LED Rear Fog Light
A bit extreme that and you must be stark raving mad to do it but admittedly an option  I have attempted option 3 just on the bench messing and found the filament bulbs were 'kissing' or very near to each other inside the chamber but with stumpier led bulbs for both the reverse and fog this will not be a problem and will also help keep the heat down  this is actually a good balanced way of dealing with the jdm fog light issue.

Spotted!! Zed on Claimed and Shamed.
On watching this BBC program I couldn't help noticing a certain vehicle in the background, just watch it from 1.30 in and it's 4.40 when you'll see it - it doesn't appear again. Herne Bay in Kent was the location so do we know who's it is? http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01nmdh7/Claimed_and_Shamed_Episode_7/

Socketed Turbo ECU Earth Wire?
UPDATE : I have now paid AndyP for the chip I am keeping out of the three 555's he kindly sent, I think it was very good practice for him to do this and for me to then report back to him with no mention of cost at all, keeping ultimately one which turned out to be compatible for my specific modified Z, of course the 'rejected' two are being returned. The chip I am keeping was tested this morning from cold and it was again without fault :cool3: Extremely happy with him, his product and swift service and comms, cannot praise highly enough. Have some rep bud and thanks again

Socketed Turbo ECU Earth Wire?
Right Andy thanks for your post but I don't need another ECU. I could not extract the broken bolt thread so I re soldered and put a thicker wire on and attached the ring spade end to the ECU body, so very happy there with a solid ground. Put my working original chip in first this afternoon and it worked just as before my tinkering. For your information AndyP sent me 3 chips to try, all 555's and my spec list is in my garage. I first put in the Devlin 555, seemed to work fine until I asked a bit more from it and would not boost beyond 8psi. This chip could well have developed a fault from when I tried yesterday. Next, the one marked Z32m 555, yesterday with the dodgy earth the engine would not fire up, today it did but the idle was hunting up and down, didn't feel happy with trying this chip out further. At this stage I was thinking I am going to end up where I started in sticking with my original. Finally I fit the one marked 555 auto? (I have a manual!!), car was happy as soon as it started up, idled perfectly so went off to give it some legs, the odd bit of giving it some beans I thought mmmmmmm. As soon as I had some open safe road down the pedal went, the car took off and carried on giving and then the turbos came in........suuuupppeeeeeeeerbbb......the car took off again, I shouted out loud FFS as I was rocked back in my seat :cool3: Totally adore this chip and finally my summers upgrades done by Lee Dent are unleashed as the performance is truly amazing, it just gives and gives and gives. I now have a proper car   Please AndyP update me on what this chip is and then pm me your paypal address for payment bud as this chip I am a keeping as this pic proves...all bolted in

close to giving up!!!
It's no biggy and I am sure will be blatantly obvious bud, make sure you only ever use a 10 amp though, don't be tempted to 'cure' it by going bigger

Socketed Turbo ECU Earth Wire?
My original chip, not one of yours Andy should be working so at this minute I conclude that all my findings with your chips are not reliable, I will update in due course. Tomorrow I shall remove the blob of solder and try and get the broken bolt thread out of it's hole and mend this properly before I can move on. Just thinking ahead, if need be have you a turbo manual socketed ecu you could send me please :cool3:

Socketed Turbo ECU Earth Wire?
Just been out and looked at it and there should be screw where the solder is, it looks like the head as fallen off it and the thread as remained in the hole, someone as then bridged the earth over to the outer casing hole :confused1: Is this 'bridge wire' therefore necessary? If you look carefully the top corner bolts are part of the pcb, the others are not.

Socketed Turbo ECU Earth Wire?
A better picture Andy? It's not bad is it, just a big blob of solder on the underside corner opposite the socket with this weedy wire coming out of it :confused1:
-
Socketed Turbo ECU Earth Wire?
The wire was heading that way to be twisted round the screw but what a poor way of connecting up - is everybody's like this :confused1: I will find out tomorrow if this connected makes any difference to how the car performs as today it was awful, running like a pig, no power, boost, etc :mad2:

hi evy1 need sum help with my 300zx twin turbo
Too subtle it seems

Socketed Turbo ECU Earth Wire?
Thank you AndyP for sending me 3 x chips for me to try :cool3: On trying them all today I am now struggling with the chip that was known working at the start of the day :mad2: Is this wire not helping? It was frayed badly and any exposed wire as now fallen off, does it need ring spading up and connecting properly under the casing cover screw bolt?
-
Ok Who was it !! .... Bidding against me on the 300zx N/A
This car is back on ebay :confused1: gives me chance to have a look at it now :cool3:

17's or 18's on a SWB? - Reigniting the debate! - Pics inside!
Mine as 17's very similar to yours and although I get ribbed on a lowered SWB they look fine. I am going to put some 18's on this week to see if they take my breath away, if not I am sticking with 'em. Suggest if yours was lowered, particularly the rears the look will improve further, also a spacer on the fronts :cool3:
