  1. :hurl: Sorry guys but ive got to disagree. dont like it in the least, theres just something about the lines that dont flow and make it look like a kit car (it looks a bit like a Marcos, but a Marcos works I dont think that does) . I love 240's and 260's but just dont like that....
  2. fook! you could use that spoiler as goal posts.
  3. It does look a lot better now though :)
  4. FFS I want to go there!
  5. black Z coming out of ASDA Grangemouth today, nice motor and even nicer looking driver ;).

  12. Not a problem, the cars in the garage just now and have only started cleaning the paint (caty and fibre fill ) off to see the extent of whats needed. usual attached garage syndrome you can only see one side of the car the others up agaisnt the wall but it may give you an idea, I'm taking it outside once its all prepped to do the welding. May be better to wait till then to get a better idea of the job, but your welcome to come down any time. Apart from the middle of the night :)
  13. Thanks for the offer, top guy yet again and what this clubs all about, but i dont know how long i'd need it and dont want to impose or get you in bother from the work, rather than cause any hassle id rather hire the kit. PS you know where I work and so did the cheeky fookers who supposedly plated the sills before . if I can find the receipt the local trading standards guy will be visiting!!!! ;)
  14. :) was planning on a visit, just as soon as I get everything prepared and the regulator and metal purchased.
  15. thought it was ok nothing startling and as stated a bit slow id have given it nearer 5 out of 10.
  16. Hmmm sounds interesting ( yi can keep the pokin an prodin ti yirsleves though)
  17. Thanks for the tips, thought about the oil, but from what i can gather better with cheap fresh engine oil, old oil has too much acid content from the engine combustion process. I'm intending to paint what I can, and zinc weld through primer all areas to be welded, then either spray oil or waxoyl into the difficult to reach parts..... unless anyone has any better ideas? Still no answer to the sheet metal thickness though :(
  18. Ahh Alan and Jeff the motor should have been in good hands then
  19. havent heard of any Z specialists, there is supposed to be someone in Bonnybridge thats good with Jap performance motors but havent dealt with them myself and cant remember their name. Give Paul (paul300zx) a shout hes in Edinburgh any may know someone around there. I try to do all my own work A. because Im a stingy coont and B. I dont trust many others to do the work properly ( backed up by the fact ive just found out the robbing cowboy *******s i payed to plate my sill returns 2 years ago welded them with reinforcing mesh fiberglass and caty  )
  20. thanks for that, already looked into the pros and cons and decided on the argon co2 mix, may cost a little more but anything that helps me weld a little neater is a bonus :D
  21. fook wish i'd stayed with BP they get to retire at 50, would only have had another 9 years to go instead of the 24 I have now :(
  22. Im going to mig weld it, or try :) just need a bit more practice. the plan is to cut out the thin rusty bits so that ive got decent metal to weld too, I was intending to use 1.2mm metal for a bit added strength as its the sills but looking at the original metal it looks a bit thinner more like 1mm which would be far easier to work with. I really need to decide soon before i go out and buy the sheet metal, the supplier only sells it in large sheets so want to get it right before i buy. oh and i'll need to come down and hire a big bottle of co2/argon, those little ones are crap and last no time! Hows your car doing now? hope youve got the bits and pieces sorted
