Sad to see a Zed have to go to the scrappy though as nobody will buy it becuase of the mileage, when it could be perfectly fine without any form of rebuild :(

How many trim types?
Luke @ Zcentre sells with/without brakelight.

Tyres
yep, Goodyear F1 GSD3's, I wont fit anything else to the rear. For the front however you can afford to go some something cheaper if you wish.

Whats your Favourite stretch of road?
Have to agree with Cornwall, there are some fantastic roads there, long winding twisty roads with low hedgelines where you can see ahead of you for miles. There are also a lot of narrow twisty blind roads in cornwall that are horrible to drive round too. I rarely make note of roads names though, so could'nt actually tell you which ones. :headvswal

How many trim types?
Trim code - as in interior trim difference ? Check VIN plate, Im sure it says Trim code as well as color code. Only Uk models came with the Nissan and Twin Turbo Badge.

Barry Scott is a liar...

280 bhp and 300bhp MODELS
If im doing 20mph in second gear (manual TT) and floor it, it will spin the rear tyres, snake a little down the road and shoot off like a rocket, and thats with Goodyear F1's and stock boost. Have you done an ECU check ? Do you have aftermarket boost gauge to show what boost your getting ?

Zed tried to kill me !
Cheers, have knocked it back, and will put some loctite on it later. Suggest everyone else checks theirs, in case its slowly making its way out and getting close to linkages.

Zed tried to kill me !
Throttle pedal has been feeling a bit notchy for past few days, then yesterday it got stuck open at 1/3 throttle and would'nt release. Bit of a scary moment. Tried pulling it up with my foot under pedal, going thru the gears (bearing in mind I was travelling through small residential road) before switiching ignition off and pulling over. Took a look today and found the Cam cover breather pipe did'nt seem to be sitting properly in its housing and was rubbing against the throttle lingage. I suggest everyone also checks theirs !

Whats going to win? you vote

Fastest Zed
Dont tend to drive at excessive speeds, but Toyed with a Focus RS on the way home from Ross-on-wye meet. He would'nt move over, and kept his foot to the floor.......he had to move over for me when he hit his is Speed limiter(or Reached his top speed) though :x: (naturally this was on my own private racetrack, and do not condone excessive speeding in anyway on public roads)

300zx on TV - Used Car Roadshow, Men and Motors
Full engine rebuild with 3.1 litre conversion..etc It did look very nice. It actually said that he valued it at about £10k, but he refused an offer of £15k that same day.

300zx on TV - Used Car Roadshow, Men and Motors
Used Car Roadshow - Men and Motors Did a feature on Modified cars, and how little they can be done modified for. Blue 300zx with Lambo doors, 19" Alloys, Viper rear Spoiler, 3.1 litre Conversion, custom leather retrim, full ICE build. Owner has something to do with company called Knightsbridge Performance? Paid £1200 for car  , spent a further £6k modifiying it. Turned down cash offer of £15k on it.

selling up
Sad to hear mate. A Very unique car that has had a lot spent on it.

Insurance Difference - 200sx v 300zx
but a lot of that would be down to the Value difference(1999 zed versus 1990 s13) ?

need input re: impreza
Respect to them as a great all-round all-weather praticle sports car. But common as muck with cheap plastic interiors. When they came out they were regarded as the more espensive eclusive version of the Cosworth, which had started to get the "chavvy" sort of image. Now its the other way around ! I had a Celica GT4, and went to testdrive a K-reg WRX about 5 years ago. Came away very unimpressed. Felt like a Quick Hothatch, whereas the Celica GT4 felt like a quick Sportscar. Performance was very similar to the Gt4 and grip was equal but just did'nt feel as special or as well built.

How easy is it to find a Uk car?
Fine choices. I was in a similar position before I bought mine. Had Bmw's for years, and was going to go for the M3. Its declining image problem was putting me off, started looking at Japanese instead. checked out a few Skyline GTST's, but their Interiors were a let down to me, pretty much like a typical Nissan primera, and you can tell money had been spent developing the GTR engine and 4WD system, and skimped elsewhere so the GTST really lucked out. Its not as powerfull or as fast as the 300zx and did'nt look half as good especially without the GTR bodykit. The Porshe 944 Turbo was a great Sports car, in fact it was rated as the No.1 Sports car in the US Market until the 300zx knocked it off its spot on its launch!. The 300zx was designed with the 944 Turbo and Corvette in mind. Faster than the 944, with equaled Track lap times, but with the Comfort and quality of the 928. In the end the 300zx was the car I had wanted ever since I was a kid. More development and money had gone into all aspects of the car, faster and with more tuning potential and in my opinion the far better looking car. When I realised I could finally get one, there was no looking back.

Where can I get?
For Jap Import you either need a H3C headlight bulb, or convert the housing to accept a regular H3 headlight bulb (involves wiring up the an early wire) - Cant find instructions right now. I thought I saw H3C bulbs in halfords the other day, but have definatly seen them on ebay.

How easy is it to find a Uk car?
Brakes are the same, both uk and Jap are undersealed, and there are many Stock Japs (mine was), and most others only have the sort of Mods you will want to add anyway (Alloys, Exhaust - saving about £1500 instead of buying after). The Limiter is very easily removed. The Jap Imports have no oil cooler for the Autobox, if your after an Auto. £100'ish to add. Not an issue with manuals. Jap regulations on Maintence are far stricter than the UK and in general most Jap spec cars tend to be in better condition becuase of this and becuase they usually have half the mileage that Uk cars have. Nothing wrong with Either UK or Jap, they are identical except minor spec differences (Indicators on bumper in different location, Electric folding mirrors on Jap, need to add rear fog to Jap, speedo in KM on Jap(most already converted)) Good luck with the purchase.

You have an Ebay Coupon!!

How easy is it to find a Uk car?
If Insurance is your concern, in choosing a UK over Jap, there are many insurers that ask only a neglidgable higher premium, or no higher at all for Jap over UK. There are less Uk's, becuase the production was only until 94, and less were sold here, but there are still plenty about. I would look at Condition, transmission type, colour, spec..etc rather than UK or Jap when choosing.
