  5. Gusset! In the Aircraft Maintanace manuals at work it often asks you to 'Lube the flange prior to insertion' Outstanding!
  6. What make are they Bud? And how much?!
  7. I would love to but they are way out of my price range. What about these? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=80654 Any good? I'm just after something that is better than the stock one!!
  8. Yip! I use Methyl Ethyl Ketone at work. Evil stuff but cleans things up a treat, ready for sticking! Dangerous though.
  9. Hello everyone I'm after a water temp gauge but haventg a clue which one to get. I fancy blue lighting but its not vital. And also dont want to pay silly money! So... Which and where? Thanks Andrew :p
  10. They might have antiseptic properties which could affect the adhesion. The purer the better!
  11. A solvent should do the trick. Nail polish remover is good. Remember to test it on an out of sight area first!
  12. Yeah I really miss the storms from back home! Cant beat a nice tropical downpour on a hot afternoon!
  13. Thanks again!
  14. Thanks so much for the help, gonna try it tomorrow. Could I pick you're brains again on MSN tomorrow perhaps?! Any chance you have a 98 disc?! I've tried an XP one but nowt happens. Thanks again for the help ANdrew
  15. Hey thanks very much, I'd like to take you up on that offer. :D May mean my b#ll#x wont get strung up! Pins are fine, not pushed completely out. If the drive is empty, how far would the laptop boot up?
  16. Replaced the drive and went into the BIOS setup. The computer knows its there. If the drive was damaged and there was no info on it, would you expect to see the symptoms I've got?
  17. Well.... Its my girlfriends laptop and was working fine until I removed the HD. :slap: I can see 2 of the pins on the motherboard side of the connector have been pushed in slightly. Stripped it last night but cant seem to correct them, however I cant see how they are NOT making contact. Ive tried to boot it with the HD removed, says ' Primary hard disk 0 not found' Thing is, I have a laptop so am unable to check the HD. Will see if some one at work can do it. What do you mean by POST? Thanks for the help!
  18. Mega! The one I have is a Hitachi 6.01GB, 2.5inch. It sits in an adapter tray. Sorry but I'm useless when it comes to computers! Would I need a Windows disk to see if the new (refurb) HD works? Laptop currently has Win98 installed. I turn in the laptop and get the Dell splash screen, then just a flashing cursor in the top left corner. Any ideas? Thnaks!
  19. Cheers Bigdave Besides Fleabay, where could I get a second hand HD. Its really old, only 6Gb!!
  20. Thanks Andy Are laptop HDs generic with regards to the connections?
  21. Can I use a multimeter continuity tester on the hard drive connection on my laptop. I need to see if the HD is making contact with all the pins in the main PCB. The laptop knows the HD is there, but wont boot from it. The HD light only flickers when turned on. So, can I use a continuity tester without damaging anything Thanks Andrew
  22. And, I was on in Army barracks last month that didnt have enough money for cleaning products to clean the bogs. Cos all the money goes to the scum. Like Craig David said.
  23. People like him make my blood boil! My girlfriend, who has just graduated with a 2.1 degree can find a job. She saved up for Uni by herself, got the smallest of student loans and held a 34hr job for the 3 years she was at uni. She was made redundant in June and hasnt found a job since. She told me the LAST thing she'd ever do is sign on. Its a matter of pride and not wanting to associate with the scum in the dole queue! I'm standing by her on this decision even though its hard as I have to pay her rent and some bills. But when people just take money from the govenment for doing nothing, ARRGHH!!!!!!! No better than the thousands of illeagels in this country. Rant over
  24. Yeah, I was toying with the idea too. Not gonna start a Auto vs Manwell debate but I kinda like the auto. Ever thought about Shift At Will? http://www.ess-racing.com
