these are old cars now, and shouldnt be expected to be 100% trouble free. If you want reliability buy a new car, and even that aint a guarantee that everything is going to be alright, I know a few people that have had nothing but bother from brand new cars. what aint right is when people do bodge jobs on cars to hide faults then sell them, then the buyer finds out a couple of weeks later that he has a huge bill to pay (dont think this is the case in this instance)

The other thing is when your driving the car can you hear water slooshing about, there would need to be a fair amount of water lying in the gap to then get into the car so you would probably hear it. if you do find its the sills then be prepared for mega welding work cause they gotta be ****ed

But have you checked with the carpets out, It could be possible for the sills to fill up but I think its unlikely to come into the car the water would usually drain down between the sill panels. To come in from the sills the water would really have to build up over a period of time, therefore becoming stagnant and im sure youd have noticed the smell before now. Although the water is lying at the front footwell that dosent mean its coming in through the door or bulkhead it could be from the boot or rear side window. one car i had filled up the footwell, eventually traced the fault to a tail lamp seal, the water was running down the back panel along the floor of the boot under the back seat and onto the floor. Like everything else with faults on motors be prepared for the worst but check the easy options first because more likely than not its something simple. ripping the sills of then finding that the leaks coming through some lose grommit on the bulkhead or something else easily fixed would leave you mega :hurl: If the leak is really that bad then get the carpets out and watch where the waters coming from you may have to remove door trim rear panels etc

My condolences to his family and all who knew him. I know its said its their job, but these guys are hero's and in no way do they get the full respect they are due from either the goverment or Country.

double check the door seals, the most likely culprit if it is happening when the vehicle is stationary. sit in the car and get someone to spray a hose over that side of the car, see if you can see anything coming in. you may even have to remove or pull back the carpet to check properly, water is a coont and is often hard to trace the source of the leak

early veilside ????
     Two months after buying mine I took mine for a run to my sisters at Ullapool way up in the North West of Scotland in the middle of January, and fook me did it snow. between Inverness and Ullapool I got caught in a blizzard. wide wheels + 300bhp + rear wheel drive + snow + twisty roads = 30 miles of ass twichin driving, and that was even without the deer that were wandering about the road every other bend
