  1. I suspect the AEM will get the highest votes from your list but there are more options than you have listed out there for the z32 Picking the most powerfull club cars for example - Mac_1 uses DTA Management CJ uses Link XLEM G2 John Dixon is installing the Emerald 3DK Machine's Pentroof runs the HKS F-con V pro
  2. I dont see the RB26 or the 2JZGTE (toyota in a Nissan :hurl: ) as a worthy upgrade over the VG, and I personally dont feel that a big lazy american V8 muscle is right for the Z32 either. Only worthy transplant in my eyes is the one of the Nissan VH/VK V8 units.
  3. Was'nt F&F Toyko drift the 3rd F&F ?
  4. LOL yeah, Im always getting moaned at for hogging the TV to watch a film that I already have on DVD
  5. 10w40 is the velocity Nissan specify for the 300zx. Cant comment on Mobil though, never used it, but any high quality 10w40 Semi-synthentic is recomended.
  6. Lexan/Plastic. Would require a fixed setup with no opening mechanism (with a little hatch so you can stick your arm out to pay at the McDonals drive-thru LOL) Not sure about MoT. You would'nt want that sort of setup on a car used on the road...well I would'nt.
  7. Not an upgrade no, just an alternative. In fact many of the aftermarket SMIC's are larger than some of the FMIC's. There are pro's and con's to both. Many prefer the looks of a FMIC, but they be a restriction to the Rad, fitment issues, have to relocate Oil cooler and there can be more pressure drop. Whereas SMIC's dont have the looks, but a high quality large set of SMIC's will provide more than enough Cooling for nearly any power setup.
  8. sorry, yeh, I meant Ibs.
  9. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0004874/ Have seen F&F , Riddick, Pitch Black, xXx, The Pacifier, Savng Private ryan (dont remember him in that though)
  10. Seen one Z32 supercharger setup before....with the Charger in place of the Aircon pump. Me and Paul@swz looked into this for his Convertable at first. We then Turbocharged his NA engine (as above), but a loose oil feed on the motorway put end to that motor...and he has since dropped in a full TT lump instead. I believe lymon has a z32 with a turbocharged NA engine.
  11. Have you seen them on AMZ - http://www.amzperformance.com/product_info.php?cPath=11&products_id=2205 AMZ refuse to sell to anyone that does'nt have a 10-point cage fitted on a track only car. Ofcourse you can tell them what they want to hear though, but it concerns me enough not to fit them. I'd love to have some made in Aluminium or similar with support bars, or perhaps another option is getting some side impact bars fitted to the Escort doors. It would add some weight but they would still be considerably lighter than standard. Standard doors are something like 70-80kg each
  12. Depends on if you went for new parts of used, and if you were doing labour yourself or paying somebody. All the required used parts could be obtained for around £500. If you wanted to get the tubs reconditioned before fitting then double that. Labour at a garage would be £750-£1000 I would imagine. You would need Manifolds, tubs, Intercoolers, Pipework, ECU, Injectors, Sump and some oil&water piping. The NA engine wont be able to take much more than 7-9psi boost becuase of the higher compression and weaker pistons, but that will give you over 300 horses. If your after really big power then I would just drop in a TT engine with suitable upgrades. Its a very popular conversion in the U.S Rear Diff - The NA has a differnet rear differential with a Higher gear ratio. It gives quicker acceleration, but lower top speed, so a car with 300hp and a NA diff will be quicker than one with 300hp and a TT diff (apart from losing 20mph of the top end....165mph or so still attainablen and will get there quicker)
  13. Cheapest/simplest method is to bolt on a pair of TT manifolds, turbos and intercoolers to your NA engine. Run around 7psi boost and it will have more power than a standard TT running 9psi becuase of the higher compresson ratio, as well as the benefit of improved acceleration from the NA rear diff ratio.
  14. the Z32 & VG are not really suitable for a Single turbo setup. As far as Im aware there has only been a couple of successfull converisons (in the U.S). The main problem is room for a exhaust balance tube to connect both manifolds. Whats the reasons behind wanting a single setup anyway ? The VG is essentially 2x 1.5 litre engine and is best suited to a turbo for each bank rathe than a single feeding both sides.
  15. I really wanted some of these myself. But you must have a Full roll cage for safety and structual rigidy and I really dont want to have to go down the full cage route. Also concerned about fitment quality and the overall rigidity of the doors as they say they wont even take the weight of the stock glass and you must use lexan windows. Great for a Stripped out Race setup only, but not really suitable for any road use.
  16. Excellent...I really live Silver Zed's and an even brighter silver would look fantastic
  17. Yep, under 5 secs is to be expected with 1 bar boost I recorded a 4.7secs on my old TT, and the 0-100mph dropped from around a stock 14secs to high 11 secs with the boost increase.
  18. Sounds great ! Look forward to some progress pics. Are you staying with the Nissan silver ?
  19. Great meet. Lovely weather for it  Sorry I had to rush of early without notice while on-route to Falmouth, I had a phone call from the Missus on the way.. Hope the rest of meet was good. Made me really wish I had my zed on the road and at the meet :( ..next time! :) Some pics :
  20. A GM TH400 - A 3-speed Autobox that used just for Dragging on a Z32
  21. Have fitted a couple of the ebay FMIC kits on other zeds. The quality of the kits themselves were fine, the Hose clamps were rubbish and had to be replaced. Cant comment on performance. The Ebay SMICs are great value, and have a total volume of nearly double standard and aluminium end tanks, but they are still a fair bit smaller than other versions, and the charge areas is'nt that much larger. They are a definate improvement over stock though and seem to be a decent upgrade on stock turbos. The Z1 motorsports SMIC is a good price and they are pretty big IC's - They are currently on offer at $595 + $100 UK shipping
  22. They replied to this thread  :p

  24. They are new to the market, from a budget manufacturer - so you'll get mixed and reserved opinions but they have been getting good reviews.
