Project Dittohead Red
Picked these last suspension bits up today from the shot blasters, they did a great job of the pesky fuel filler cover plate thingy. Zinc primed; Hammerited, well one side anyways, takes years to dry that stuff; And I picked up a Jiffy bag of joy from Z1 :D

Project Dittohead Red
Bit behind on pictures but I've hit all loose underseal under the car. Any surface rust has been wire wheeled with the grinder, rust converted(just for peace of mind), zinc primed & hammerited. Then I've put a fresh coat of underseal with wax oil from the handbrake connections back minus above the fuel tank which will get the same treatment next winter, which it appears it will appricate. Rear subframe is almost ready for reassembly. Just got to collect some little bits, it's a tomorrow job although with a small box of bits from FedEx, for what arrived a little while back from mr dent. Hopefully by the time the weekends out it should be a big leap forward.

What is the point of an NA Auto?
Mine was auto originally, the autobox did what many do and developed problems. Those problems worsened until I decided to go manual, just in time I might add. That choice transformed the car. I'm not anti auto, I quite like the relaxed nature of an automatic. For a daily driver with traffic jams it's king it really is. But mid corner on that empty A road at 4am when the box changes where you didn't want it leaves you screaming at it, do what I want you to bloody do!!! Modern autos are better at this obviously, but with the zeds box the ability to simply see your corner down shift pull through and stamp on it through the exit and KNOW that the gear you want is what you will get till you change makes all the difference. For you I get it, for me I want my toy to be you like.

PAS fluid leak
The pump is on the left of the engine as you look at it, about 10" down or so, it's the top pulley if the two you will see. If it's coming out in the middle it could potentially be running down a pipe or across the cross member etc, most likely though the high pressure line has rusted on it's joiner and is leaking. Clean up the mess and see what you can see from underneath.

Budget Question...sorry
Beautifully put. I honestly think they should lower the voting age to 16, why? Well because firstly it's crazy you can pay tax and be considered old enough for sexual consent but you can't have a vote on yours or that child's life but more importantly it encourages discussion, you will talk about it if you are able to participate. Get people into the habit young, get them interested then they will actually engage and participate. Too many of us don't vote and it's not for laziness(not all anyway) it's due to disillusionment and disheartenment.

Budget Question...sorry
I genuinely cannot believe anyone would vote labour. Not only have we just come out a terrible recession they caused amongst other things their current front man is an imbecile. If that pink bus convinced you go ahead vote labour but your memory is very short. Who will I vote for? Well it won't be labour obviously, the temptation to make a protest vote is high but that just seems to help who didn't want get in the back door via coalition. Ol' Dave isn't my best mate but I think this end of the shitty stick is better than the other. What is really like is to trigger a vote of non confidence and force the over paid monkeys to go back to the drawing board and make some real changes.

How much rust is too much?

How much rust is too much?
I've seen worse, lots worse. However that is a basket case, as said they tend to rot from the inside out( that bump in the sill is the targa drain point) the bitumen hides things till it blisters out. It might look like you've got 5p of surface rust but the reality is you've got half an apple, with a core softer than chocolate. Corse the converse could be true, stones etc have removed the bitumen and left steel exposed leaving it to rust, a wire wheel maybe solve that. Basically what I'm saying is that looks like an unknown, it's waving a red flag saying I'm going to want attention and it might cost you a fair sum. That being said, finding a rust free example us going to be nigh on impossible esp within your lower budget. Unless you can do the work yourself and/or the car is cheap enough in your opinion the rectify it I think I'd keep looking.
