  1. Kinda....Vents in front wings can be used to alter Air pressure within wheel wells for improved aerodyamics and lift/downforce (turbulance affects under diffusers..etc). ..but Viper front wings (for example) are just for show and dont serve that purpose, especially on a road car.
  2. Absolutely. Although there are examples where you will want Vents (uprated power will often require nose panel and Bonnet vents needed for cooling)....a race car needs better aerodynamics..etc Major alterations where a purpose is served.
  3. This would be my idea of Fully kitted and stunning upgrade without going OTT and to me it looks like it could of rolled of the production line as a facelift or special version  No need for silly unneeded holes and lambo doors. It also has proper high quality strong lightweight wheels (volk Te37) instead of the all to common poorly manufactured overweight cheap bling wheels many have fitted. Quality and Continuality is where it counts. The U.S has a lot of nicely modified examples without going OTT

  5. I plan to do something wild & wonderfull....but it depends how drunk I can get her really :x:
  6. In case you did'nt know how to already , follow link http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/member.php?u=5393 click on "find all posts by user" and you can read up on the cars history :) One of the benefits of buying a club members car :)
  7. Depending on how bad the exhaust I found that it might benefit from starting with some moist 800 grit wet and dry sandpaper, moving to 1200 then onto the Autosol.
  8. True, it is much deeper...I guess it all depends on What sort of stuff you want to carry. My Golden Retriever loved going in the back of the wifes 2+2 Zed (false boot floor and spare wheel removed)....it would'nt be so impressed in the Vert
  9. 1) There is not really any noticable scuttle roll, but you can tell the chassis is'nt as stiff as other Z32 models, it does feel different to drive. 2) Autobox - Quite often comes down to your own preferences, but wether you like Auto's or not its not as much fun to drive or as quick as a Manual. The Autobox is the Z32 weakness though, in terms of reliablity. 3) Convertable only available as an Import. UK only got the 2+2 TT. Im afraid its likely you will have to travel to find the right car. The z32 is pretty rare and the Converable the rarest of them all. (I did a 500 mile round trip to get my first zed, and my current zed was a 1200 mile round trip to collect!) As a convertable only option I think out of your choices the S2000 would tempt me. Its more of a sports car than the Z32 Vert which because of the NA only engine option and the heavier weight is more a Summer cruiser. Really depends on what you want from the car. Best advice you can receive though is to test drive one(or more).
  10. Any noticable changes in low revs power or torque ?
  11. Probbably in a couple of weeks once Numbers finalised.....we could sort deposite initially and final payment neared the event, depends on preferences.

Apologies for slight hijack but this http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=106559 would be ideal for your April Meet as its near the South west and South Central border.
  13. I've seen quite a few Manual gearbox Vert's....never really thought about wether they were available in Manual form or not...I guess they could of all been Conversions. Its a popular upgrade for all Z32's , I know SWZ have specifically converted 3 Auto convertables to Manual. The Convertable is probably the least praticle of all Z32's becuase of the smaller Saloon style boot rather than llarger hatch. You will be able to get a couple of PC's with Flat screen monitors in easily though. Average typical Z32 MPG wether na or TT seems to be typically around 22-25mpg...stretching towards 30mpg on Motorway. As said the Convertable was only available as an NA. I only know of 2 TT conversions in the UK, one if which was done by and is owned by Paul@SWZ and it may be for sale in the near future. (the other being Topless's example) The vert is'nt really about speed though, like most Convertables its heavier and slower than its coupe counterparts and does feel more cumbersome and softer in comparison, but its all about the Looks and the Open air driving.
  14. J1mmytt has already replaced the gearbox mount with a Nismo jobbie. While yes there are several causes for Prop vibrations (gearbox mount, U.J ends, Prop alignment) it is usually the prop bearing but its easy to tell on inspection if its torn or sagging. It always worth changing the gearbox mount too as they sag with old age. I've fixed an exhaust hanger vibration issue previously too, with the mount not sitting properly in its hanger, the metal hanger was touching the metal of the gearbox mount given a very similar vibration to a drivetrain issue. I've not yet fitted and driven with a 1 piece prop, but there are loads of reviews on the U.S forums from those that have and reported no noticable vibrations. As Jack mentions, if you still have vibrations with the 1 piece..then thats not the culprit.
  15. Drop exhausts Remove headshield You want to seperate the prop in the midle where the bearing is (I leave the rear half on the car), but make sure you mark it with tipex before you do so you know which way to both them back together after. There are 4 bolts to undo to seperate both halves of the prop (you'll need 2 17mm spanners from memory) and will have to spin the prop round to get to each bolt. You will need handbrake on to be able to undo the bolts, and have to take it back off to turn prop each time..bit of a PITA...it can be done by pulling on the handbrake cable just above the prop and releasing when needed though. Then there are 2 more bolts holding the bearing carrier to the car. It just pulls out of the gearbox end. Then you need to undo the large nut on end of prop to get the bearing carrier off. Its a lot easier with an Impact Air gun. ....or you can just fit a One piece lightweight prop for more response/power and not have to worry about the dreaded centre bearings again :)
  16. here is the front pics : Not my fav, but it is very nice. The Colour helps.
  17. 3. Another take on it, by far the best nose panel I've seen - Wagz Smithy
  18. Is it any good ?...not watched it in years.
  19. Function over form. Doing its job is much better than looking pretty ;) hate them on road cars though, which is why Im probably going for the seperate swappable setup
  20. nasty ricer/chav mod IMO. Most of those hinge kits would'nt last very long with the weight of the Zed doors anyway.
  21. Legrath - 2 admission , 2 track time Anthonyd - 2 admission BigDavezx - 2 admission madmarco - 2 admission, 2 track time. Lisaf - 2 Admission, 2 track time Paul@SWZ - 2 Admission, 2 track time Made a guess for how many tickets and track times you wanted Paul, let me know if different.
  22. Yeh..will have Front and rear under diffuers for improved downforce too but was considering 2 spoilers such as 99spec for the road and an adjustable GT wing for the track....depending on mounting positions.
  23. I've removed the fibreglass stock replica that mine came with (in sig), just undecided what to replace it with atm.
  24. Going to put a standard back on yours si ?
