You should have contacted VOSA :sneaky2:, they are there to make sure that MOT stations arent failing things incorrectly as well as correctly identifying faults.

LOL is that the hotel on the way up to the castle, nice hill isnt it! I drove down to Falkirk from Ullapool yesterday afternoon, boy was that interesting. Granted I was in the daily and not the Z but believe me it is no better in the snow, BMW 530D touring with 255's on the back dosent make a good snow mobile. Drove in ruts in the snow in white out conditions from Inverness to Kinglassie with the car bottoming on the snow at times. For nearly a 40 mile stretch I dont think I got over 30mph. There was one funny bit though, the guy in the Saab who missed the Aviemore turn off by 20 yards, and was sitting on the verge his face looked a picture.

As previously advised not an MOT failure, It would be different if you had cut some holes in a panel leaving jagged edges which could then be construed as damage. I would however stick some tape over the hole's. Not for the MOT but to keep the snow and rain out :)

100% wrong guys, No matter whether it is a small back street garage or a large main dealer MOT's have to be carried out to the same standard. Yes there will be some differences of opinion when it comes to assessing some borderline defects, but a tester cant make up his own rules or deviate from methods of testing or basic failure criteria such as you are suggesting. If they do then they are risking their authorisation to test FACT!

That does look really good, though if your not having the diamonds on the seats I would also leave it of the door cars. I pass transcal every morning on my way to work (Im only 2 minutes round the corner) there are some tidy motors parked outside at times
