  1. Trust me if you were blating it around the a roads at 10pm with the targas off the motivation would be fully restored lol
  2. Exactly that a lot of these engines are a bit tapery when cold, once warm they quieten right down again.
  3. I've got baileys I think mark has to. Bailey are pretty recognised brand esp in the ford world so you can know they're a half decent quality product, not made of cheap alloy that will corrode next week.
  4. It's really getting some love this shell isn't it. I'm sure it's going to turn out really nicely mate.
  5. It used to be a gorgeous cherry red swb one of the best around.
  6. It's possible something could be done with an rb gearbox and transmission system as internally the boxes are pretty similar. Personally if I was building something along those lines it would be a pure toy and therefore would have to be rwd. Mid mounting sounds the best option but for me it would have to be fr format. You not enjoying your r35 enough then?
  7. Correct, the auto changes smooth and fast and they don't vent during its changes. Only when you go from open the closing throttling.
  8. It only causes a brief over fuel between boosted gear changes. The car comes with dumps from factory, they are just recirculating ones rather than astmospheric ones therefore silent. The advantage of the stock ones is that they help to keep the turbos spooling during gear change. In the real world you are unlikely to notice any side effects negative or positive.
  9. Why can I never find the k&n ones for a decent price, I have seen them on sale for like £250! Wtf?
  10. Trying some wyns sticky lifter treatment, and top up your oil. There's only 3.5 litres in the system when full, if you have it down to the bottom of the dipstick that's a litre short, just 2.5litres of oil not very good.
  11. Don't quote me on it but you will process more air at a set psi. If that is the case then on boost the car would run lean even at 9psi. If it was me I wouldn't boost at all until I knew for certain it was correct.
  12. Did you do the targa inlay that looks a royal pita
  13. Stephen replied to Spin Doctor's topic in Events - UK
I'm not going to say defiantly yes, because next year the house will be a time and focus pig aswel as money pit. However I think it sounds great and if I can I very we'll may.
  14. Get it running perfect first. If you go down the power route before maintaince you will likely get egg on your face.
  15. Yup get it going, start a thread see who would be interested find out dates etc.
  16. Make sure you buy a well maintained and regularly serviced example. Check. Get it inspected by a proper specialist is your next step. Nissan main dealers have forgotten what the z32 is and how to work on it, as a general rule, is your next step. The main issue that breaks these cars is poor maintaince. The main fails are electrical connections in the engine bay, split/blocked coolant hoses and galleries and poor quality tunes. If looked after the bottom end is capable of holding around 500hp and lasting circa 300k miles at stock power levels. Turbos fail between 100 and 150k on average. It's an engine out to replace. The majority of bad press on these cars is provided by misinformation, rumours and badly maintained example. It's a proper modern classic, even with the auto box a very rewarding car to drive.
  17. Ryan suggested it gosh, bout a year back before he sold his. It's been playing in my mind since then really. When you brought it up it really got my brain buzzing lol. Yes though good idea rich.
  18. Would anyone be up for a cheddar run soon?
  19. When you going lol.
  20. And two breathalyser tests kits. You taking the zed?
  21. What annoys me very similarly is when the 4x4s expect you to mount the verge. Whilst they sit there in the flat road. I'm with you, if you can't get up the curb you can't. It's not legal to mount the curb and you shouldn't be expected to do it.
  22. No idea, maybe best to ask on an American forum. No one on here is likey to have done it as we drive on the correct side of the road, ie the same side as the japs. So there's no need to convert here.
