanage b3351, spurring off down ulwell road. through swanage onto the a351, spurring onto the b3069 rejoining the a351. the a351 is followed along until sanford where we pick up the b3075. to finish where it meets the a31 at the worlds end pub. there are some awesome streches of road throughout this route, hairpined hills, long clear hill top passes etc etc a quick google of the route will soon show. the ferry should you choose to use it at the beginning is £3.50 every 20 minutes after 7am. in my opinion the earlier the better, this will reduce the quing potential for the ferry and make more clearer roads, pesky tourists will sleep be in bed. the long term wetaher forecast is atm shite! so il be keeping an eye on this. enjoy.
  6. just have to start stripping it apart and see how bad it actually is under the bent metal and glass etc. it may not be too bad, ie mostly cosmetic. good luck.
  7. i agree when i brought mine what 3 years back now theyre were loads to choose from. i was shocked how many i could buy for around a grand and a half. i set out with a budjet of 4 and ended up spending 2.5 on onethat had just had a blow over etc etc. fairly recent import. now there sees to be none and id be forking out my 4 to get the same standard. there arnt that many for sale full stop. its good news
  8. been trawling recently, just being nosey as we all do, and i dunno about the rest of you but ive noticed a severve reduction in the amount of 1000-1500 zeds. infact to find a tt under 1k now seems to require buying one someones broken. and the average price for a half decent example is around 3.5 to 4 at present. it may be premarture, and also you have to take into account are these cars selling, blah blah. but i think what we are seeing a slight rise in zed prices. guess we shall have to keep watching this space, but it does have to happen at some point the dross will all get scrapped and the quality will shine through with a higher price :)
  9. one of the nicest on sale atm. i think.
  10. stuff like this does seem very very daunting, esp when you do take the plunge take the cutting disc to it and find even more which is ussually the case. i remeber poking a 50p rust patch on my capri an hour later i had half the sill cut off, and was hacking into the inner sill. :( knocked up the new sill at work on the press. then welded it all together and painted it all up. its the same as any body work prep is 90% and it will look far wporse before it gets better. mines not showing any signs of getting like this yet, but i know it will happen, and i will go down this route. I AM HOWEVER NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.
  11. what makes me angry is they have more cash than il ever have and they are thick talentless wonders. unfair!
  12. if it was a skyline there is not much point in anything but a gtr in my mind, an r33 gtst or whatever its called the one that has a very simular spec engine to the gtr but is rear wheel drive is in my opinion just an ugly version of a zed. the gtrs awd being its advantage. s15s are lovely to look at but the 200sx was and still is imo a less powerfull more everyday friendly version of the zed. its the rs4 to the r8 if you get my annology. MURT! get some pics up of your s15 i want to see it! lol
  13. thats also what ive heard, i cant give your personal experience on vg engine building or fitting of those parts, i think you need to have the block rebored to accept the larger wiescos.i could be wrong there though. however ive ordered plently of bike parts from the us and it can work out a hell of alot cheaper, however you can get stung by import tax and unless your saving a hell of alot it may not be worth it, the key is to order everything in one load and get one load of tax and one postage. my old frame was £370 here but only $300 that combined with some savings on forks and bits and bobs i ended up spend about £500 to my door instead of over a thousand.
  14. il sort the final details this week gaz, sun would be a great help and certainly the short term forecast is shite! ive plotted a proper route now which obviously we can change should we recon theres a better one etc. hows everything going your end bud?
  15. i asked this a few weeks back got no response. i beleive someone was saying they had theirs corner weighted the other week.
  16. keep this in mind guys its a goer!
  17. If it still has the reg it was given in the uk and you remember it you can search the car via the british dvla website. It will at least inform you if the car is still registered
  18. im looking at doing my interior as a summer project. the main thing im cautious of is the suitability of the adhesive, ive heard of horror stories of people doing it and it peeling off in the next sunny day, infact ive seen it happen. :( ive tried searching and looking but sod all just conflicting opinions on 3m products, so who can tell me what a good product is to use. while im on the subject retrimming in leather is obviously very expensive and laboursome. vynal seems a better choice, how strechy/crease resistant is the stuff. ive used self adeshive vynal on my roof bars etc which with a hairdryer was great stuff.
  19. whoooooop! whoop! just in time for summer.
  20. possibly/possibly not if its a cold engine, is this for the zed? i could have swore they were a metric size 14/16mm something along those lines?
  21. Take a look in south central mate we have a meet coming up :)
  22. oh right, thats great i was always worried the skirts would sit lower than the bumper.
  23. can a mod please change the tittle of this thread to upcoming south central mini meet and cruise. date tbc.
  24. right ive been looking at some road maps etc and i think a great route that would give us some fun twisties long empty straights etc and great senery would be to take a path from studland to swanage, through to corfe via langton matravas. then on towards wareham through wareham forset out to winterborne zeston. there is a pub there at the end og a loverly national speedlimit a road. i will be posting up a map once i can work out the exact route. i wont be planning on gunning it the whole way but there will be plenty of opertunities for those nice quick a/b road action :) date to be confirmed but obviously good wetaher will help loads. get a few piccies get out and use the damn things and a good old chit chat while the engines cool. ideally it will be an early start to allow easy crossing on the ferry from this end. any route deviations or points of interest that you would like to add on etc etc feel free to contribute should be a good day.
  25. Suspended for a week or so, il put up more details tonight route etc etc.
