Whats a manual TT diff worth?
They dont really sell - They never break (or I guess I should say very very very rarely ever break) and are not an upgrade for anything.

Anybody done the unthinkable?
The simplest reason for not fitting a high end diesel engine is that it would take a good 30,000 miles at least to recoup the cost - and you end up with a slower, less enjoyable car to drive thats been an absolute ballache to convert. Modern performance Diesel Engines are not cheap second hand. Then you have all the custom fabrication of Engine mounts, bellhousing adaptors, piping and wiring looms. Plus the Z32 engine bay is not very tall which introduces a lot of problems with engine heights. You'll need custom fabricated sump and/or alterations to the Subframe, which causes issues with steering rack position - introduces bump steer and other suspension alignment issues. Not to mention all the downtime of the car off the road. Everything always takes longer and costs more than expected. If the car is too thirsty to afford to run - is spending thousands trying to make it more economical the right way to go?. Use the money you would of blown on converting it and enjoy driving it instead, or buy an economical Daily driver and use the Z for fun. LPG conversion makes more sense than a Diesel conversion. It can cost a lot less to convert, making it easier to recoup the costs and performance/driving characterstics should not be significantly affected.

Battery Ground lead
You can remove one of the top bellhousing bolts from above. By reacjing down via the Battery area. Just remove one, slip the Battery earth strap back over it, and put back in.

how much does a ZX TT Weigh? and what weighs what?
Your guessing and have made a lot of mistaken presumptions, whereas I have weighed everything with a set of digital hanging scales. As with all my measurements, they include everything removed that was associated with the item. In this case thats the Carbon cannistor, all the metal pipelines, vacumn lines, brackets and bolts. No, that means I removed the TT PAS Setup, and fitted the NA pas setup and that is the weight difference. No you dont need front foglights in the UK, only rear fog lights. This is saving from removing the front seats and fitting lightweight bucket seats. Front electric seat is 28kg Front manual seat is 18kg My car is a SWB it never had rear seats. Currentkly nothing but I will carry Foam puncture weld, like many modern high performance cars. That probably includes the rear wiper motor that I removed with it, and forgot to list seperatly. Weighed with a set of digital hanging scales Its far more than just a piece of fabric. The entire plastic housing and the roller inside too. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=45222&stc=1&d=1227984904 You will find that the other person that commented on that was joking in agreement of how heavy the things are. The stock spoilers absorb water over the years and become very heavy.

what wheels fit....
Supra, Skyline, 200sx s14/s15, Rx7, 350z...... prob others that I cant think of. PCD 114 (or 114.3) is what you need to look for. The above have the same fitemnt, but not nessarily the same centre bore or appropriate offsets (which can be sorted with adaptors and spacers)

I cant find the stock bonnet weight, but less than 5kg

how much does a ZX TT Weigh? and what weighs what?
Steel bonnet may be a later model thing, but I think you probably have an aftermarket pattern part bonnet. You literally need 2 people to remove the stock Aluminium bonnet just to prevent it blowing away , its very very light. All of the aftermarket CF bonnets I have felt on a Z (admittadly only 2) are heavier than the stock Aluminim bonnet, and many others have experienced the same. They tend to have to be made thicker for more rididity- and typically fibreglass frame with a Carbon fibre top made up as a resin wet layup. I think the only one available that may be full CF is the Border hood, but its still not really any lighter.
