it's true in as much as you can brake later, and better brakes give more confidence. As Mario says it will make a difference on the track. on the street however, your car wont actually go any faster.

nope it was a chav chariot astra, and considering I had cruise control on and didn't accelerate at all - he made a lot of noise and not much happened. remember, i wasn't paying him any attention, then from all the noise he made I looked up and managed to see the serial number of the phone he used - he was hanging around so long!

Driving along a dual carriage today, my three kids were also in the zed. When along side me pulls an astra vxrish type summit or other. I didn't pay it any attention until I hear it's engine scream into life and it's exhaust growl and boom as it crawled away from me at a snails pace. I looked at it to see a bloke in the passenger seat holding up his camera fone recording it. I wasn't racing - anyway I had my kids with me, I was just cruising at 55mph, but what are the odds there will be a new vid on youtube today with "my mega 800bhp astra demolishes supercar" chavtastic!:headvswal:headvswal

Mine is so far out over 40 mph that I can ONLY use tom tom to guage my speed. When the speedo says I am doing 70mph - I am actually doing 82mph! I thought maybe my tom tom was out, but I was so worried I checked it with a Navman and it was the same. I think this must be since I switched to 19" wheels. And to think - on my last track day I got up to 6k rpm in 5th gear which felt really fast, but was only an indicated 125mph - wonder how much it was out by at that speed?
