  1. If its Training and Qualifications your after then most Colleges run Vehicle maintence evening courses. If your after learning zed specific mechanics yourself, then there are many guides on the Net for all aspects of zed repairs and maintenance. Check out the FAQ section here and http://www.300zx.org.uk for starters.
  2. Many Many zed owners have these ;) Take a look through the various ride sections.
  3. There rating system is different to ours. Its actually similar ron ratings to the UK USA use MON. we use RON.
  4. I've had a Passat 1.8T, A4 and a A3 1.8(non turbo) as company cars in the past. 30-35mpg average mpg, good build, nice to drive. A3 does lack in the interior space department, notably rear leg room. We could'nt fit the kids Babyseat in the car, it had to go in the front!. Plus my Legs were always getting in the way of the steering wheel (Im 6ft 2"). Steering was responsive and quick, but lacking feedback, and the same applies for the brakes. But all-round good solid upmarket Hatchback. It is one of the most expensive hatchbacks to run though, with Parts and servicing costs. In fact, considering the A3 will cost at least an extra £1k - £2k to purchase over the zed selling price, it would be cheaper to run a Zed over the next year or two !! The Golf is a better buy, with the slightly lesser prestige badge, but it does offer better rear leg room.
  5. Danny @ DTA has taken over the Hardpipes and silicon from Smithy
  6. There were non genuine Megan copies cropping up on ebay, which people had fitment issues with. Not a problem with genuine items. Chris @ getgreddy has decats in one of his xmas offers
  7. Respectable figure on low boost, but.... 0.4bar is only 5.8psi (thats less than safety boost..sounds like boost leak if thats what you were getting) Stock is 9.5 psi or about 0.6/0.7 bar
  8. Japfest in May at Castle Combe, Wiltshire ;)
  9. You will need this : http://www.zcentre.co.uk/spoilers/zc007ab.htm and have a look here too : http://www.zcentre.co.uk/spoilers/important.htm You will need to get the remaining holes filled, and the tailgate resprayed,
  10. Congrats Nick, Pleased for ya....What a great Xmas pressie ! Welcome to the Darkside :D
  11. I have to agree and disagree with that...the NA is certainly not an allround better car, and I reserve the right to make that opinion, as I own both a TT Manual and a NA manual. It does have its advantages...potentially more reliable, potentially lower insurance, better average mpg...all add up to lower running costs and the performance difference means that hopefully somebody with less experience is'nt going to wrap it around a lamp-post quite so easily. However, selling your poorly NA for a TT is not the answer. Its much wiser to get your car properly checked out and running properly before a decision like that is made.
  12. I 2nd that. NA exhaust design is critical for optimum back pressure. Universal boxes will have negative affects on Power curves, not to mention fitment issues
  13. Yep, RWHP, and I suspect StgV means - Induction, Exhaust, Chip, 1bar boost on std tubs.
  14. I see you point here...but it will mean paying the engine-out labour costs twice :(
  15. Looks great ! Fantastic improvement.
  16. Amazing. It really does'nt sound like a blowing exhaust, but a quality aftermarket system.
  17. Good news Allan, I so nearly purchased Teins myself, but just could'nt justify them without the need to fill a wide arch kit. Quality Product.
  18. Its definatly time to go visit one of the Zed specialists. Something is very wrong, and they will be able to sort it.
  19. You can also very easily convert the H3c bulbs to H3, it basically just involves wiring in an extra earth from the bulb to the housing surround.

Hi Scott, Thanks. No Headunit ;) Full in-car Computer hooked up directly to Amp. Everything (Mp3 Music, Video, Satnav, Datscan...etc) is controlled from the screen which is a Touch Screen Monitor.
  21. Dont believe a lot of the hype from the mis-informed. Uk and Jap are pretty much identical apart from minor differences, but obtaining parts for both is the same, available from dealers or independent suppliers The differences are: Uk had wider rear wheels Uk had rear fogs but no front fogs Jap has front fogs but no rear fogs Uk speedo in MPH Jap in KPH UK Auto has auto cooler Jap has electric folding mirrors Jap has rear lap belts and seatbelts on doors up to late 92 UK has electric adjustable rear shocks for sport/comfort (operated by lifting handbrake handle one notch) UK's can suffer from rust and will be usually be higher mileage.

If its a vibration you can feel through your arse at around 50mph and lessens when it warms up its definalt prop related. Either Centre bearing or rear gearbox mount most likely cause.

Very common with the stock rear spoiler, and unfortunaty respraying it wont last long. They are bonded and screwed on (4 screws under the plastic tailgate trim). Your paint code is on the VIN plate under bonnet.
  25. Mike at MJP (In traders section) can supply them. There are inner and outer bushes on the hicas arms. The Inner ones come with the arms and the outer ones come seperatly. They are the most likely causes of rear wear, but wear can also be from the upper or lower link arms or Antiroll bar bushes. Get the car up in the air and check play by wiggling the wheel in various directions checking for movement. Another cause for a loose rear end is the rear shocks. The suspension takes a lot of abuse from the weight of the car the forces put through, If the car is on 50k+ miles and original suspension then the shocks and spring will be worn.
