What did you do to your zed today?
I've binned that insulation but, just left the hard cover in place as I had to keep taking the spare out etc when I wanted to bleed the system. Just seemed like an unnecessary faff.

Power steering pump
That is the laziest hicas delete I've seen. Get the solenoid off the inner wing and use that banjo on the pump to create a nice tidy return from the rear section to the resivoir. Or as said find an NA pump and bracket. It would appear the pipe work for the hicas is still in place just a dead leg. Does make you wonder what else has been done. Top the fluid up first with dextron auto transmission fluid and check for leaks. A whiney pump is often one without enough fluid. Rebuild of the pump isn't hard.

First Z!
The whole E Fan thing is pretty contentious. The vast, vast majority of kits available aren't up to the task. The stock viscous fan moves huge amounts of air, a rather expensive E Fan would be required. Success has been had, many using fans off big v8s etc. The fact that that kit doesn't even offer a CFM rating tells a story. Stick with the stock viscous and shroud mated to an aftermarket rad. Give the system a damn good flush. Clean the air con rad (not with a pressure washer) and that will do the job. You don't need a Nismo thermostat or anything silly. It's a good time to replace all the water hoses to. Doesn't cost the earth and will vastly improve reliability.

Hicas
 that's an awesome tip terry.

Yeah pop the bulb out mate. If you have the solenoid etc left, there's a banjo on there that creates a nice tidy hose tail off the pump back to the resi.

new toy im after any info on
Nah, there easy. 14mm ratchet spanner. The clutch pedal is the fun bit.

Tyres
Thread depth must be more than 1.6mm over the central 2/3rds iirc. So those look like they are probably legal. However wether I'd run them is a different question. Check the date on the side to. Looks like the previous owner liked lots of camber.

That's very cheap!

TT or NA?
So they have, doesn't look like UK speedo does it, equally if it were it would be twin turbo due to the lack of UK NAs. I recon it's just an overlay accompanied with a speed corrector.
-
TT or NA?
I'd say NA. It's more likely to have had the front bumper, which appears to of once been red, replaced, than the clocks which read 165,000. A mix of KM and miles I expect. That paint on the rear of the sill rings alarm bells to me as well.

Boost leak testing
Don't think your compressor is up to it mate. If you had a leak that big, you'd hear the hiss straight off. Might be worth flicking the engine over and trying again though.

How long have you had your CURRENT Z for?
Never misses an opportunity:lol:

How long have you had your CURRENT Z for?
7 years. It's actually been on the road most of that as well, even if it's gone no where for periods of time.

Japfest 2016 - Silverstone - Sunday 24th April - Updated with payment details
Is that why his car is B&Q sponsored colours?

new toy im after any info on
I doubt it's a genuine veilside car, it's not got a complete kit etc. I also doubt it has 400hp, that's the number banded around for a boost upgrade, chip and bolt ons. I expect in reality it's running about 330-340bhp. Still not to be sniffed at. Aside from that you've found a serious bargain. That's the desirable format, with some extras. Look forward to seeing what sorta state she's in.

Me too.

Hicas
Just bear in mind, there are cheaper kits, japspeed lock out bar for example. Sadly these retain the stock arms and ball joints that are usually what was broken to start with. You will have to modify your hubs to accept the driftworks kit. I must confess I didn't do that but myself. Jaffa did the original install.

I have the driftworks delete on mine mate, your more than welcome to have a nose at it.

Straight through crew?!
Keeps the rain out, bloody targas. Plus it keeps prying eyes away.

Straight through crew?!
That's fair enough. Just ribbing you anyways. Spraying well isn't a skill learnt over night is it, I'm not happy with my bonnet. Got moisture in the clear coat and it's acrylic. So il strip it back and have another go. Bigger moisture trap on the compressor outlet maybe. Lots to learn.

Straight through crew?!
Yeah, it's not quite as good as it could be, however the situation before, that you had to buy six months in one go( I know you can claim it back but it's a faff) left you bringing your car out early for spring then regrudgingly putting it away early as paying out six months for that extra month or so, was just a pita. Whilst it's actually more expensive monthly, it's just easier to swallow and you could in theory tax the car 9 months only with ease.

Straight through crew?!
Proper little trooper though ain't she Pete. Maybe springs paint correction might include a detangoed roof
