  1. They must treat it as a Give way sign, which is why its there fault if an accident occurs, just like any give way sign. This is what makes it Legal. If it was illegal then they would not be allowed to do it. The police can also legally direct other traffic through a red light.
  2. Really the question should of been which vehicle "except emergency services"....as the emergency services are legally allowed to go through red lights. They just have to treat them as Give ways, which is not the same as it not being legal.
  3. Code34 (det sensor) is reset when you switch of the ignition. If the car is still in safety mode then the fault is still there.
  4. I suspect he's breaking it as worth more in bits, so doubt he'd sell whole...or at least not for a reasonable price.
  5. Insurance is covered/included by the Courier, as part of the delivery charge.
  6. £5 each. Only worth doing if you have a whole load of them. Used to get £50 per cat at the scrappies, which was £100 for the Z cats
  7. Yep, these things tend to come with a universal actuator, which you connect to one of the rods in the drivers door that runs to the locking mechanism. Its the same setup for aftermarket alarms with remote locking too.
  8. Stock (9 psi): Safety mode/Boost leak : However the stock gauge is famously unreliable/innaccurate and should never be relied on.
  9. Are you mad !? A set of high quality geunine 99specs for those nasty fake ebay jobbies. Yours are worth 3x the cost of the fakes. They'll fetch £200 easily 2nd hand. If you have to do it, then get some old style stocks on there while you sell yours and wait for the tacky ones to arrive. Loads of them lieng about that nobody wants.
  10. the other option is to source a complete 2nd hand lock set with titanium key. This is what I ended up doing, paid abot £50 for the set but its more about the work involved in swapping out all the locks.
  11. ok, found my original thread from couple of years back and it was these guys http://www.directcircuit.com/categories/Automotive/Nissan/300zx-%28Z32%29/ but no mention of it on the site anymore :( I expect its who czp were sourcing them from.
  12. nah, it was'nt czp I was thinking of.....hang on I'll check....
  13. I think traditionally you have to be a bit mad about cars to buy one.....becuase of there known issues as an actual car. The older Alfa's fit thise stereotype better, A car your would buy yourself but would'nt actually reccomend to others. The 156 is a bit too mainstream though, while still having reliablity issues. The older Alfa's had more character. I had a 155 V6 also, and it was definatly more of a drivers car than the 156 was.
  14. LOL too right. I've had 2 Afla's , including a 156 . Quality is the last word I'd ever use to describe it. Unique Styling but very poor quality parts and build and not a patch on the performance or handling of my Bmw with the same size engine. You cant compare the two, completely different leagues. Plus everything that could go wrong with them, did go wrong. They have a big list of very common issues.
  15. Nissan dealer or MJP for the black and red. Although the blanks quite often appear on ebay too. Their is a company in the U.S supplying replica Titanium keys for about $100 I recall. Cant remember name but somebody will know.
  16. Standard TT Pump is 255lph
  17. 13 - Mostly "other crime"
  18. Rears will fit nicely. You'll want a spacer on the front, you may have to fit a spacer for it to clear the calipers, but if you want the front to sit with a nice flush stance you'll need proper hubcentric bolt on spacers - 15mm.
  19. Dont confuse Turbocharged and NA exhaust flow requirements, very different. In each case backpressure is an undesirable side affect of decreasing the exhaust flow velocity, its never wanted. With a TT - after the turbocharger you want the gases gone as quickly as possible, minimizing the pressure downstream of the compressor, Bigger the better, although after a certain point going bigger wont have any benefits. While decatting a TT does offer some power increases its more about the response and spoolup improvements, and its noticable. With an NA its all about the flow velocity - too large and you slow the velocity which reduces the scavenging affect of exhaust gas pulses at low revs. Which can result in a small torque loss at lower rpm. Scavenging is far less beneficial at higher rpm though.
  20. Done, and good to see a fellow engineering student in the FS program. Im also involved with my University. We are enteried into class 2, but with plans to have a Class 1 ready car finished for the event - in preperation for next years development. Im head of the 'suspension, steering and braking' Team. This is our first actual developed car, and the research and development time is getting pretty immense. Spent a lot of today working on the Wishbone upright design.
  21. Its what you were implying. Anyway, have you seen the receipts on new cars - quite a lot of my company cars have had options added that bring them up over the cost of higher models.
  22. Does'nt need to be listed in the brochure. Everything is available for extra. Do you really think they tell a customer No when they come to buy a new one.
  23. it might not have came as standard on the version S, but it would have been an optional factory extra.....so I dont believe being purist really comes into it. If you like it then add it. I personally think the LWB does'nt look quite right bare.
