ABS: Food for thought
let us know when you have ;) without some proper tuition and experience, I'd say that most of us would rely on ABS in an emergency situation. There is quite a difference between knowing what to do in an emergency situation, and actually doing it when the time comes. :(

wheels and tyres
Yep, 8.5 - 10"....although Im not sure if you can go as wide as 10" on 19's with stock arches. But 10" is fine for 18"

wheels and tyres
Using that website you mentioned http://www.performancealloys.com , and using there "find by car model" feature. It game me 11 pages of alloys for 18" and 19" ranging from 7.5" wide up to 10" wide.

wheels and tyres
Yes, 19's can fit but 7" wide is too narrow, you'd probbaly only be able to fit up 225 wide tyres on them. Stock UK rear alloys are 8.5" You'll need info like PCB, Offset..etc to find out correct fitment.

uk fronts same as jap?
yep, replace the damaged fronts, but keep your UK rears for the extra width.

Door mounted seatbelts
The Wires for the Dashboard warning light come from the the unit that you plug the seatbelt into. There are seperate wires that run into the Roller unit, these are for retraction/tightening device in the seatbelt, not all Zed's have them it would seem. Some people have found that a clip inside the roller unit become dislodged causing them to not retract properly and the other cause is that the spring weakens over time, but a pair of replacement units can be sourced quite cheaply from the breakers on this forum.

uk fronts same as jap?
Yep, the fronts are identical. Its only the rears that differ, with the Japs being 7.5" wide, and the UK being 8.5" wide (but UK rears also fit on Japs and vice versa)

ABS: Food for thought
very interesting read. There solution is specific Braking kits that will work with the standard ABS ECU settings....but what about the alternative of ABS ECU repogramming....is that possible, allowing reprogramming of the stock ECU settings to match the new Brake components ?

Dragstrip
The stated Mr2 Turbo 1/4 mile times are similar to the zed - High 13's low 14's The zed would kill an Mr2 Turbo at anything over probably about 50mph and its top speed is only about 150mph. ..oh and Golf VR6 1/4 mile is considerably slower at low to mid 15's secs. No idea about the Civic Type R, but I would expect high 14's, low 15's...and again the zed would blow it away at high speeds. I did'nt buy a zed to go as quick as possible down a 1/4 mile bit of tarmac. Thats just one aspect of performance, and the zed still does pretty well at it. Mid-range and top end it seriosly leaves all these newer little pocket rockets standing still. and Im sure a Type R is a good handling Hothatch..but its FWD (Urgh!)...and I know for sure the Zed would destroy a Golf VR6 on the bends and all other situations...except for its turning circle when parking ;)
