Anyone else seen this?
An interesting development: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/shropshire/4669594.stm

It`s kicking off!!!
Have now read virtually all of this sorry tale. What a complete swine! Can only come to the conclusion that everybody else has: he flogged the car to this guy Nick on eBay, then persuaded him to get involved in the raffle scam to pretend he won it fair and square. Unbelievable.

It`s kicking off!!!
Very dodgy indeed. Interestingly though, that eBay auction finished in mid-November. Not sure what to infer from that TBH. What an idiot though. Funnily enough I think I've probably seen that skyline knocking around in Dorchester once (there aren't that many white skylines in Dorset)... maybe I should have rammed him on the high street if I'd known (joke).

Has this worked? (vid of my Z)
Works for me... but that soundtrack. Ooer. Nice burnout though.

High Oil Pressure when Cold
Yeah, mine does the same thing. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere else that this is fairly normal so I wouldn't worry.

Just bought a new Zed
Very nice car. Front bumper's a bit more aggressive than I'd go for, but if we were all the same and all that. All I'd say is remove the graphics and it'll be sweet. Looks in great nick. Oh yeah, just watch those speed bumps, grr.

whats happened to astrassuck (ben)

Help!! opinions please
I reckon a photoshop might be helpful at this point from anyone who has the skills.

look ferrari
Yeah, it's not too bad in an 80s kind of way... just doesn't look anything like a Ferrari.

MZR: Geez I spent a lot more money than I intended today...
...it's gonna be fun though. Intended to just buy snowboarding boots, salapets, a set of goggles, and possibly some bindings... ended up buying all of the above plus a board and board-bag. Oops. Oh well, it'll be worth it. The board isn't the best in the world, but then I'm really not much more than a beginner anyway, and since it's a beginner/intermediate jobbie it'll be perfect. Last time I went my feet killed me after an hour or so's boarding and I had to take the boots off to restore circulation to my toes, so this time I wanted to be comfortable... and then I just eventually thought, stuff it you might as well get the whole lot: it's not as if hire's that cheap anyway. Anyone else ever gone into a shop and spent about twice what you intended? Feel both good and bad about it: can't really afford it but keep telling myself it'll be a saving in the long run, plus a much better experience on holiday.

NZR How many people use Firefox
That's kind of interesting coming from the security guru's security guru. Mind you, it does also mean that Firefox is also more than 15% unsafe too. But come on guys, in so many other ways (tabs etc) FF is way better than IE. I know you can get plug-ins for this in IE, but the tabbing never seems to work as well as in Firefox. I will however admit that for some inexplicable reason FF sometimes seems to use an awful lot of memory when you've only got a few pages open.

tottaly in shock
That's fantastic news. I can only imagine how relieved you feel: in your position I think I might be going for the 8 option there.
-
what to do
Yep, I'd agree with this. If I had the money spare I'd do the same.

Gutted for you mate, and good job for stepping in. Like Rich says, you need to get in touch with the embassy immediately if you haven't done so already. They should be able to clear some of this up for you. Can't believe the police are even thinking of charging you for this.

re-trimmed seats...
Yeah, I'd agree with this. If I ever do get around to retrimming my car, which I'd like to, I don't think I'd go pure black. All black inside on a black car and it all starts to get a bit gothic. I think the red panels look fantastic with the black seats so if I were you I'd keep 'em.

NZR: 3 billion miles, no servicing, no cambelt change...
OK, so I admit that it's not a car, but this really is quite amazing: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/4614222.stm Messes with my head that you can send something 3 billion miles, blast it back through the earth's atmosphere at 29,000 mph, and still land it accurately in a military base in Utah. Unbelievable.

She pushing here luck ...again
Stop moaning you lot! Wish I actually had a missus to complain at me for spending too much time on the net... now that probably *is* sad.

complimented by the law
Nice one! Scary moment when that happens though. My back end is well jumpy at the moment. Hopefully the new tyres will help though (F1s). Glad you're OK, can easily go very pear-shaped when that kind of thing happens. Also good to see you got pulled by a fair-minded copper; I can well imagine there's some out there would book you for something like that, but with this kind of car it's bound to happen every now and again.

holy sh1T!!!!!
Very sick indeed. :( Can hardly believe somebody would actually do that.

Who, on the forum would you like to meet?
I'd like to meet just about anyone. :) Had a lot of help from various people on this forum, and I think you're all great.

Stay of execution... at least for the time being.
Umm, so I've done quite a lot of soul searching this week. I found myself in a bit of a financial nightmare over the Christmas period, which is not something I've experienced before really... or at least not since being a student when I basically had naff all money all the time (not kidding either). As a result of this I very reluctantly decided to sell the zed. However, things are now looking up a bit, primarily because my situation at work has changed considerably re: pay, and I'm hoping that perhaps it may change even more favourably after my next review which should be it a couple of weeks or so. As a result of this, and even though the damn thing has caused me no end of headaches trying to get hold of wheels and tyres the last couple of weeks, I've decided that for the time being I'm going to keep the zed. I need to apologise quite spectacularly, particularly to rodders, for generally faffing around with my decision over this. It's not the way I normally like to do things: last time I sold a car it was a very quick operation indeed, but then I guess I actually *wanted* to get rid of it. Not so this time. So like I say, for the time being I'm keeping her, although I'm still mulling it over a bit. I'm going on holiday late next week, which has been booked for a while, and which will hopefully give me a bit more of a chance to think it over. Anyway, there it is. I'll still be a zed owner for the time being, and I can't say I mind that much. :)

More bad news about my leg!
Gutting to hear this. Really feel for you. Sounds like you've already been through the mill with this more than enough as it is, and now for this to happen... Like I say, really feel for you. However, like sarge says: it's amazing what they can do with replacement limbs nowadays, and the way things are going it's only going to get better. Plus, you can count on loads of support from people on here so it is definitely *not* all bad. All the best bud, thoughts and prayers are with you. Cheers, Bart

Interesting Read
Possibly this is something that's different between UK/US/Jap models? Not sure though. TBH I can't see why the US would need it anyway as it's not like their roads are particularly twisty for the most part.... except in the mountains or along the PCH in California.
