  1. No more additions to the night out then :nono:
  2. Are you going for new, or trying for a set of used.
  3. :( another problem, you aint had much luck with that car so far!, hopefully the slight misfire youve been getting is down to the injector starting to go and you get back to smooth running soon!
  4.  A man talking from experience.
  5. but thats because you are a woman and is nothing to do with the car :D
  6. Welcome. As already said try a search. To get a balanced view on these cars read as many articles by different people as you can find, people have had various experiences, ie insurance varies, repair costs etc, one thing to be mindfull off is these are not run of the mill cars and many garages either will not touch them or if they do will charge an arm and a leg because of what they are. My experiences are 1. Drive = :D , take a run in one and you will be hooked. 2. Spares = Not as bad as you might think if you shop around. 3. Insurance = Cheap, classic policy limited milage and i,m an old fart. 2. Fuel = dont ask, not bad on a run, crap around the doors If you still need some advice then come back and ask. Then decide whether a 300ZX is for you. Its a lot of car for not a lot of cash, but you need to look after them.
  7. Gotta agree that sounds a bit more serious than the usual lifter noise, more of a knock :( . If yours sounds like that I'd get it looked at pronto before any serious damage is down, deffo wouldn't be running around in it
  8. Pedantic fooker.... Never stripped them out so I don't know, however once the oils drained away from either set up it will cause the rattle :p
  9. Sounds like the oils run out the tappets, mine does the same after its been lying a while. Your needing to give it a good run :D
  10. Other thing to watch out for is the original seam sealer drying out between the panels, I found a couple of gaps in the sealer when I removed the front wings, right at the base of the pillars, this would likely let water track down the inside of the panels. not sure whether the water would get in to the cabin, but its either that or down into the sills.
  11. No probs.... I knew a lot of people would have nights out before Christmas thats why I made it after.... dont suit everyone though.
  12. The sills are done, I've now got the fuel tank and back boxes off to do some of the rear panels and chassis leg sections. Sorry to hear yours is also now needing sills :( . The meeting during the Christmas hols is planned on being a few drinks and mabey something to eat, if you want to come along forget the car and jump on the train...
  13. only if you can guarantee that the air will be lead free!
  14. the car looks stunning now Bruce
  15. Dreaded tin worm! needed to do the sills so started poking around to see what else needed welding. I ended up with a fookin big list, sills are done just some chassis repairs and a couple of rear panels to do now.
  16. Good lads!
  17. Ok time for a head count. As there has not been any alternative ideas to having a few pints and mabey something to eat in Edinburgh on 28 December thats what it is going to be! Can everyone who intends to meet let me know so I can arrange a decent meeting place and sus out somewhere for food. i'll get the list started 1. Ossian. I reserve the right to change the event location to Falkirk if no other parties put forward their names to attend. Hang on there aint no lap dancing bars in Falkirk...... Edinburgh it is!
  18. Its zeds your talking about, theres always something to be doing to them and I think most of the guys have had some problem or other. Mine has been off the road for nearly a year now, but i've set a repair by date of spring time or there abouts to have it done by :D. Hows your car doing and also do you ever see Scotty (is he still into Z's)
  19. It's all clear now!, visiting Aberdeen.....you just didn't want any sheep jokes. :D Welcome and your added, keep an eye on the forum for any arranged meets whilst your up here.
  20. :) Welcome to the Scottish Regional forum Nick. I recon there will be a region far closer to you but if you want I will add you to our merry little band. We dont meet that often, but that would probably be better so that you dont have sell the house to pay for all the fuel running up here.
  21. Yep I would, but then again up here we do anything...including bikes and pavements :D
  22. Welcome to the forum, your now on the list.
  23. Have you rechecked the wheel nuts ?
  24. At least that lot have been smart enough to hide their faces.
  25. All MOT stations should test to the same standards, so you should find one pretty close to you who will be able to test the car, If you go to one and youv'e got any concerns over any failure items gimmie a shout
