'Heavy' steering
The Speed sensor is a common failure item. First thing to check should be this : http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?126425-Tech-tip-Speed-sensor

Sadly - Another One Bites The Dust
Sad to see. Was a lovely Z and had been owned by Paul in the club for a long time.

Hi Cas elimination - what is the advantage of this?
Some people delete due to reliability issues with the system (worn racks, worn arm joints, sensor problems), others delete because they dont like the way it feels. The Hicas system is a driver aid and it interferes with the driver input under "very spirited" driving. Many owners don't even notice it on the road....or don't have experience of the system on or off to know the difference. If you have no issues with the system either in terms or reliability or how it feels then there is no reason for you to remove it. On a Track oriented car its one of the first things to be changed, mainly because the handling is more predictable on the limit without the hicas, it also quite a bit lighter without, especially if you go the NA subframe route, which has other benefits in terms of drive ratio. I've done this a lot for other owners that were unsure about wether they wanted to replace it or not. Just wire a switch inbetween the PAS fluid feed. Very quick and simple to do. In order to effectively see a difference there mustn't me any play in the system at all (and quite often there is).

Just picked up a familiar Z
A great choice. Welcome to 300zx ownership. Its all downhill from here :p

Spot the problem...
Graphs are comparing them against aftermarket Spitfire coilpacks (been around along time, well regarded), so its just showing that they perform as well as spitfires, but cost much less. I was'nt aware of these, had a quick google, lots of mixed opinions on them in regards to reliability across various other forums.

Alarm choices
Another vote for Toad. The Toad Ai606 in particular seems to be one of those alarms that does its job, and does it well.

putting reg plate in front window
A producer is a document the police give you that states you must have the fault rectified and inspected by an Mot tester within 7 days. The Mot tester then stamps and signs the producer document to say its been sorted and you must hand it in at a police station.

max power for autobox
Its difficult to give it a power rating. Too many factors, mostly in relation to current condition and how long you then expect it to last. But the autobox is the weakest and most unreliable part of the 300zx.....at standard power!

putting reg plate in front window
Had an issue with Petrol Stations in the past. They refused to activate the pump as no Plate was displayed (even though it was in window), had to get it out and hold it out for them too see before they would turn pump on.

Zedworld October IMPORTANT Announcement
Im Sorry to hear Jeff. What are your plans with Zedworld from here on, continue to look for new buyers or stick to your original plan of slowing business down to closure ? It would be sad to lose such an Important business within the Z community, but you have to look out for your family first.

A/C fan
The Fans main purpose is as a backup auxiliary fan for the cooling system, and its secondary purpose is as an AC fan. These are the scenario's in which the 2-speed TT fan will operate : A/C off, coolant temp below 104c = fan off A/C off, coolant temp above 105c = fan on A/C on, vehicle speed A/C on, vehicle speed A/C on, vehicle speed > 25mph, coolant below 104c = fan off A/C on, vehicle speed > 25mph, coolant above 105c = fan on Note the operating temperatures ! With a properly functioning cooling system in UK weather, the AC fan should never really operate. The only time it should ever come on would be during one of our Summer heatwaves if you are sitting in traffic for an extended period.

Genuine Nissan JDM Grille
Always MJP for OEM parts. But yeah as Dougal said, most either don't use it or they use aftermarket mesh, which is a LOT cheaper. If you do decide to use aftermarket, dont use fine mesh.

Fuel economy hero!
Just a small note on Fuelly.com (and other online mpg figures) You have to watch for the country of origin due to the difference in the size of the US gallon and the British Imperial gallon. ie. 20mpg in the U.S is equivalent to around 24mpg UK.

Im never a fan of that bumper, but you have pulled it of very well. The black centre works well. Look forward to seeing it with new wheels on.

JAE 2013 Annual Club Awards
Think I might have you beat on that one, although mine is only half primer.

Erm not sure what Nissan was thinking here
I think its the red plastics and dashboard pieces in particular. Red leather can look great in my opinion, especially in a black car. But I generally dislike any plastics other than black. My Z had the rare Blue Factory interior originally, which I entirely replaced as soon as I got it.
