  1. Damp here too, and no sign of it drying up. Hopefully the forecast is right
  2. Cheers Lee We are going to be a bit closer to Edinburgh if you fancy popping over, Halbeath Leisure Park at Dunfermline, Meeting at 12:00. Don't know how long we will hang about there as we are heading up the coast, but should be there till at least 12:30
  3. All the arrangements are now over on the other post though so it could have stayed closed
  4. lo Just when I was gonna post up a rant about heavy handed modding
  5. Fish n chips it be, where are we going to meet then? hows about in front of KFC in the retail park at Halbeath interchange 12:00......be a bit like home from home. We can set out from there
  6. I'm easy guy's, can go with the original plan or do the east neuk for fshhhhhh n chips. Only thing is I have posted on another site that we are meeting at Stirling at 12:00 so will have to let them know asap
  7. :) youve been upsetting people havent you :slap:
  8. Spent all afternoon dropping repairing then refitting the fuel tank so that I can go to the meet. so I would kinda like it to go ahead! No point in having multiple threads for the same subject, so can we have it opened up again so that we can finalise the arrangements.
  9. That's not sounding too good then. My sill's were bent back as well when I bought the car, when I went to straighten them I found that they were badly corroded. I replaced the sill panels and the drain tubes. You could try and straighten them to see what happens but I would not be too hopefull if the tubes are kinked.
  10. 12:00 if everyone is happy with that, looking at the forecast we should have did it today!
  11. Even better if he gies us a tow - - - Updated - - - What time do you want to meet on Sunday
  12. It all depends on how bad it is, is there any sign of corrosion. If so then probably the best bet is to cut out the affected area and replace with new metal. If the metal is solid then it may be possible to have the dent pulled out and the lip straightened. Either that the lip straightened and dent filled which would be the easier/cheaper option. Are you certain the targa drain is damaged and that its not just blocked?
  13. Other way to go is silicon sealer, seems lots of folk are using it now in place of gaskets. I used high temp stuff when I refitting my exhaust and it seems to have done the trick.
  14. I used to do wheel alignment!what are you trying to say? :2guns: Some things never change :), you still up for leading the way?
  15. lol your begining to sound likey Mikey, I thought it was just about finished
  16. Ok I need to do a temp repair on my fuel tank then :)
  17. Are you guy's still up for this?
  18. They look good Sandy, and they have one major advantage over the current ones......a thousand time easier to clean :) . I do think the look of the car will totally change and possibly take it away from being Steve's or Andy's car, but then it may be time for a change!
  19. Do a we search on the forum the subject has been discussed numerous times. This link should help http://300zx-twinturbo.com/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=gi&dir=&config=&refresh=&direction=forward&scale=0&cycle=off&slide=22&design=default&total=25
  20. Yep as I said they probably have improved, it's probably 25years ago when I first seen them. Call me old fashioned though I think I will still avoid them.....unless Im really stuck and need a quick fix at some point :)
  21. Sure is, but then in some sort of sick perverse way I enjoyed cutting all the rot out fabricating new panels and welding it all up. Saying that I just hope yours aint too bad and that it's just the filler pipe thats affected. Just go easy when you are taking out the little bolts securing the pipe to the tank. Mine came out without a problem, but they could be easily broken.
  22. ^^^^^^^^^^^ I'm with John, thats brilliant
  23. Just make sure you can trust the garage to do the job properly and that they dont just use filler on the sill.
  24. Personally I would not go down the route of the universal split gaitors I would rather do the job properly. I remember them from years ago and back then they were crap, who knows they may have improved vastly since then but I would not bother with them. To my mind they are just a quick fix and not really long term. Both the lock nuts and track rod ends are regularly tight to come off. As has been said a bit of heat can help, also a couple of hammers can free them off. Something like a club hammer held at one side of the nut and smack the opposite side with another hammer. Give the exposed threads a good wire brush first and once you start things moving squirt a bit release fluid.
