  1. What year (or series) is your NA ?. Its possible the narrower 17mm was replaced by Nissan to be the same as the TT version as standard in a later series. I dont recall which year that 17mm one came off, but I would imagine a Series 1.
  2. Good job guys. Sorry to see about the little off James, luckily the damage was not too bad. I hope to be able to make it out to one of the future time attack events.
  3. 2. The stick is not shorter, just the throw. ie. It will sit the same height as stock, but it require less movement to get it in gear. This also has the effect of requiring more force from you to change gear. In theory the shorter throw means you can change gear quicker...in practice it can make gear changes more difficult and end up being slower. It will also make any gearbox syncro issues more apparant. A lot of owners go back to the standard shifter after fitting a short-shifter.
  4. Welcome aboard
  5. I wish I could make this. Have fun everyone, and good luck to those competing.
  6. The Torsional Stiffness is relative to the diameter to the 4th power. (2nd moment of Intertia). The outer surface does the bulk of the work. In relative terms, based on a 2.5mm all thickness, a 26mm Diameter hollow would have approx the same stiffness as a 24mm Solid tube - Taking into account the same material use. Materials properties matters too, the shear modulus of steel differs by its carbon content and heat treatment processes. Im not familiar with the different steels used between the stock bars and aftermarket, but its a potential factor. But when it comes to an Antirollbar, the length of the connecting arm has a significant affect. The example used in my picture is non adjustable, but typically you can alter the moment acting on the shaft with adjustable antiroll bars, with different mounting holes on the connecting arm, allowing to to have the same affect of reducing or increasing torsional stiffness. This is the big selling points of Uprated Adjustable anti-roll bars.
  7. I couldnt say for sure right now...it was a good 5 or 6 years ago now that I looked into ARB's and took that pic. However, Solid vs Hollow doesn't make much difference - the greater torsional rigidity is a product of the larger diameter.
  8. Unless you car is late 95 or newer, then it has to be tested a catalytic converted equipped car. Pre-95 your fine, as explained by redwine300.
  9. You have the AIV's and the Air resevoir tanks for the manual clutch booster in the inner wings.
  10. Most high-end Performance production cars utilise either Brembo or AP racing calipers, often rebadged with the Vehicle logo. I have AP Racing 6pots. If you were to find a set of AP Racing brakes of another vehicle, I could very easily draw up my 300zx brackets in 3D CAD for people to get produced, for anyone interested. ? Its a also worth noting that if you find any aftermarket brake setups for the Skyline R32/R33/R34 , 200SX or 350z then they all share the same Fitment and can be easily fitted to the 300zx without any different bracket hardware.

  12. Congrats Noel, and an excellent step forward for the Club.
  13. It will be worth it in the end ! The car is renowned in Z circles all over the world as having the most impressive engine conversion around.
  14. Whats going on with your old account and its 20k odd posts ?
  15. Not if it would damage the car in anyway, no.
  16. Sorry to hear about the piston issues John, but look forward to seeing it on the road again.
  17. All TT's are 3.692 All NA's are 4.08 The TT uses a R230 VLSD, and the NA uses a R200 VLSD. (both shortnose) The subframes, driveshafts, propshaft flange and hubs all differ between TT and NA (ie. You cant fit a TT diff in an NA or vice versa, without swapping all the rest out too)
  18. I would be surprised if there was an actual law against them, specifically. Great for show use. When the plate is showing then its just a plate holder. Its if you were caught on the road with the plate hidden that there would be an issue, ofcourse.
  19. Agreed. Not been for a few years, but hope I can make it this year. For the record: Im always cool and relaxed :p
  20. Sorry I missed that, I was under the impression you had comittee rights also. But still, Your personal feelings come out in every post you make on the subject, and what you are saying here is that some members not liking him is worse than ripping members off.
  21. You claim the ban of Funkysi was not personal and was due to other members complaints but he will never be allowed to return, then you want to re-instate Big Jim, a member that was banned for ripping other members off, because you like him !?
  22. All the best for the future Jeff, for you and your family.
