  1. Terminal velocity is dependent on the Frontal area of the falling object and Air Density its falling within. In the full dive position (very small frontal area) within lower density atmosphere from very high altitude the Terminal velocity is FAR greater than that of a human in regular free fall.
  2. They are made to fit Mx3 lights. (not Mx5)
  3. Its most comparable to the GT2560R / GT28R / Z1 GT600R / T28BB
  4. You pretty much just the described the VG. You'll find the same sort of claims for the VG, there are a number of high powered stock internal motors in the states. Although in my experience most Supra's claiming to be at 600hp are actually nowhere near it, and the only Supra I've personally known with standard internals that was genuinely putting out 600 horses only lasted about a month, and went through several very expensive rebuilds before the owner got fed up and just dropped a V8 in it with pair of tubs instead.
  5. Use Captcha's on account sign up, it wont stop all, but it will stop the majority
  6. I fabricated a new set of seat rails from a set of generic "low height" sliders and the floor mounts from the stock seat rails. You need to use the stock floor holes. They are raised up and reinforced in those areas. Bolting elsewhere would be through thin sheet metal.
  7. The Z locks are piss poor, especially as they get older and the pins wear. You can usually get into most Z's with any Z key.
  8. There are Z's with over 300k miles on stock engine AND stock turbos.... ...but then you'll find plenty with replacement turbos, headgaskets or rebuilds with under 100k "showing" on the clocks. Its all about how its been maintained, driven and with a sprinkle of luck over its lifetime.
  9. I have a 330mm, I cant see the speedo between 50 and 120mph or the RPM above 3000, and thats with me in a aftermarket seat that sits lower than standard. It would be even worse in the stock seats. It feels fantastic but I will be changing it to a 350mm.
  10. R33 and R34 rears are the same and a straight fit. Its only the 350Z rears that are not at all a straight fit, and would not advise.
  11. No, the DVLA only holds a record of the Main base colour (and even then is often incorrect, especially on imports). You may want to notify your insurance company though.

  14. around 10% out would be fairly normal. Stock Speedometer system is pretty poor quality in the Z, and adding any form of after-market kph>mph converter would only make it worse.

This is tomorrow. Do we have a list of those going ?
  16. Im pretty sure the Top set are standard 99spec lights ands its just the lighting and angle of pic. The version on tomomontana car are converted 89-98 stock lights. You take them apart and repalce the coloured lenses with the clear perspex strips.
  17. Just noticed the m27 bit. Stock 300zx turbo's wether Auto or Manual use M24 housings. If one set are labelled at m27 then they are not stock 300zx turbos.
  18. Check the housing for an additional number - 0.63 for manual, 0.54 for auto.
  19. Thats exactly one of the symptoms of the issue. It all depends how its catching. If you've checked it then fine, but if not its certainly worth checking. Otherwise its a case of getting in the footwell and checking the pedalbox for binds.
  20. RPS - Probably the most popular and highly regarded range of Clutches available for the Z. Their not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Im not aware of Luke/Zcentre ever selling RPS, or having any technical experience/knowledge of Z parts. Jim wolf technology = JWT, which as Smithy said are long established in the U.S. Never used any of their products though.
  21. More than likely this is the cause : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?55080-Zed-tried-to-kill-me-!
  22. If the Slicktop was a TT or the 2+2 was a Manual then it would be an easier decision. The obvious choice for most people will be the 2+2 becuase its a TT, but they are perhaps a little too quick to rule out the NA Manual slicktop, because they have no experience of one. Its about 170kg lighter than the 2+2 TT and only about 40hp (and 60Ibft torque) down on the TT (The TT Auto only puts out 263hp stock) and with a more efficient drivetrain and more responsive engine. Which means its almost as quick in a straight line but certainly quicker through the twisties and a lot more fun.....plus a little more economical and reliable. Although I'd personally recommend holding out for a Manual TT, but go test drive them anyway and see which you prefer.
  23. Agreed, Halfords Professional stuff is good for the money.
  24. Its a different tweed to the Import. Series 2/3/4 had the Alcantara/Suede Grey material with leather seats , or the more blue tinted cloth with cloth seats.
  25. lol ok good, its better for me to say, just in case. Yes, all looks good. Warped head, cracked/broken rings and Badly damaged pistons are other causes. The latter 2 indicated by extremely low/zero readings. Overheating, losing water and over-pressurised cooling pipework are other common indications of Head gasket/warped head issues.
