  1. ..or Riggers, just adapt your statements to say things like "I was driving on a private road at 160mph etc etc" We all know what you mean, as we're not stupid, but it avoids the above kind of interference. Remember - speed kills period (not the inappropriate use of speed, which more liberally minded types would reason, nope, all speed is dangerous - infact, best leave the car on the drive and start walking everywhere)
  2. Tein have notoriously stiff spring rates - obviously you can change the damper settings, but that doesn't mean toffee if the springs are too stiff. If you set the damper at a low setting then the spring runs rampant and you end up with an ultra firm, poorly damped ride. Over springing a car does more harm than good. You need compliant suspension on UK roads, not track stiff items. You should be able to replace just the springs though, without shelling out for a new damper. Tein are good quality item, just OTT spring rates.
  3. Is this any use? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=1557450&postcount=13
  4. Sounds like you need to fit camber adjustment arms. Depending how much you've lowered the suspension will throw the camber settings out. Although, I would be surprised if it would make it that unstable. First thing to do is get a print out from a wheel alignment place and go from there. See whats wrong and see what you need to do to correct it. For about 15 quid you should be able to find the problem. You may have altered the toe setting at the rear, which would have a pronounced effect.
  5. Most of what Clarkson spouts is utter tosh, but he hit the nail on the head this time. Shoot the fecking ungrateful swines. "Hands of my pension" - shut up and get a proper job, servant. Has anyone noticed the bloody awful mess the country is in right now? Most people have no pension at all, as Hollowpoint said, our state pension will be worthless once we've had to support the ever increasing bunch of work-shy scrotes that breed like rats everywhere.
  6. Congratulations Gary! Have a great day bud.
  7. I agree with the thread starter - 3k buys you a Zed, not necessarily a good one.
  8. Many happy returns Jeff, I hope you're not too close to retirement age - I might need your services for a few more years yet!! Best wishes Leo
  9. LOL - I wasn't a boy racer either, infact I was an excellent driver. It wasn't until someone pointed out that 5 crashes (2 of them lucky not to sustain life changing injuries) in as many years doesn't qualify you as a good driver! Of course, that all happened before I was 25.. Since then I've developed a healthy sense of self preservation. Doesn't matter how loud you shout, to an insurance company you are merely a statistic. But you should be able to get your premium down a bit. Don't forget your postcode makes a big difference - try looking at a house for sale in your area on findaproperty.com to view crime stats in your area.. I paid 1700 quid a year on my skyline 2.0 N/A. I then found out it would have cost the same to insure a 2.5GTS-t. But after 4 yrs it came down to about 700 quid, I still pay that now.. 33yrs, 8NCB, 0 points.
  10. I have Weiseco pistons in my engine, Z1 (US supplier) rate them at over 1000bhp. But this all depends on correct fuelling and mapping without this, they won't even handle 300bhp.. Should be suitable for most engine builds methinks.
  11. ....My beloved 300zx... ...which I couldn't be arsed to wash any time this millenium. Not even before sticking it on ebay, which therefor confirms me to be denser than the mahogany tree which has seeped sap all over my 'immaculate bodywork'. Go figure.
  12. Well done Rob, Glad to see that elbow grease was worthwhile. This must mean that the car is back in the country now? Think I missed the 'I drove back from Germany without breaking down' thread..!
  13. fear ye not, New sills are available from MJP in our traders section. You'll not regret sacking the golf off - welcome to the premier league mate! Edit: and you'll easily be able to get hold of another rad for peanuts.. check the for sale threads - Hollowpoint might have one for sale or stick a wanted post in the wanted section. Lots of people upgrade this part, so probably a few stuck in people's garages somewhere
  14. Hey Daz, aren't you about the same age as Clarkson? What was your fashion sense like back then? Hopefully better than what it is now????
  15. I'd be up for that, especially at that price. Dyno day is the ultimate meet IMO - all get to look at each other's car, with a generous helping of dyon info to chew over post run.. Even if I had to drive 100 miles I'd be there!
  16. LOL - Reebok Pumps (with the big tongue sticking out from under the jeans!!) and leather jacket, truly a combination for the fashion police. How posh does Clarkson sound in that clip though! Sounds like he's just graduated from Cambridge, the buffon-wearing pleb. Thank god I was too young to embarass myself so badly in the 80's. Hmm, that's given me an idea. I think all the old timers should dig out their most embarassing 80's pics and the winner should receive some sort of prize!!
  17. False advertising - I demand a refund!!! You clearly stated pictures, when this thread clearly only has A picture. I would be interested to see a few more pics of the bare shell as I've not seen too many and I've got a few ideas in my head I'm mulling over, which are more than skin deep - so to speak. So if you have any more, please stick em up! Thanks! Oh, time to change your Sig Pic too Alex!
  18. Have to agree - 270 rwhp with a power curve as smooth as silk has got to be a good result. I would suggest the transmission loss is more like 50hp+, although I cannot substantiate that statement! Before you start the modification route you should really consider just buying a car which has already been modified, its way, way, WAY cheaper..
  19. Fuel tank is behind the seats thus allowing the above exhaust route...
  20. I think you'll find your insurance is invalidated if you don't have a valid MOT or legally on the raod i.e: road tax. Tut tut! Please don't give em a reason to crush it - but glad it felt good to be behind the wheel again.
  21. Surely that'll be a SWB? Oui, non?
  22. I thought LED+LCD tv's were the top of current formats? Best of both worlds and all that? Disclaimer: I know NOTHING about TV's but quite fancy getting a new one myself - you still have to shovel coal into my tv, it's also deeper than it is wide and has something called a cathode ray tube. The picture is still a lot better than my mates 1300 quid jobby though.
