  1. The lifter treatment unclogs/unblocks them and usually works in my experience.
  2. :slap: ok, Im blind, I see now. I thought for a monent you were going soft ! :p
  3. Repost ;) Cant believe you did'nt comment on the rediculous spoiler si !
  4. S2 onward cars seem to have the bigger connector wether its got Heated mirrors or not in my experience. I had to fiddle with around with a Multimeter and solder them up instead.
  5. Hang on NO - all Imports will not be insured as Fairlady...dont rely on the insurer calling UK cars 300zx, and Imports Fairlady...its all down to whatever they decide to call it on there system ! Many insurers will only have it listed as 300zx....and will later on ask if you if an Import or UK. If they dont ask, then it presumes its a UK car and they dont insure Imports.
  6. I think you've got a bit carried away with the NA tunability there Mark...its nowhere near as tunable as that... Apache's 243 bhp figure was at the fly !! (189 rwhp) with 210Ib/ft torque. Thats about a 15hp increase over stock NA power and 40hp down on a Stock TT with 70 Ib/ft less torque. Its the torque difference that is most noticeable when driving them. As a tunablity comparison a TT with Chip and 1 bar boost (£100) would make around 350 fwhp and 340 Ib/ft torque on (average).....thats over 100hp and 130 Ib/ft torque more than the above NA. Having looked through all the Dyno threads here and in the U.S, I've Seen 1 or 2 with around 220 rwhp with the full mods you listed above but seems to be about the max out there. Unless you can do all the labour yourself then cost to get there would be more like £2k if you had it all done at same time, more if done seperatly. Very few get above 200rwhp (with chip, headers, induction, exhaust). ...and thats on U.S Dyno's !
  7. Not in the case of the Z32, where all you have to do is bolt on the TT parts to the NA engine to turbocharge it, whereas Supercharging would require custom parts. There have been a couple of supercharged Z32's in the states. Superchargers were mounted in place of the Aircon pump.
  8. Are we talking Flywheel HP or Rear Wheel HP here ?
  9. He already has ;) http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=106323
  10. Battery could be on the way out or a bad circuit putting excessive drain on the battery. Get yourself a Multimeter and test : a. The Battery voltage with enging running (should be over 14v) b. Measure the current drain on the battery If it is a circuit draining problem then you can pull fuses 1 by 1 to find the culprit, the Multimeter current/volts will show an increase when you pull the fuse for the circuit thas causing the drain.
  11. Ask to see the old shoes and discs. The handbrake shoes are very thin, but I suspect all they really needed was adjusting...hard to say though.
  12. oops..yeh I meant you, I mis-read who I was replying to (thought it was you that posted).
  13. I know this thread is 6 months old, I did'nt see it the first time, but just saw your pics in the rides section. Fantastic looking example !!!
  14. UAS = http://www.uniqueautosports.com/ They say its exclusive to them, and has to be fitted by them only. Not much good outside of Aus.
  15. Just remembered, there is a NA tuning forum - http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=108 (Members only)
  16. Power upgrades - Induction Exhaust Headers Chip Decat Lightweight Pulley Lightweight Flywheel - I would guestimate the setup above on a healthy engine could net an extra 20-30 horses at the flywheel. or going more extensive/expensive : Head porting/polishing Cams High compression pistons May see somewhere up towards 270-280hp (again just a guess, not looked into it myself). Would be quicker than a TT because of the lower weight and rear gear ratio. There there is Nos.... (which is probably the best power per pound upgrade on an NA)
  17. pmsl. Im going to get a Nismo Uprated Hamster now
  18. Looking at your other thread - you have the Superstreets ? They are quite a bit softer than the Flex's and RA's, so may be a case of trial and error really and your own personal preference. Start mid way for and go from there.
  19. I would say at low speeds 80% of traction is down to Tyre choice. The other 20% is suspension setup (and diff) then as speed increases aerodynamics plays its part. Your running stock wheels at the moment ? Get some sticky tyres and a wheel setup with at least 255 or larger width. Subframe spacers will help get rid of the wheel hop. I see you have coilovers, how stiff have you set the rear....too stiff will limit weight transfer to the rear under acceleration. Also Get the alignment checked, and setup to ensure that under weight transfer the max contact tyre patch area is on the road. It may be beneficial to get the Coilovers properly setup for preload and height with your corner weights measured.
  20. NA's are great !! I loved my previous NA. (I had a TT before that, and a TT again now). Make sure you get a Manual, a NA Manual is much more fun to drive than a TT Auto IMO ! They like to be revved, more responsive, lower weight, much easier to chuck about and sound great. As for reliablity, have to keep in mind that you do have to rev an NA a lot to make the most of it, so an NA that is driven hard can have had a harder life than a TT. The NA engine failures I have seen have been pretty castrophic with a Conrod through the block! - But generally yes an NA will be more reliable than a TT becuase of the lower Heat and stress from no forced induction. Downsides Speed - You have to work them harder, whereas TT power is more effortless. They are by no means slow, but you will find yourself struggling against moden hothatches on the street and you will notice the power difference the most on the Motorway. Its the the lower Torque that is most noticable. Tunability - Not very tunable in comparison to a TT. It will cost thousands to get near to stock TT power and thats about max tuning limits of the engine. Image - The NA gets looked down on a lot, compared to the TT from both zed fans and other car owners, as you an see above. but....Best advice anyone can give is to go testdrive one for yourself !
  21. I know zemulator is very popular over there, but I would have thought the big powered guys would of gone for a standalone so they could ditch the MAF setup?
