  1. That depends on how it's achvied, 500hp in one lump that requires a mile straight to build the boost is useless. 400hp that arrives in the right place and on demand instantly is going to be more fun and more useable. In the real world it could make a faster car, that's an extreme example.
  2. Thanks for sharing Si, the scene out there really seems a winner. Weath of information from the 3zc guys.
  3. Lol I see what your saying but that's pretty disassembled, what I meant was you can't just remove the cam cover and pop some new ones on lol.
  4. It would seem to me mate that the stem seals are faulty atm, that's characteristic that they will weep over a relaxed time then clear as the car drives. This may not have been the original issue but simply a background one. Sadly to get to them you have to disassemble the head to access them. :( As for the above discrepancies I cannot comment I'am not an expert mechanic. However the way its running tends to suggest jeff is correct, if it had had sand go though it wrecking seals and bearings you'd most likely have poor compression and excessive blow by.
  5. What are those wheels on the red one again sorry? Anniversary? What model z33?
  6. The first time my cat back came off I paid some other smuck, I cut one bolt it pinged off and set fire inside my overalls that was about the point I decided the £50 labour was worth it lol.
  7. Iirc they are slightly different using 6 bolt drive shafts like the r230 diff from the tt
  8. Trust me if you were blating it around the a roads at 10pm with the targas off the motivation would be fully restored lol
  9. Exactly that a lot of these engines are a bit tapery when cold, once warm they quieten right down again.
  10. I've got baileys I think mark has to. Bailey are pretty recognised brand esp in the ford world so you can know they're a half decent quality product, not made of cheap alloy that will corrode next week.
  11. It's really getting some love this shell isn't it. I'm sure it's going to turn out really nicely mate.
  12. It used to be a gorgeous cherry red swb one of the best around.
  13. It's possible something could be done with an rb gearbox and transmission system as internally the boxes are pretty similar. Personally if I was building something along those lines it would be a pure toy and therefore would have to be rwd. Mid mounting sounds the best option but for me it would have to be fr format. You not enjoying your r35 enough then?
  14. Correct, the auto changes smooth and fast and they don't vent during its changes. Only when you go from open the closing throttling.
  15. It only causes a brief over fuel between boosted gear changes. The car comes with dumps from factory, they are just recirculating ones rather than astmospheric ones therefore silent. The advantage of the stock ones is that they help to keep the turbos spooling during gear change. In the real world you are unlikely to notice any side effects negative or positive.
  16. Why can I never find the k&n ones for a decent price, I have seen them on sale for like £250! Wtf?
  17. Trying some wyns sticky lifter treatment, and top up your oil. There's only 3.5 litres in the system when full, if you have it down to the bottom of the dipstick that's a litre short, just 2.5litres of oil not very good.
  18. Don't quote me on it but you will process more air at a set psi. If that is the case then on boost the car would run lean even at 9psi. If it was me I wouldn't boost at all until I knew for certain it was correct.
  19. Did you do the targa inlay that looks a royal pita
