  1. That thing has about 260 hp...some of these new hothatches are stupidly fast Something as simple as Improvements in tyre techonlogy would have a serious affect on lap times over the years....you can bet the standard fit 300zx tyres in 1990 have no where near the grip of todays top tyres.
  2. Yay...I can imagine what a relief that is. :D
  3. It was today......did anyone go ?
  4. I could get 32mpg with cruise control set at 80mph on long journeys with my old TT LWB p.s SWB & LWB tanks are same size, and will hold 72 litres...you shouild be able to easily get £60+ in there. If you can only get £50 in then fuel gauge is incorrect and its not as empty as it says it is.

  6. Excellent pics Pete. I'll try and get some more pics up
  7. I've seen 8:40 written somewhere for the standard 300zx, on its launch , when it beat porsche's top testers in their 928GT by 6 seconds. Cant find it now though....still looking...
  8. As said, you have a misfiring cylinder, which is going to be becuase all the wiring and coilpacks and been disconnected and disturbed when engine was out. Pull each coilpack of 1 at a time....if the engine note does not change then thats your misfiring cylinder. Check plugs are pushed on correctly, wiggle the wiring....unfortunatly the 300zx wiring tends to get very brittle with age from all the engine bay heat.
  9. I paid about £140 for the window strips, targa strips and the small ones on the tailgate for my old 2+2 through SWZ ! Well worth it.
  10. Panic over.................... Im here now ;)
  11. from what I recall I've only ever seen them unpainted including S1, s2 and s3's With the series 4 onwards (i think) they did'nt bother with any boot sound deadening at all
  12. The Manual says 3.4 litres with filter change, but you will find just shy of 4 litres to be ideal.
  13. Goodyear F1's GSD3's have always had a good repuation but I would recommend Falken 452's, you just cant beat the performance for the price, easily as good as the F1's but more keenly priced.
  14. :nana2: Congratulations to 'Paul@SWZ' and 'anna' who got married today ! :nana2: it only took her 10 years to get him down the aisle :) Have a good time in Florida and see you both in 2 weeks time.

CONGRATULATIONS to MR and MRS Paul Jarvis. I Just got in from the wedding and reception, was a great day that went well for all. Neither bottled it and the day was a success LOL There away now for 2 weeks, sunning it up in Florida.
  16. ...and a lot more power than that. Jun 300zx - 1200hp - Stock transmission. Z1 Convertable - 1000+ rwhp - Stock transmission and plenty of 500 and 600+ rwhp zed's in the states.....and proven 10sec and even 9 secs 1/4 mile zed's with stock transmission......and that requires a LOT of power. The weakness in the stock Zed transmission (like many jap transmissions) is Snycros, 4th gear syncro in particular, and power is not the reason for premature synro failure. Personally though I would go for a Borg warner T56 6-speed gearbox, which came in cars such as the Aston Martin DB7, Corvette, Camaro Z28, Dodge Viper, Monaro. Very capable and its Ratios (particulaly the ratios used in the Camaro Z28) would be an interesting setup for acceleration, mid range and top end.
  17. I had a land rover bonnet open on us at 60mph today and hitting and covering the windscreen, blinding us and nearly causing a serious crash. Paul@SWZ and Anna also got married today.....not sure wether thats good luck or bad luck and for which of them LOL
  18. Yep, luke = Zcentre. :)
  19. Luke used to sell them, they were definatly listed on his old website, but no I dont see them now. Worth giving him a ring though. Im pretty sure the Indicators are Mazda Mx5 items !
  20. I believe jim fitted the TT injectors to supply enough fuel for the NOS setup. If you dont intend to run Nos on the new engien then yes you could retain the NA injectors. The doolz setup causes far more problems than its worth. I had John map the ECU for the TT injectors on that car when it was having Manual conversion done and the biggest headache for mapping was the Dual intake, which is why it was only running a tempoary map.
  21. They will only need verification if you have requested an agreed value insurance. If so, then there is an Insurance valuation service offered by zclub.net , who has offerd his services to 300zx.co.uk members too. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=43628
  22. Yes, but those are just electrical differences with the Auto ECU. The autoboxes themselves are the same.
  23. Yep they are the same for all years and all regions.
  24. I have been looking for a replacement rear bumper to fit in with my slicktop plans, and that just looks ideal....I want! Best looking Z rear bumper I've seen.
