  1. Thanks for the advice/support guys Progress made today.. I gave up when I saw the set-back bolts on the water hoses. Somewhat later on I remembered that there were some long allen keys in the toolbox, so i went ot have a look and sure enough there was a 6mm one, just the ticket. Got the allen bolt out of the bottom hose, turned round to the toolbox, and just as i had finished attaching the 12mm socket onto the ratchet extension, the bulb in my lamp blew! Managed to get the 12mm nuts off in the darkness but the pipe aint gonna budge. I'll have a look tomorrow when I get a new bulb.
  2. jesus, wouldn't wanna be rough with that pair, they might snap in 2!
  3. Nice pics, your reg plate says POO though :/
  4. Probably a det sensor problem, check if you have code 34. If not then its either real detonation or temp sensor.
  5. You blind, doesn't say kit anywhere lol. And what do you mean, an innertube aint going to cut it?
  6. mine chucked me off eariler, working now mind.
  7. yes and yes, I started at like 6 though and stopped for advice and dinner so not quite all day, long enough though lol :p Oh yeah and I almost forgot, I dunno what people are on about with crumbly top rad hose mounts, mine was solid as the day it came out of the factory. Also I found the boost leak, the passenger side intercooler hose wasn't clamped at all  , good vac. but it did make a faint howling under boost.
  8. Progress made today.. Not bad considering this is the most mechanics I've ever done :p Oh and thanks to turb0z for the advice.
  9. I have an eheim 1048 pump for sale if you want.
  10. I've used gold class wax and thought it was *****cks, left the paint blotchy. I hope the NXT stuff is better. I intend to buy the quick clay though, maybe it will get rid of the pesky black spots in the paint.
  11. fookin 'ell you jessie, you only eat 3 small meals, whats the big deal here?!
  12. I'm doing a degree in it if that counts :p
  13. AVForums use that same rating system, I thought it was a bespoke system, obviously not.
  14. leaving your car standing to warm up will do it more harm than good mate. Idling the engine prodoces less heat, so its spending more time cold, with thick oil not lubricating too well, and fuel sloshing in in the bucket load causing bore wash. Its best to start up and drive straight away.
  15. agreed, always thought that looked a bit daft :p

origonal turbo's will be at the end of their life at that mileage, if its an auto that will be on its last legs too, engine might be a bit tired too. You are in the states though, things are probably a lot cheaper than they are here.
  17. *****cks to smooth, hows the POWER? :p
  18. must have greased the tyre or something lol, funny though
