  1. That's the purpose for it really mate safety, the car won't see the track too often or competitive racing. However if the worse should happen I'd rather give myself a better chance of survival.
  2. Apart from bob and Jaffa who both own slicktops has anyone else got a cage? I know mad Marco has a half cage but again swb. So yeah information on Lwb cages please, where from how much etc. how much do these affect your insurance? The age old story is having one makes your car virtually uninsurable. I've also heard it makes very little difference so that would be helpfull also.
  3. Pretty sure japspeed sell them.
  4. Interesting that Pete, the yanks slag off the ebay bits. For that reason, Chinese tat. However as you say so many of us over here use it all. Would it even be worth paying for spl it power trix etc and having them imported?
  5. LOL! North Sea! Ive not met mr. F before.
  6. Half those dates have passed, and my mot runs out at the end of the month. :( so sadly I'm out.
  7. My friend had a 1974 beetle a few years back, that had some very odd pedals terrible to drive.my van accelerator however is also floor hinged but feel normal.
  8. M3's are great but they are so boring to look at. To uneducated it's just a BMW that looks like all others. Be interested in a hard out race, my mate has a very lightweight scirocco that feels RAPID, the zed feel much slower. In the real world though the zed even stock starts walking past it as if it were still after about 60. Bear in mind a z32 running a generic chip at 14 psi is likely producing less than 340hp. Also bear in mind, that a stock z32 is faster than all but the latest Porsche boxsters a car well it's junior and with a very well know brand on the bonnet. So they are a quick car even stock.
  9. Prime to be broken, vultures will be all per that soon as you posted the link :(
  10. So much misinformation, lots of I heard such and such. There's z32s out there with 300k miles on the original block, there are z32s out there running 800hp on the stock block. They are no more heavy than any of their contemporaries skylines, gtos etc they get compared weight wise to a lot of the 4cyl models of that era, yeah it's 200kg heavier than a s13 but it's also got nearly twice the power! No one ever calls a skyline slow of heavy...a z32 has so much in common with a r32 gtst or rather the other way round. The z32 always has rumours about it, but il tell you now those that own and drive them will tell you a rather different story to the rumours. Japan's original super car is nearly 25 years old, looks modern drives modern and still embarrasses a lot of "sports" cars.
  11. Better the devil you know.... It could however be a hard one financially. Swapping out a known runner will be cheaper and faster.
  12. At what point does planning come into it? Obviously you can build a shed but where does the line draw is it about footprint or height or what? I need to build something like this or a small garage at the new house. Trouble is it's gotta go in the front garden, no side access anymore, else I'd build a whacking big z shack.
  13. You should be well chuffed with that. Makes me want a 99 front even more.
  14. If you found that mouse I hope it suffered public execution to show all other nice you don't mess. He'll I would of mounted its cheeky little head in a pole old school style! Few years ago I got my keep net out and a mouse had chewed through each layer if it, for fun I guess little blighter.
  15. You shouldn't be pressure testing to 1bar regardless. Your pressurising the pre turbo pipework this way, which in turn means your applying pressure to the rock covers etc, it's a good way to pop your cam seals out mate. Fairly sure your egr is only functional at tick over so is immaterial to mpg, also with a 3 litre bi turbo fuel economy is out the window regardless.
  16. The vh45 route has always interested me, fantastic engine. I love a ls or other honking big high displacement yank block, they are low revving long strokers generally so although they sound beautifull they don't sound right under a speak bodied jap sports car. What do you want long term though? A stock vg will hold 500hp with a good map and decent tubs etc, few grand there. A vh45 is going to cost you simular really unless you want big numbers. It's a lot of effort for what can be archived on a stock block and tubs, Noel's car made 430hp virtually stock. If I was going down the v8 route I'd want a forced induction v8 big supercharger likely and just enjoy the torque and sound WHINEpop pop pop bang! A charged v8 is damn musical.
  17. Google "robos 300zx page" it explains all the deletes and how to preform them, really useful.
  18. I know what your saying but it will be 100xs easier to pull that plenum second time round. It's worth doing it right.
  19. Get rid. Do you know for sure it even works? Bin in, do the water pipe bypass Aiv delete and prv delete while your at it. You will then have gained a perverse amount of free space for the sake of some silly tubes.
  20. Here are; http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_16&products_id=6556
  21. If I remember the blurb they are smaller than true gt28s, larger air processing power smaller turbine. Something of that type.
  22. Not sure the seating position is upto much.
  23. You've got gt2860rs haven't you ie disco potato? The gtx range are a next step on from that design. Supposedly bloody good tubs.
  24. Pretty sure they are gt525 with the correct sized exhaust housing. A gt525 is a t28 core with machined t25 compressor/exhaust housings. These are a rolling bearing version of the jwt sport 500. Full spec is on z1s website guys.
