  8. Si, It is perfectly normal to get bored with what you have, everyone has experienced the frustration of wanting a new car, job or partner. Since changing your car is often the easiest, cheapest and safest - it's what most people change. Have you considered joining a clar club where for a small fee, you can drive something exotic every weekend? http://www.classiccarclub.co.uk/home.asp might be right up your street. Maybe, after you have driven a lot of other cars you will see just how ahead of its time it really was. Next up, car control - you need to drive it in the wet, and rain water will not hurt your car, especially if you give it a good wash when it's dry again. We only salt our roads when the temp drops to below 0, and maybe icy roads are the only roads I avoid if I can, but for many zed owners it's there only car and that have no problems in those condtions - just drive it off boost (don't exceed 3k rpm), smooth acceleration and braking and only accelerate when the wheels are facing dead straight ahead. Join a club like http://www.cadence.co.uk they will teach you all you need to know about getting the best out of your zed in all conditions. They can even take you to millbrook or Bruntingthorpe just to hone your skills on a track. Anyway - sorry to ramble on, but I go through the need to change my car more than most and everytime I sell my zed - the next car is such a dissapointment - I instantly buy another zed. I am onto my 5th now and after n/a's and TT's both auto's and manuals I can say the zed is truly terrific. You will be hard pushed to find another car with genuine 180mph 5s 0-60mph 2+2 that you can take the roof off for less than 18k so what would you change it to? Anything else wouldn't tick all the boxes. "my old zed was more comfortable than this..." or "my old zed was quicker handled better than this" but my favourite "nobody takes any notice of me in this (porsche/tvr/lotus/etc) everyone stared at my zed" Junk the job and the Mrs! you'll regret leaving the zed!
  9. Cheers Nick - I know things will be fine - I was just highlighting the fact that people are losing their jobs - I know had we not been in recession - the company am working at would have retained me.
  10. Thanks Si - I will look into it...
  11. I'm a self employed computer consultant - so no chance of redundancy. The markets are bad at the moment, so not sure where my next job will come from. Luckily - I have enough saved to be out of work for a few months - but time to tighten my belt.
  12. Been given notice at work - nice just before xmas.

  15. or you could use open office. http://www.openoffice.org/ it does everything ms office does - and it's free. You can even open and save as word.doc, excel.xls, powerpoint.ppt and acces.mdb files
  16. The company I am currently working with just asked if I would accept a 60% pay cut... I said - thanks for asking, but no.... but I would consider only a 50% pay cut. "oh no, that is still too expensive" they said "we will have to leave it..!" So now I carry on at my existing rate?? go figure - I put it all down to the recession playing tricks with peoples minds! As odd as that sounds - it's very true.
  17. make sure you have got the reciept and guarentee.
