Crap Headlights
Yes mate, there is an easy way and a hard way. 1. Just have the hid dip beams stay on while flashing - easy 2. Have hid dip beams stay on if they were already on when you flashed, BUT don't have them fire up if flashing with dip beam off (during the day letting someone out of a junction for instance). This is the harder one as far as level of wiring required but it is healthier for your hids, they don't like firing up for short bursts like a flash. Choice is yours but with hid kits being so cheap these days and the little night time use my zed sees, I'll be going for option one when I get round to ordering mine.

Crap Headlights
No you don't use HIDs for hi beam mate, they're not designed for that as they take a bit to warm up which aint good for flashing folk...in fact have a search for the thread about some additional wiring which prevents you having a moment of darkness with hids fitted to dip beam (if you flash then the hids go off with standard setup and then when your hi beam finishes flashing you have a second or so of the hid warming up with you in the dark if you wire it up the way the normal instructions tell you to). I'm sure its H3 your after for dip beam.

£600 worth of tyre with FREE 3piece split rims for £290
5x114.3 in the pcd - if they weren't that pcd then the holes for the studs wouldn't line up. the 'jj' bit is the width of the wheel. To give a more accurate guestimate just put a couple of plans of wood on front and back and measure the distance. You could get an idea of the offset from this as well. That's what people really need to know for clearance etc Some info here - http://www.alloyguide.com/pcd.php but there are a lot better guides I've seen before if you have a search mate.

£600 worth of tyre with FREE 3piece split rims for £290
hahaha - just realsied this part from my post "don't know if they can trust a strangers guestimate of 8 inches" may come across wrong - I'm not suggesting Alex has told you that's what 8 inches looks like

£600 worth of tyre with FREE 3piece split rims for £290
If it helps...since they were cheap I did look at them for putting on my z31 or to use as winter wheels on the z32 but some of the reasons I lost interest: - doesn't really matter how much the tyres were when new, the sizes aren't good, not everyone (yourself included) likes the stretched look...the more rubber on the road the better - the ad states you aren't sure of the widths, I know you from this forum but other ebayers don't know if they can trust a strangers guestimate of 8 inches, for all they know they might end up with weak 7 inch wheels - it’s not hard to measure them and put a definitive size on the ad - no courier delivery available as you don't trust them with the wheels, you've just reduced your potential buyers massively to those within a reasonable radius of you - you tell people that they have to work out for themselves if they will fit their car....but the only info they have to go on is a guestimate at the widths (jj as you state), there is no info on the offset which is so important when fitting wheels - IF they have a zed then they have the info on the spacers to go on, if they don't have a zed then they have no idea if these will fit with the info provided - for the spacers you have "I'm told are 5x114.3 " which puts some doubt in the readers head...if they were fitted on a zed (which we all know they were) then they must be 5x114.3, its listed in a different font which looks like it was thrown in as a late edit, possibly a change from saying they ARE 5x114.3 to 'I'm told...' - I'm not suggesting that's what happened, I'm sure you forgot to put it in until the ad went live and went back to add the extra info but as a stranger on ebay the former could have been a suspicion - a lot of people have been stung on ebay and are very cautious Please take the above points in the manner in which it was intended - constructive feedback to help you improve the ebay ad for next time round to hopefully sell the wheels. Buying the right wheels is a nightmare even if you do have all the relevant info about widths and offsets and near impossible without - unless you have the same car as the one they have just come off and you could see the stance etc.

Fitted my HID kit today
Well done mate, this was on my maybe list and now migrates to the definite to do list. Was thinking about just getting cheaps ones off ebay, doing the quick mod to keep them on when flashing, then just replace when they go pop...but your pic and simplification of instructions has made this less intimidating. Cheers

anyone got a garage/ lockup they wanna rent in manchestet
Keep phoning round others mate, I've had the z31 and z32 insured for the past 5 years parked on the street, both on classic policies with various companies. Had a few knock backs at first with them wanting it garaged but then found lots of other companies that were fine with it being on the street.

space saver and hubcentric spacers
Save yourself the money on the tyre weld and just unbolt the spacer?? :whistling: or am I missing something?

Last Irvine cruise of the year
I was flashing at you as your mini convoy was heading to the roundabout at the magnum, I was in the carpark on the left and then there seemed to be a mass exedus so we (me and the black celica that was behind me) figured the rozzers had moved folk on. We sat for half an hour and got a look at most motors on their way out at least :cool3:

Last Irvine cruise of the year
That was me in the red zed that crawled past and tooted at you lot when I was trying to get parked. Went to the magnum carpark to let it quiet down a bit and then you three went past heading off so i never got a chance for proper introduction or a look at your zeds.

Last Irvine cruise of the year
Was thinking about running through this afternoon but facebook says 7pm-10pm. Anybody know if this is a speed bump free zone? Wouldn't want to show up minus my front bumper

I hate Gordons ford
I've had loads of fun in mine, its been super chipped and has a peco exhaust so its not a zed but its still no slouch! Does for the commute and for running the dog to the park...zed for everything else though! I replaced the heater control valve when I got it, now a couple of years later I got the same problem, ordered another one but didn't fix it! That's when I discovered it was the circuit board this time. To check the circuit board, when radio removed its just two screws to remove the heater control pannel. The circuit board is held in place on the back by two small torque screws, take the board out and inspect, mine was clearly fried. If the circuit board is OK then its defo the HCV, here is a link to the 'how to' - only hard bit is trying to undo the hose clips because they tend to be pretty stiff. http://www.fiestaguides.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2750 If it is the HCV then let me know and I'll bung one in the post to you. The one I removed was working perfectly, I just assumed it was bust until I found the problem with the circuit board...so now I have two!

I hate Gordons ford
I've got a zetec s as well, rather than wait for them to resovle it - the heater control valve is a tenner on ebay and takes 5 mins to swap over. If its not the control valve then its the circuit board behind the heater control panel, I just repaced mine with one from the scrapyeard yesterday for £5. Its easier to check the circuit board first, you can at least see visually if its scorched...just in case you replace control valve only to find it still blows hot!

which colour wheels?
You don't have to ask me twice :tt2: I was never a fan of black wheels until I got these, I think having a dark tint on the windows when running on black spokes though. Sorry for pic sizes

Cool Check This!
This has been posted in the past - you still have to put your key in the ignition and give it a turn before hitting the start engine button (making it pretty pointless), its not like a normal engine start button setup. It looks Ok in the photo but very cheaply made, i imagine that flip top bit would be on the floor in a matter of months.
