ebay 99spec tails
I see. Better question would be to ask for the part number on the back.

ebay 99spec tails
why would you want to know what Z they came from ?

Seems slow
Boost pressure with Aftermarket gauge Compression test You could even try some 0-60mph , 0-100mph timed tests to check if it is slow or just in your mind.

Uh Oh...
ah, in that case. You could sell it as it is, but unfortuantly you would be luck to get 1000 for it, most likely less. You could break it for more, but its a lot of work and time, and takes up a lot of space to break a car. If your handy with the spanners, drop 500 engine in. Job done. Alternatively your looking at about 500-800 labour for somebody to remove and fit an engine for you. Well said...although Its funny you should mention Honda's as I was only thinking the other day that the most unreliable car make I've had is Honda, despite their excellent reputation. I've owned 3 Honda's, including my current daily driver. Two of them, a Honda HR-V and a Rover 216(Honda engine) ended in castrophic failure with conrods through the block, and as of this week my daily driver Accord will only rev to 3k rpm as the MAP sensor appears to have failed on it. :headvswal: Im sure my experience is an exception. However In contrast, I've owned 4 Z's over the past 7 years. Excluding the slicktop, the other 3 were daily drivers and super reliable and cost less to run in Maintenance than my much newer Daily drivers, including new company cars.

conzult prices, and where to buy?
In my opinion, yes. Both Conzult and Datascan perform the same main functions. They will both read Error codes and display the output of all the sensors read by the ECU with datalogging abilities. You can also perform advanced problem finding tests such as adjusting timining and idle, switching off Cylinders..etc Conzult - is a lot more expensive. It has some additional, but less used features such as Hicas and Aircon Diagnostics. Datascan - is a lot cheaper. Easier to use and allows you to view all the sensors in a easy to see Analog gauge format while driving. It also has functionality for measuring vehicle Performance(0-60mph...etc) utilising the cars own speed sensor.

Uh Oh...
I was trying to be cost effective, price is about right, based on experience, but yes you could easily spend a LOT more though. Depends how wild you go, parts used and who's doing the work.

Uh Oh...
It would be out of 2 options for me, depending on budget and Intended goals. 1. If you wanted big power, say 500bhp+ and had the budget (£4000-£6000), then a Fully forged engine rebuild, headwork, Bigger turbos, injectors, intercoolers, manifolds. 2. If budget was smaller, and not looking at huge power (up to 400bhp). Then Replacement 2nd hand engine, that can be seen running and compression tested before purchase. Engine £500-£800. Fit yourself, or same amount of money again for labour. I would not advise purchasing an unknown engine. Your current bottom end is scrap though. You need a new bottom end if your getting it rebuild. If you stick to a 2nd hand engine, then its worth considering investing in getting Turbos reconditioned (£250-£600), Cambelt kit and EFI Loom (£250) at the same time.

conzult prices, and where to buy?
Conzult is available from DTA. Unforuntatly the DTA UK is sadly no longer trading, so you would need to buy from the main DTA site - http://www.dta-motorsport.com. They sell it as a Hardware & Software package 269 euro , or as Software only 139 euro. Alternative, Nissan Datascan is quite a lot cheaper and is available from http://www.blazt.biz/. Blazt sell hardware and Software, the cable is a lot less bulky than the ebay thing but Datascan work with the generic ebay hardware too. Hardware & software is 66 euro, software only is 28 euro. They also sell a Datalog viewer tool as well. Personally I feel conzult makes an excellent workshop/garage tool, but Datascan is a better tool for owners. There are various limited feature free bits of software out there too, which come with that ebay hardware, there not up to much but they allow you to see error codes and some readouts.

still no whoosh , need help plz guys
ah, if its the SSQ version, then its dual chamber and has no adjustment. I cant see your pictures, im currently on a shitty gprs connection, usually you would just use the vacumn pipe feed that the stock recircs use, but thats when fitting them in the stock recirc location where the vacumn pipe is right there.

They'll need adjusting, so that they open correctly, they often do unless you get lucky with the factory settings. Should be an adjustment bolt/nut at one end. You want them to open when you lift off after building up a few psi of boost, but you dont want them opening under idle or will cause all sorts of stalling and idling issues.

Anyone owned a TT & an N/A
here you go then http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=150074 its basically the same thread, from a couple of days ago.

Sneak preview .... lol
Looks great

Anyone owned a TT & an N/A
Much Easier, Cheaper and more efficient to fit stock TT parts to an NA engine - Manifolds, Turbochargers, piping,.etc and run on a low boost pressure.
-
Anyone owned a TT & an N/A
In regards to a stock NA vs TT - Its not so much about the 50hp difference.....but the 90 Ib/ft of Torque difference that's really relevant. I thought the U.S NA is 225 ps, and the Import is 230ps. Either way, it doesn't make any difference. Im a fan of the NA, they can be great fun. But ultimately I always missed the power of the TT and its tuning potential, although I didn't get a Z to commute around town and sit in traffic with. Ddepends on your own needs and from what you said the NA may well suit your requirements better.

Anyone wanna join the SWB club?
Except for when the engine blue up shortly after becuase it had a boost controller poorly removed when he purchased it with vacumn pipes not connected properly and was overboosting. He refused to help. Then another well known member had a similar issue with a car from him, He agreed to pay this time, but messed him about , putting him and the garage that worked on the car out of pocket and causing a lot of hassle.

Anyone wanna join the SWB club?
For those not aware - Lee & Import-ance (at least that was the name back then). Ex-club trader. Banned a couple of years back. The Expensive one is Sgt_C's old Z, a well known club car. Lee's been trying to sell it for the past 2 or 3 years, price keeps going up and up.

Member's list
It really does happen all the time. We often have ex-regulars returning after long periods of abscence..wether it be becuase they have new found enthusiasm for their Z or becuase they have purchased another after selling up years before, or just becuase they pop-in to say hello to old friends. Plus if you get rid of an account then all the posts for that person stops becoming searchable - you would start losing valuable content from the forums.

Next year and what it means for national events
Its good to see a more proactive approach to the clubs NEO position, and future events & meets. Hats of to you. Can I suggest us getting more involved in other large regional events, such as Japfest. There is also japfest 2, held at Santa Pod as well. The club used to work closely with Zclub in event participation, and attended a lot more Events until a few years ago. It would be great to have the club more involved in popular events that other clubs attend, for the benefit of the club and its members.

losing the will
The Fitting an Induction cone filter does not cause the car to run lean, or any of the symptons you mentioned. Your suffering from a boost/vacumn leak somewhere or there is a problem with the MAF connector. The Z's electrical wiring can be an issue at this age, the connector terminals become corroded and the wiring fragile. Check the terminals inside the connector, and file any corrosion away (usually green/white). Check all the clamps are tight after the MAF, and check for any small vacumn pipes that may have become dislodged.

Had A Look Round This Today [458]
Dont like the rear end, but certaintly would'nt say no to one. if by decent 300zx, you mean one with 600bhp+ , then yeh.

pads for R33 GTR calipers
Ferrodo DS2500 - Often presumed a Track pad, but they are excellent for road use. They still bite better than oem when cold, and are amazing when hot. Pricey though. They are the most popular brake upgrade on the Z, a very good fast road setup.

Pick up my zed tomorrow!!!
Good luck with the purchase. I've not seen this Z in person, but I knew Brians previous Z very well, and it was a no expense spared well cared for example. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=142978

How many verts in the UK?
Thats Shunters Vert (our ex-Club Secretary) Not sure where he got the number 4 from though....we must have at least a dozen on this forum alone, and I've driven and worked on 6 or 7 different Verts that I can remember, several of which are not on the forum. I know a family that owned 3 convertible Z's just to themselves. More like 25-30 in the UK I would guess.
