  1. Guess what, went home via Killie .......and no fookin rain! The sun is splitting the sky through here and apparently has been all day.
  2. Apparently Nissan don't supply the bushes separately, if you want to go down the oem route then it will mean a buying a new subframe assembly (sounds kinda expensive). Energy suspension do poly bushes, they advise that the outer casing of the original bush is left in situ. Driftworks also do bushes which are supposed to be a direct fit, however they need packing spacers to maintain the correct subframe to chassis clearance and also spacing washers to pack out the centre sleeve. Probably the easiest to fit will be the Energy Suspension ones, but if youve already cut out the old bushes that may not now be an option. One member on here has fitted the ES bushes after removing the originals and said there didnt seem to be any problem. I'm sure some of the other guy's will be able to clarify.
  3. Ok will give you a call in the morning before I leave and get your addy then
  4. Are you going to be in tomorrow, late morning?
  5. I'll see what I can do, probably not much help though and by the sound of it you've already gone through the things I would suggest.
  6. What end is that on the left, looks more like a joining peice to me. Would have thought Jap and UK pipes were the same. A long time since I did mine but from my recollection they were the ones on the right (standard fittings ) and mine is a UK.
  7. Now there's the perfect answer to the question, well put Jeff :thumbup1:
  8. lol I fooked up and put pounds instead of stone, cant really see me as a gymnast some how. re-done and yep weightlifter more like it!
  9. It's worth having a wee browse through the classic car forums, those guy's know there stuff. What I think you will find is that Waxoyl is not rated anywhere near some of its competitors. I spent ages surfing the net for recommendations at the time I was replacing my sill sections. I finally went with the Bilt Hamber product but the others are highly recommended. http://www.bilthamber.com/ http://www.dinitrol.co.uk/ http://www.rustbulletuk.com/ There are also some good anti rust paints out there which may suit your purpose better than a wax based spray. I used the Eastwood rust inhibitor paint from this site as well as the cavity wax. http://www.frost.co.uk/
  10. I'm planning on escaping for a few days within the next week, but havent decided exactly when yet. If I can make it along on Saturday I will.
  11. Lol or for us oldies who dont check there either
  12. Just stumbled upon this tonight. Not sure if it's been posted before, but it's the first time i've seen it. Could come in handy if you are looking to identify parts. http://www.z32photoguide.com/
  13. Next meet at yours, then we can all have a look scratch, our heads and rip bits off.......probably wont get it running but could be fun
  14. If the belts jumped then it may be worth doing a compression test
  15. This may help http://www.zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/detonationSensor/detonationSensor.html
  16. It was standard arms fitted with polybushes that caused the problems. The original polybushes bushes seemed to be the problem. I think the manufacturers of the bushes designed modified ones which provided a little more compliance which solved the problem. A lot of us went down the rose jointsed rod route.
  17. Lucky the arm didnt pull out, no wonder there was a knock!. Quite a few of us had exactly the same issue a few years back. It was put down to the uprated tension rod bushes having too little give in them. Its worth checking whats on your mates car or it may happen again.
  18. Escort MK2 1300L Opel Manta 2.0 Toyota Celica Supra 2.8 Rover 2.0 Turbo Vitesse Peugeot Estate 1.9TD Currently E39 530D Touring 300ZX And thats in 26 years, I tend to keep my cars for a bit :)

  20. thats pretty good, a bit of a brief glimpse though
  21. Ok mod's own up! you all clubbed together to bribe Colin to post that didn't you :detective:
  22. There are a few advantages for fitting undertrays, directing air flow, protection from water and foreign objects in the engine bay as has been mentioned. But iirc the main reason that manufacturers started fitting them was to reduce noise emissions from the engine. I wouldn't worry too much!
  23. Ok what time? same as usual?
