  1. I am interested in the S2 (92-93) model. How much was is new and what else was a similar price at the time?
  2. That is open to question!
  3. Maybe - but I don't want to go all that way to find out it's a dog. I might see if I can find someone out there to view it first...:duffer::duffer:
  4. found a corker - right price, right mileage, right spec and even comes with a personalised plate with my initials S4 SBM BUT....... it's in Ireland:cry:
  5. This is not quite true... there are 2 types of spin in corners and TC can help with one. If you are putting too much power out of a corner and the wheels start to break traction - TC can help with this and will reduce a spin situation into a mild drift.... If however you have entered a corner with far too much speed and you lift off mid bend - the weight transfer will flip the back of the car round and you will spin. That's just bad driving and no amount of TC will help with that. Hope this helps
  6. The audi is winning at the moment....
  7. The time has come for me to trade in my everyday car Alfa 147 twinspark selespeed. I want a fun 4 seater and will have a budget of 7k I have my shortlist down to 3: Audi S4 2.7 twin turbo 2001 BMW M3 3.2 Evo 2001 Mazda RX8 231 2003 Any recomendations? Anyone driven - owned any of those?
  8. Does anyone use autoglym super resin polish? is it good or is there a better polish for the money?
  9. I didn't take the zed
  10. Actually we got in late last night - but I was too knackered to post! I have got to say a BIG thanks to Kim for putting in a lot of effor to get this arranged - great job there matey, and the sausage rolls were just the ticket! My second big thanks is to everyone from the club. I was a bit worried about bringing our 9 month old baby Luca, but I needn't have worried - he was as good as gold, and everyone from the club made us feel really welcome. It was really good to meet you all again, some familliar faces and some new ones too. All in all, a great weekend, and proving that 300zx.co.uk is truly family friendly.
  11. Welcome matey... St. Albans - I know it well - I grew up there.
  12. dan, do you still have my mobile number?
  13. And a whole host of other benefits.
  14. I was thinking the same thing a little whilw back, here you can get an idea of the finishes project.... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=102309&referrerid=4807
  15. When you say m65 - don't you mean 'I drove down the M65 to a private test track'?:x: Please remember this is a public forum and driving irresponsibly is frowned upon by not only the police, but many forum members too and you never know who is reading your posts.:headvswal I am just giving some friendly advice as people in the past have been prosecuted for admitting excessive speed in public internet forums. We all like to exploit the power of these cars - thats why bought them too - just save the excessive stuff for the dragstrip or trackdays.:slap: Right, back to your question. readline in top for an auto is in excess of 180mph probably closer to 200mph so the heat generated by that would be massive. You will probably find that once everything cooled down again it will be fine.
  16. How about these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=140260161205&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=004
  17. I have bitten the bullet and booked my zed into our local bodyshop. I have resisted the urge to have it painted Ford Focus ST orange and will be going for a FunkySi style modern/stock look in the original gunmetal grey. The only thing is I cant decide on Wheel design or size. Do I go 18" or 19"? I can't stay on 17's due to my coming brake upgrade. What design of wheels suits it best? I really like skyline Daves Votex Manias - but maybe they are just a bit too much for a stock zed. Waddya think?
  18. I wasn't planning on coming - as having a new baby will be tough to manage - but I think the Mrs is actually quite up for it - so I think this is now on! Wont be in the zed as we will need the space of her Honda FRV to get our bits in. This means we could we be on for another Stevie007 JAE video! http://media.putfile.com/JAE-300zx
  19. you can also get that if its only used for very short journeys and doesn't let the engine oil get hot. give it an oil/filter change - hopefully all will be ok - if not - what have you lost really?
  20. congratz dazza, glad to hear it's all going so well for you.
  21. well done, excellent choice.
  22. I had the pleasure of driving a near as can be 99 spec SWB slicktop manual TT which was just like driving a brand new car. No squeaks or rattles at all. Now I have owned 5 zeds in my time all LWB all different ages between 89 -93 and all of them rattle and squeak. Do all your lwb's squeak and rattle too? is there a magic cure? or am I too critical?
