  1. Yeah, it's just a little seal in its own right. Be careful removing as you don't want to damage the aluminium seal face. I did mine when I did the manual conversion.
  2. They don't leak under boost leak testing...that's all I can say for sure. There Bailey DV26 I think.
  3. I thought I understood it but you've confused me now. So I need a Tee in the system? I cannot just run a single line? Why is this? I was under the impression the actuator is just a diaphragm controlled by the engines vacuum, when it sees 7psi the diaphragm is overwhelmed and opens the wastegate. I can't see how it needs more than just a vac/boost line to apply the manifold pressure :s
  4. Yeah I just have a single line running from the throttle body pipe nipple to the actuator. Which contains the stock boost jet. The 1mm boost jets are fitted in this line. I think, think, that the silicone pipe I used has a larger ID and its leaking round it, I guess it wouldn't take much of a leak to cause the issue.
  5. Are the wheels genuine ones? The look like old school enkeis. Get them powder coated silver and they will look lovely.
  6. I've fitted a remapped ecu. So today I thought I'd try upping the boost, money's a little tight this month so as an experiment I got a pair of 1mm mig welding tips to see what the difference was. Expecting 14psi. Even from the first pull I thought this doesn't feel any different, looking at the gauge I saw the normal 9psi. What the hells that all about? I don't have the stock boost solenoids anymore so I can't even go into the 7psi safety boost. I did a boost leak check last weekend in preparation and there wasn't any noticeable leaks. Suggestions?
  7. That's cars silver? Lol it also belongs to a member.
  8. I'm 29, mines £350 a year with footman James on a classic policy. Limited to 5k miles. It was cheaper but there's a few mods on my car these days.
  9. You could get a set of Godspeed turbos, get them balanced and see how it goes? Other than paying out you don't have many options I'm afraid. Even buying turbos to create a kit yourself can end up costing nearly the same as the kit...
  10. Yes, kinda. You need to be careful and take your time but they are pretty simple inside. The bit you can't do is balance them, without balancing them they won't last 5 seconds. The other issue is MOST turbo companies will NOT balance a turbo core they haven't rebuilt. I do however know one that does if you do need that information. Also note that proper balancing is not the same as what's offered on eBay etc.
  11. What's your budget mate? Those do indeed appear to be Chinese, some have had success but often the quality control isn't up to much. Also being what they are they will require more than just a fettle to fit. One will need clocking, with custom wastewater actuator bracketery and both will need modifying to allow you to fit the inlets. This at the very least. For that amount of hassle you may as well buy genuine garret units, they will still need faffing with though unless you buy a specific kit. Rebuilding the stock turbos isn't very difficult, it's also not excessively cheap to do properly and has a larger than margin of failure than most realise. There's a few options but budget will dictate heavily which way to go.
  12. I can almost guarantee there are more than 28 left...there's probably more than 28 UK cars in this club.
  13. Welcome, your gonna have plenty of time to work on that before your allowed to drive it! Have you looked at insurance, I'd be surprised if they don't just laugh. Sorry if that sounds like I'm being a dick but seriously a 1 litre fiesta is gonna cost you 2-2.5k to insure in your first year. The insurance will be daylight robbery till your 21. What are your plans restoration wise? The kit is an impul kit and yes it's pretty rare. There are similar skirts that are easier to find that you could use to complete the kit. What's going on with the interior of the passenger door, it's red. Has the door been switched at some point? That gurgling noise you can hear is your AIV most likely full of water. Get those deleted. Your oil pressure does appear to work for a few seconds then dies. Probably requires a new sender, nice easy job. Please don't free rev your car like that esp on a cold engine, it won't thank you for it.
  14. Er....big brother? No, little brother. enjoy it mate, there a good little car.
  15. Why do you think I go fishing? Some of the places I go I won't see another soul for the whole day. There is honestly nothing more wonderful than to be outside in the wilds. Wether that's up to your eyes in stinging nettles stalking fish in clear water or walking the dog through expansive pine forests and heathland. I hate the city, I don't feel at home there. Even the Bournemouth town is too much for me to be comfortable. Who wouldn't want to spend a day here; I took that about 6.30am a few weeks back, the mist lifting off the Dorset stour waiting for the day of surprises to arrive.
  16. Haha! Yeah I had so many other interests, still do. School was just in the way of the rest of life really. I hated it, secondary school was the worst five years of my life. I would compare my old school to a prison really. Where I grew up is on the out skirts of a large town in a county that is 95% rural so it's not too bad. However the 70s saw a massive influx of "travellers" settling into the estates and the 80s saw the druggies being sent here to "rest" they never went home. The kids I went to school with were a mix of the spawn of these people.
  17. Almost defiantly. When I was about 12/13 it was all the rage, so much so eventually the local area ran dry of cars with metal dust caps. They used to steal a set of four of the car, two went on there bike and the other two they sold on. Paid for Turkey twislers or panda pops at lunch because your parents would never give you enough money for a proper lunch. I must admit I had a set on my mongoose menace, I paid for mine on the "black market" haha, I didn't used to eat at school so I could spend the money on other things, usually fish or fishing bait, sad I know.
  18. Gold is not cool. Chrome is a touch tacky, gold blows it out the water. Gold wheels can look good, bronze look better. A simple satin black trim would look 100xs better honestly.
  19. Do it rich, life is short. Buy and enjoy the big lumps while they are still legal, it won't last forever.
  20. Jap bumper 100% can't stand the cluttered UK bumper. Even without the fogs, the long plate makes it look so boring, the square rear recess gives it that feeling that it's not a ford etc.
  21. Poole quay. Don't think you can park like that anymore, too many old biffers taking thier car for a dip.
  22. Don't loose heart mate. I wouldn't personally start painting a car now, not without a heated booth. The humidity raises very quickly outside atm. It will end up all milky. Without being rude as said I think you need to go back to the basics, watch some tutorials, they really help. Most importantly, take your time. Make life easier for yourself by painting the car a solid colour too, that way there's no multiple layers. If you make a run etc you can sand back and re do that part. Candys and pearls are a notorious pita, for those who know how. Us armatures have to take easy options. I just had my first go with the gun and did my bonnet. It took me a week, hour here and there letting it go off and wet sanding etc.
  23. Have you ascertained the cause of your issue yet? It's very admirable that your getting on with the service items but I don't think they will cure your initial issue.
  24. I love the jap bumper in comparison, looks more exotic with the square cut out.
  25. Does this help? http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=efec&dir=&config=&refresh=&slide=178&cycle=off&scale=0&design=default&total=190
