  1. they are well proven, well documented and accurate figures Something was wrong with yours, simple as that ! You had a bad experience with a bad example, and therefore presume thats the case for all zeds.
  2.   oh dear !
  3. 0-60 in 5.5 secs and 170mph+ standard is a Semi-fast car ? ..and your trying to compare it to a modified example of an old cheap shopping trolley with one of the worst images of any car in the country. :xxx:
  4. Yep, its all about buying the right car. There are a lot of bad examples out there, that have been uncared for in their past. Usually becuase people see how cheap they are to buy, without taking into account running costs. It will cost more to run than an "normal" car, but buy a well looked after example and you will find them very reliable. They are well built and strong cars. but need to be well maintained, just like any high performance car. Dont forget - that on any car forum, all you will ever hear about is "problems". Owners dont post up about how reliable their cars are on a regular basis. Most are around 13-15 years old and there will be wear and tear issues with any car at this age.
  5. I think the RPS Sport Clutch is the most popular upgrade from a stock one. Handles up to 540 foot pounds of torque, and has stock-like feel. Smithy sells them at about £350
  6. Hi, and Welcome :) First thing - Yes to the Auto Oil cooler. Essential for a JDM Auto, on european roads if you intend to do a lot of Motoway miles. The Restrictor is after the cats, but I would recomend the Mongoose Cat-back exhaust, as it has the stock look, better flow and still pretty quiete. There is a risk of Failing turbo seals when you reduce the exhausts back pressure, but in reality if the seals are ok, then there is nothing to worry about. If they are about to fail anyway, then the reduced back pressure will speed that along. In-line octane boosters - General concencus is that these are a waste of money gimick. If your unable to get more than 13psi with the boost controller, then its likely you have a boost leak somewhere. (Mines ECU has no affect on amount of boost) Not heard of the Diff mod. Other than fitting the NA Diff ratios for increased acceleration, but I dont think thats what you mean.

    That number is correct.
  8. Thanks Steve, exactly what I wanted to hear. Count me in :)
  9. where's the pics ? ? ?
  10. all adverts for the Mongoose Z32 exhaust says the same, but as far as Im aware the fitment for Euro and Jap are the same. (perhaps they mean the SWB)

  12. did u run the Consult/ECU test, after the car had been driven and boost dropped without switching of ignition ? If the fault only occurs once its warmed up and you try and go on full boost, then it may not show if you run the conzult after just switching on the ignition. Symptons sound like a possible faulty det sensor (all is fine, till you try and go on boost, then it goes into safety mode. Switching of ignition resets it again)
  13. So at anything under 4500rpm it makes considerably less power than stock turbo (up to 100bhp less in some places) ? That does'nt appeal to me, when you think that the car probably spends 80%-90% of the time at less than 4500rpm. :x: Although guess I'd need to drive a similar setup to be able to really compare the advantages and disadvantages.....convince me :)
  14.  very impressive !
  15. Working clickable link : http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/m.watkin1@btinternet.com/album?.dir=/dbe4 (no need to mess around with the hyperlink tool. Just write or copy and paste url into your thread, and the forum will automatically convert it to a URL when you submit it)
  16. I could be interested too Steve......How do these differ from Danny @ DTA's version though ? (stronger, cheaper ?)
  17. Seen that a lot here too. Usually so they can move it from one side of the road to the other. Most of them are empty too, without the expensive camera part or film in, as they transfer them to other cameras.
  18. About... NA - 145mph TT - 170mph +
  19. Congratulations !! :duffer: :duffer:
  20. Yep, All Convertables run Standard NA Zed engines. Except Topless's ,as he has been clever with a spanner and its now Turbocharged
  21. The Auto can be very fragile, and does'nt like to handle much more power than standard. the Manual however is very very strong, failure is virtually unheard of and is able to handle double the stock power output without problems.
  22. NA 222 bhp 198 Ib/ft 0-60 : 7.0 secs 0-100 : 18.6 secs Top speed : 140 mph (restricted to 112mph) TT (Euro and Japan) 280 bhp - 300bhp 283 Ib/ft 0-60 : 5.5 secs 0-100 : 14.5 secs 1/4 Mile - 13.8 - 14.2 secs Top speed : 170 mph + (Uk restricted to 155mph and Jap to 112mph) Although, Car and Driver in 1992 got the following figures from a SWB TT : 0-60 mph: 5.0 sec. 0-100: 13.1 sec. Quarter Mile Time: 13.7 sec. Difficult to Value a 95M NA, as they are so rare.
