  1. You need the Pod and ECU. The ECU lives in the drivers footwell, to the left of the clutch pedal. 5"x3" Black box with 3 connectors.
  2. New - MJP (see traders section) 2nd hand - Put a wanted thread up, or speak to Zedworld.
  3. Very Nice Craig, glad you've finally got what seems to be a very decent Z.
  4. Cant decide if its a Kaminari spoiler or not. The Kaminari wont be to everyones tastes, but many do love it, its just that the version in the pics above looks even more oversized than the Kaminari usually does. Bomex also do a similar design, but a little squarer.
  5. Its all going to depend on the sort of mapping the car has had - What fuel it was mapped on and how aggressive the mapping was. If mapped aggressively on high octane fuel to get the best possible performance out of the car, then its likely to have detonation issues with lower octane fuel compared to one thats has been mapped with a higher safety margin or mapped on lower octane fuel in the first place. For regular (95 ron) and probably super unleaded (97ron) But Shell V-power (99ron) is produced separately, and only from the Stanlow refinery in Cheshire and only to Shell V-power stations.
  6. sorry, yes I was wrong. Had a bit of a google and it seems that its only free providing your sending payment from your PayPal balance. If it has to take funds from a card then it charges fee. There is also no Buyer/seller protection available (ie. You can not make any disputes) if sending payment as a Gift. Amazingly there appears to be no information on the PayPal site about the Gift option.
  7. Gift just means that you pay the fee's instead of the standard way of the person your sending it too paying the fee's !
  8. its the 2 built in fog lights I dislike on the UK bumper. With Jap models the standard procedure is to convert a reverse or brake light bulb into a dual function fog light, therefore comptely invisble. Although, in reference to the number plates, the 300zx was actually designed for the Square plate, and its the UK version that is the after thought.
  9. Your looking at 1500 approx for a Manual conversion. I would recommend an Import over a UK car. Around 80% of Z's here are Imports. Ofcourse each car should be accessed individually but in general UK cars suffer badly with Corrosion and are typically higher mileage, whereas Imports tend to be like new underneath, especially those that have only been here a few years. I personally also prefer a lot of the import specific differences - Front fogs, no ugly headlight washers, Z badge instead of Nissan badge, nicer Rear bumper, Electric folding mirrors, 3rd brake light .....etc. Uk cars have the advantage of MPH clocks, Rear Fogs, Larger oil cooler, 3point rear belts in the 2+2 - But all of these are straight forward to change on Jap models anyway. It also depends on which model your after. UK models are only available as TT 2+2(LWB) Targa, whereas Imports have all variations available - TT, NA 2+2(LWB) , 2+0(SWB) Targa, Convertible, Slicktop
  10. http://www.fancyplates.com/ Working fine for me.
  11. I dont mind the WW Rear, but if you wanted to change then go Jap stock. The UK rear isn't as nice.
  12. 12" rears , nice. Same as Zogg I believe. Lot of money.
  13. Nice example, but there have many different Strosek kitted Z's, inc black ones, on here ever since I can remember. I reckon the PS pics may actually be of Zelda (well known ex-members car), but with his wheels photoshopped on.
  14. Spend the most you can on Front components. a 6.5" mid with seperate tweeter. Everyone has a favourite brand - Infiniti Kappa, Diamond Audio, Phoenix gold ..etc but any of the big brands (pioneer..etc) top of the line stuff is decent quality. Mount the mid in stock location, and fit the Tweeter at the top of door card. Most can be flush mounted for an OEM look. You'll let them deal with all your Mid and high tones, while the amplified sub handles your Bass.
  15. Put the sub in the boot. I know of one in a Vert with a 12" in the boot and the bass carried through really well. No need for rear speakers, just stick to quality fronts, but if you insist then I also know of a vert with the speakers exactly where you mentioned, but he turned the Panel upside down and recovered it, so it gave him more depth for the speakers beneath. Apache's old Z has one of those slimline Subs with built in Amp sitting on top of that panel also.
  16. no. There is a hole, but its not threaded, and the metal is just a single 2mm sheet. You have to weld in a reinforced plate with threaded nut on the underside. What I did was to use some of these FIA Approved harness belt mounts, and cut them down to a suitable width. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIA-Approved-Back-Plate-Harness-Seatbelt-Fixing-Mount_W0QQitemZ280469280646QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item414d459786 The bottom threaded hole is there btw, its just the top B-pillar one thats an issue.
  17. Cheers guys. I've had a fair bit of experience with Industrial leases, spent quite a while visiting Motor Trade premises and negotiating with agents a while back, and yeh finding premises that would actually allow Motor trade use was a problem. This time its for personal use, I guess what Im looking for is something like what Murt has, an empty "Barn". I'll try "rent a ramp" too. I shouldn't of given in to the Missus.....our old house had a big double garage and massive parking area,I think there was a house too.......but she wanted something "nice" and "modern", so ended up with no garage, a shared driveway and lots of magnolia. Grrrr :/

  20. Anyone got experience of renting a Garage/workshop space ? - Where/how would I find one available and what sort of costs ? Not after anything like an Industrial unit, they are all longterm leases, too big and subsequently too expensive. But after something more extensive than your typical single car garage. no idea where such things are advertised.
  21. I've assisted with an engine-in Headgasket replacement, done as an experiment to see how it compares - its not worth the extra hassle !
