Time to decide
lots of good points guys, and hopefully we will get others opinions to gain a balanced idea of what everyone up here wants. I personally think monthly meets are a bit too much for the further travelled, and the older heads, its been 20 years since I used to hang out in the local boy racer haunts!! and to be honest......... No ****it have any of you noticed the amount of tidy girl racers , we should have weekly meets ;) . To be honest though I'd rather be driving the Z than sitting in a car park, so with this in mind hopefully we can arrange some runs, I've got some ideas but unfortunately its gonna be next year before i'm back on the road.

Time to decide
It's time to make a start to try and arrange regular meetings, weve been a bit lax north of the border in the past, time to make amends. To be fair to everyone rather than just going ahead and setting meeting dates and locations. I thought I'd put it to a discussion first, that way we can arrange things to suit the majority and possibly work in a couple of gatherings to help out those who live further away or work different hours. I've listed some ideas to get things started, add your own ideas and thoughts ( keep them sensible please). What intervals . 1. Every month. 2. Every couple of months. 3. As and when somebody can be bothered to arrange one. 4. Never. What Location. 1. Same place every time central location. 2. Different location each time but still in a central location. 3. Different locations each time When . 1. Weekday night 2. Saturday 3. Sunday 4. Varied If you want I can start polls, but thought it better to get some ideas from you all first. Remember this is a club and everyone can have their say, so if you want involved get involved, sure we wont be able to suit everyone with regards to times and locations but will try to compromise as best we can. Cheers Robert

Clutch :(
could just be a hydraulic fault, they seem to be prone to the slave cylinder going, if its that its just a replace and bleed the system job.

yeah right, what you really mean is that when you did a search for men in lycra, thats what came up :D

tension rods
They look similar to the ones you can buy of the traders on here, but can you be sure they are the same quality, remember the Z is a fast heavy car. That can create a lot of stress on steering and suspension parts, do you really want to risk saving £20 on a component as safety critical as a tension rod.

New Regional Events Organizer - Scotland
what have I done...Must have had a few too many last night :D Cheers guys and nice to see you all come out from your hiding places now! ;) Will be looking to you all for info on events, contacts etc and suitable places for meets, they have been a bit sparce around here the last year or two hopefully we can get a few in before the end of the year. My motors still off the road so may affect me making some meets but I will attend when I can, as long as you dont start slagging of the pug. What are your thoughts with regards to regular meetings, other areas have monthly, do you want that or due to the mileage some will have to travel every two months or so, its up to you let me know. Suppose Id better get the finger out and fix the car now.

whats happing to this culture
They can make the law as tough as they want, they could even ban guns altogether, fact is that its illegal guns that are the problem and always has been, the change of law only affects those already complying with it in the first place. ban guns and it will only stop people who legally use them ie gamekeepers hunters, sportsmen ........the fookers who run about shooting people dont have registered guns, and if they dont use a gun they will use a knife, screwdriver, hammer, metal bar, baseball bat, car etc........ so do we ban all those as well PS. yeh I am involved in shooting :D (legally)

Schmokin
I would try that first then give the car a good run and see if its helped. pretty cheap to do so you wont really lose anything if it dont work, you would kick yourself if you get your tubs overhauled then find out their ok. If you are unsure of whats causing a problem always try the easiest and cheapest fixes first.

Complete twat tailgating on the way to work today
:D..... Ive driven 44 tonners in my last job, they are ok I suppose but the best fun I have on the roads is when towing my caravan, us caravaners have competitions to see who can create the biggest rolling road block ;) . back to the topic, yeah ive been there and lost the plot then you realise that youve just become as bad as the twat whos cut you up etc, because youve gone too far you cant report him, better just to take his number and report him for dangerous driving............ better still anonomously phone the cops and tell them about the bloke youve just seen trying to entice little kiddies into his motor........ you wont see the results, but when you get home crack open a beer sit back and imagine!

Anyone here run their diesels on vegetable oil?
Taking a risk with kero though, its a dryer fuel than diesel and doesnt give the same lubrication properties as diesel so theres a danger of causing damage to the injection pump.

my sticks gona stiff (oo er)
seen people put the plate in the wrong way and getting the same problem. On the other hand it could be as you say and the plates seized on the splines, and what you say may work ....be warned though ive seen a lad trying to cure the problem youve got, on a tractor by starting it up in gear the thing fookin took off and smashed into a truck at the other side of the workshops which was up on stands with the wheels off (knocked it up of the stands, then landed back on them, lucky cause there was a guy half under it at the time) turns out the lad had fitted the friction plate back to front!
