  1. Well it can only be leaking round the joints, and there are only three on each side. Process of elimination, you can always get an assistant to pop something over of the tail pipes to increase the restriction and increase the obviousness of the leak.
  2. So basically you've created more work for poor old jimmer being over enthusiastic on the skidpan haha. Where was that? always fancied taking mine on a skid pan nice safe environment to learn to control it better.
  3. They seem to have disappeared, maybe they are out of stock, however they were 300 delivered a while back, anyone else think these are the same intercoolers being sold directly from china? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TWIN-TURBO-SIDE-MOUNT-BOLT-ON-INTERCOOLER-FOR-1990-1996-NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-3-0L-V6-/251285604759?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a81ca0997
  4. Interestingly they are also the ones sold by 2fast2cool on ebay.
  5. They will be japspeed then, if you look closely on this catback he sells you can see the japspeed logo on the outlet. http://www.zcentre.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.pbv.tpl&product_id=51&category_id=55&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=7
  6. But then isn't a corsa with 800bh fun noel? :)
  7. The above part is the divorce section to stop the gasses mixing from the waste gate. It will work better with it, but I doubt it will cause issues without. As for the fitment mines the same it only just catches on the gearbox mounting bracket. Japspeeds by any chance?
  8. How did the day go for both teams? any photos? Brands will probably be the easiest event for me to get to this year, what sort of price does it cost to spectate for the day?
  9. wanna have some fun, oh that's just wrong.
  10. Yeah he had a tt auto.
  11. should be able to pinpoint it quite easy.
  12. I got around to fitting my bargain £30 whiteline 35mm lowering spring to rear, to see if it drop it any further, guess what no lol. :( still got a 20mm gap between the tyre face and the arch!
  13. didn't you say in another thread the o2s are still out?
  14. Performance numbers etc grab the attention of the people which gets them interested so I think its a great idea bud. this picture might help you with the different zed models. Its not the clearest, and I've got plans where that's concerned. Anyways....
  15. o2's fail pretty regularly for some, and as a result a lot of people just don't bother. iirc they only do anything at the lower part of the rev range? I might be mistaken there though. Glad you got the old ones off though.
  16. I would trust a sub 1k 300ZX as far as I could push it, it's just one of those cars that you'd never expect to find in those brackets. I didn't know about the classic insurance though! That has certainly skewed things in its favour. Can you suggest any good insurers? (I have no points or crashes to my name, so insurance is always rather kind, in that respect). Footman James is who I'm with but there's affair few, search insurance and you will soon find all the most popular ones. One thing I am curious about, that could probably be sorted without its own thread is the throttle response on the ZX. I found my friends n/a a bit lethargic when it came to the loud pedal. I figured that without any turbo chargers or anything, the reponse would be immediate as it opened but it did seem like it was sticking a bit. It could very well just be that he has a sticky throttle but I wondered if lethargic throttles was just how it is? Throttle response can be poor if not set up correctly, the z engine has a throttle position sensor, these often get set wrong etc, and other issues. There is very little lag with the turbo versions, esp if you decatt, mine comes on boost under 2krpm Between the N/A and TT, it will require thinking about. I have always stood by the motto 'it's easier to turbo a manual than to manual a turbo' (having built a couple of manual Lexus Soarers, it is indeed true haha) and as I have seen, Manual Turbo 300ZX's are pretty thin on the ground. Converting an auto to manual is pretty common mine is in fact yes you guessed it, a converted auto. It can be done within a weekend easily, it could be done in a long day if you had the right helping hands and tools average cost for a conversion kit is 300 to 500 quid bare in mind there other consumables you could do with friction disc etc, converting a non turbo into a twin turbo is quite time consuming and rarely cost effective, its more common in the states and oz but yeah its quite involved. The engines arn't the same, theres quite a compression ratio drop on the tt for starters, its certainly not bolt on. Not to mention flywheel and clutch, rear diff, its so much easier and cheaper to start with a car that was twinturbo from factory.
  17. ebay UK bang £20 :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/90-96-NISSAN-300ZX-Z32-2-X-DOOR-ARMREST-COVER-black-st-/350445829961?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item519832ff49 - - - Updated - - - damn read further that's only the leather cover. :(
  18. That was linked earlier I think? $90 odd ouch.
  19. The two on the turbo? You have to remove the whole front pipe this will give you better access to the four bolts, the top two will have to be accessed from behind, a uj and a socket should get on there with some careful placement, once you work out the right spot its easy. The worst part is making sure they come off without snapping the stud etc, so a good overnight soak in wd or another penetrating liquid is paramount.
  20. Haha oh you just wait till you go out in a turbo one then, common misconception that, whole big heavy and vague thing, should be tight responsive and hella quick. Na are pretty nippy esp 0-40 because of the gearing but a TT is a fair bit faster. If your serious about for filling your childhood dream, then I would suggest you spend some time on here getting to know the marque, you've got a fairly active region in wales so get to know some of those guys, I'm sure they will take you for a spin. Hopefully the club will throw up a car or will allow you a second pair of eyes, there are bargains to be had however you do often get what you pay for. If you budgeted £3500 that should buy you a decent turbo model, if you go for a sub £1000 bargain be prepared to throw at least another £1000 at it, hence why I say aim for a £3500 car. If you run it as a second car, classic insurances policies are now available and you could pay as little as £150 a year. Welcome to the club.
  21. Haha I've gotta pop over to Blandford to help greg fairly soon anyway, so if your in I'll pop in and see you anyways rob. Haven't seen you since last year!
  22. What happened to the carbon bonnet? its looking good mark, so much better than with the white wheels and the front mount. Really up my alley, aside from the stickers down the side :P please don't matt vynal wrap this car!
  23. Does anyone know how they do fit? just hang over? velco what? cant be screwed surely as there isn't a hole available is there :S
  24. Just thought id point out....that "370" isn't. its a photograph of one of the prototype 380 designs. Also 0-60 for our car is closer to 5.5, in fact at the time one of the glossy's managed to get a time of 5.2! just thought id point these bits out. looks good though mate, and I really applaud your efforts in getting this event going with the club. have some rep.
  25. Cheers guys at least I now know what I'm looking for, fortunately I've got plenty of time to wait around for a pair, I'm not desperate for them so I'll keep my eyes peeled, if anyone spots them on a breaker let me know so I can mosey on over and vulture haha.
