  1. If you really are only making 30 in first when on the limiter, the clutch is slipping. There are a few things that could cause safety boost, detonation (likely with 95ron in this weather!), faulty det sensor/wiring, faulty water temp sensor/wiring, faulty boost solenoids/wiring (very unlikely). There is a LOT written up about this on the forum, use the search.
  2. 43mph. This ain't gonna change no matter what you do to the engine. edit - just over half way on the stock gauge sounds like safety boost which would be why it might feel slow. Of course, the stock gauge is total crap so take what it says with a pinch of salt.
  3. Will be fine, those wires are connected directly to the battery after all aren't they?
  4. nice pics, i'm inspired to go get your DVD and put it on now :p
  5. Ken Nomura drives one in the D1 series, quite competetive too.
  6. Says on the side what was wrong with that engine. UPDATE: I took the entire engine apart and this is what I found: 1) Oil pump driveshaft bearings were bad 2) Oil pump driveshaft collar was severly worn out 3) Cam journals were badly scored 4) Exhaust cam gear center hole was worn out possibly allowing cam gear to move on camshaft As for detonation sound, put some marbles in a jar and shake it, thats the sound.
  7. plenty of other cars in there imo, I look at pics of zeds all day every day on here and theres one out in the garage i can gorp at if i want to. This year I will make an effort to see everything at the show, for the last 2 years i've not really left the 300zx camp for the whole weekend.
  8. mr2 tubby would almost certainly beat you to 60 yes. 300zx is a lard arse you have to remember ;)
  9. Can;t be any worse than last year lol
  10. Knock link is only a monitoring device, doesn;t interfere with anything. A very useful tool though, popular in the subaru scene.
  11. OT or what lol, anyway Congratulations :)
  12. No, but I wouldn't be particularly worried, that said, stock water temp gauge is very poor, i recommend getting an aftermarket one to keep an eye on water temp, i'd say once it hits 95 its time to shut it off.

Did you not send your details in for the membership pack?
  14. Pretty sure Danny said he will have a conZult on the club stand.
  15. check coolant temp sensor, TPS voltage and that the closed thottle signal is on with the throttle closed.
  16. I seriously doubt whether the guys on the gate would care if you even have a jap car, its £20 to them either way. Last year we were just asked which club we were with and they gave us directions to the stand and sent us on our way.
  17. Congratulations :)
  18. yep bare laquered metal, mine had gone white and flaked off. Personally though I think they would look good with a fine red outline on the letters.
  19. No the wastegates don't make much sound. Wastgate chatter is not actually noise from the wastegates either, contrary to popular belief that sound is actually the air rushing backwards through the turbo.
  20. Big ones without doubt :p. The Rotora kit getgreddy sells is the ceramic one you are on about, 355mm they are so yes, mahoosive beasts. I think it is smithy on here that sells kits for bigger discs and caliper spacers to use the stock calipers with them. That alone should give a significant improvement if the calipers are in good working order.
  21. I can confirm what retro620ti is saying, the usb cables from legrath's group buy do NOT work with the driver from the blatz website, only the one that gets found online by windows. Also, it will only connect with the engine running if i remember correctly.
  22. Thats more like it :) Very nice. And I reckon get rid of the sticker, don't like 'em much.
  23. must be quite something then  Looking forward to seeing/hearing it :)
  24. Great footage there, I take back everything I ever said about that mounting kit ;)
