  1. That's not true for my car - when my light comes on, I can get 60-62 litres in my car, which means I only have 8-10 litres in the tank (assuming we have a 70L tank). If you average 17mpg like most do, you only have a range of 30 miles.
  2. As promised, pics.... sorry about the frost - but it's bllody freezing outside!
  3. I am not interested in max bhp figures, but I do think I have comfortably outgrown my 300 -350bhp having run stockish TT's for 5 years. I've had induction kits, exhaust, ecu and 1mm boost jets before (I'm guessing maybe 350bhp?) What is the most useable power you can have in a TT ans still have an everyday usuable car with lots of torque and little lag and still keep a good idle? Oh and what needs to be on the shopping list?
  4. Is this the same for a 99 spec rear spoiler? does that have any aerodynamic value? My car has the spoiler removed, and if I were to put a rear spoiler on, it would only be a 99 spec one, but I dont want to fit it if it does nothing.
  5. how do you tell the prop bearing has gone by looking at it?
  6. Well there is always sex, drugs and rock and roll...
  7. 235 35 r19 front and 265 30 r19 rear. The only pics I have at them moment are on my phone and are not very good. i will take some tomorrow
  8. Since i have been suffering with some vibrations I took the zed to another garage this morning for another wheel alignment and balance of my 17" Momo arrows.... but ended up buying a set of 19" Toyo T1-S for my vortex evo's instead. I have to say it looks the mutts nuts, and the great news is the vibrations has gone! really odd though is the ride has really improved now I'm on 19's. I was expecting a much firmer ride and more tyre noise, but it's the opposite - the car is much quieter now than before.

  10. Of all the people - I was sure that would be enough to make you bite  you must have chilled out for christmas!
  11. I really like the Advan siena's especially the centres, but at approx 25lbs a piece for just the 18" wheels, they are more show than go... That's what my 19" wheels weigh.
  12. I will check today - thanks for the advice guys.
  13. and with the abuse it's taken from it Chav owner - Thats all you are getting a load of parts. Lol @ selling as a new car
  14. still very cheap for a UK S1 manual TT. Is worth that in parts.
  15. The thing with adjustable tension rods is finding somewhere to set it up. the place I get my laser allignment done doesn't have the details for that adjustment (what ever you call that adjustment caster/tow-in blah blah) and I don't want to get it wrong. has always put me off adjustable set up ever since.
  16. I don't know, The came with the alloys I bought of EdK209 but they had a good 5mm of tread - still probably have 4mm now. I do have the 19" version of your wheels sitting in my garage waiting to go on (minus tyres) but don't want to fit them until the weather improves in the spring.
  17. Si -Yep happens all the time (to a very small extent - maybe I'm being picky but I wan't it to be perfect). only really noticeable between 65-75mph but it is always there to a small extent. Jaffa - my nuts are always tight and the tyre pressures are always good.
  18. I have recently had a 4 wheel laser align and my wheels balanced. I know my prop bearing needs to be replaced soon as that gives me a little shake through the drivers seat between 40-50 mph, but I am noticing a shake through the steering wheel which is something else. I have had enough zeds with knackered prop bearings to know what that feels like -and this isn't that kind of vibration. It almost feels like a buckled wheel (but I have just had them all balenced). I don't do mental breaking to warp a disc - I'm baffled. Anyone got any ideas. It is most noticeable at an indicated 75mph (only doing 70mph according to gps officer before you tell me off for speeding). The vibration is there at all speeds.
  19. Panick over... must have been a temporary glitch... I have just comeback from my son's parents evening.... a round trip of 250 miles. I am really loving my zed again!
  20. Thanks for all the kind comments, I just had a look and everything seems in order belt wise. I started it up and everything seems fine... no squeaks or squeals. I let it get up to temperature, where it stopped at it's normal operating temperature. I then waited for the oil presure to settle at it's normal level (a couple of notches lower on the guage). Because all seemed fine, it took it down the road. apart from no traction - all seems good. do you think it's ok to drive? just a tempory glitch? I don't think it's the aircon belt because its the other side of the engine. maybe the alternater belt jammed for a second - I will take you up on the check over Jeff - cheers.
  21. When I last had the car serviced at zedworld I got a full coolant change and has not lost a drop of water since. so I know my antifreeze is ok. but it does squeak a bit when cold.
  22. I have had my first meltdown today. Pulled up at traffic lights and the engine cut out. I tried to start her but it behaved like it had a flat battery. Luckily I had a portable jumpstart box in the boot fully charged. I jumped it, but lots of rubber smelling smoke filled the car, it seemed to be coming from the driver's side of the engine bay - near the front, but I couldn't see anything. No warning lights came on and the oil pressure was good, as was the temp guage. I drove home and abandoned the car there, but it drove home fine and the smoke and smell cleared really quickly. Anyone got any ideas what that could be? I don't want to drive it if I might have issues.
  23. I spoke too soon.... had my first hiccup today! me and my big mouth!
