  5. yeah ive actually been toying with the idea of having him do it if he doesnt charge the earth, as he has all the stuff to do it and il know its done correctly. ive done a compression test on teh block fairly recently, however id like to do a leakdown just to be sure. dont wanna break it now do i lol. whilst were on the subject boost gauges of the aftermarket varitey, is there much variation in quality?
  6. i take it this picture is for lhd? as my boost sensor is on the left side.

  13. thought id update this and let you all see whats been going on in my reef. well things started to get a bit over grown with one particular coral my large magnificanca anemone overgrowing teh tank. it hit over 2 feet in diameter so it was time to hoof it out. you can see the growth from the last pic. so the rather annoying and brave task had tio be taken and half a day later we ended up going through this. which with some clever hidden supports produced this a little coral seeding later takes us to here. since january those little blighters have done some serious growing these were taken this eve.
  14. Ohm the injector, check your get spark plus fuel. If your getting both, compression test. If you have compression, fuel and a spark its merley not happening at the correct time.
  15. Welcome to our world bournemouth and pooles surrounding areas are crawling. They have a zero tolerance policy scheme, and have gone from one of worst conviction rztes to one of the highest. They seem to be totally possessed with catching speeders atm. I got caught at 98m doing 40mph, just past the 30 sign where it had been reduced from national. Unmarked car, behind a bush in a layby. Piss take. The corse cost me a 100 fine, its now 120. There was no average age sex etc, just the fact most had been done just over the limit. I was told at the roadside, if I didnt like it and thought it was off, I should take them to court. Cos were gonna do that!
  16. 30degrees and raining at work, in the pool lol
  17. i wouldnt piss about costly mistake if it goes wrong, any n/a auto rad will do if you use a manual rad you will need an external box cooler. obviously a straight forward na auto rad would be best.
  18. as above it can be done but a better job can be done out the car. often its quicker by the time youve pissed about in cramp confinded spaces with rusty bolts. the passenger side to my mind looks easy but the drivers side.........
  19. Ive heard and read about it to. But the general concensas was as groover said, if you look at the intake angles its already opening up to max. And forcing it to.open more will cause resistance.
  20. fleet isnt too far from me atm but im otherwise engauged tonight. and my zed is stored up about 30 miles away from my current location :(
  21. just got hold of a set of these, test fitted last night and they fitted nicely. however i was wondering what the torque settings should be on the nuts im assuming they will be the same as teh standard wheel nuts? which i also dont know what it is i just do them up tight lol. but obviously im thinking that not torquing things like this up properly can infact make a weaker join.
  22. my zed now costs sod all to insure but a fiesta would cost me £450 a year....
  23. two ways to tell generally dave, as these are two things that often dont get done. firstly people dont tend to replace the alternator harness, so on the inner wing near where the hicas is located two empty connected are there. most people with manuals dont bother to delete that stupid looking hard bleed line, so if its absent..... its possible its a conversion if its a jspec there will be a redundant switch on the centre consol, for power/hold. (unless its been changed) alot od people also dont tend to replace the brake pedal just cut it down so by removing the rubber you would be able to tell. but in reality if its done properly you wpouldnt ever notice if you werent looking for it. and the car may well be a tad quicker to accelarate due to the diff tubs and cams to reduce the lag.
  24. Manuals are rarer and more desirable. I would say on average 700~1000 maybe more is asked for. I reasoned with myself that on this basis, my auto was worth converting Being an auto it would be worth around 2/500ish and probally 3.5k a manual. I wouldnt let it go for less than 4k though after this summers work is done.
