  1. Got the album!! It rocks! I'm so impressed, so glad they havent lost their awesome sound. I like the little piece at the end on the booklet, Performed artfully by: Jimmy Chamberlin, Drums and Billy Corgan, All the rest! Listened to is loads already, going in the car for the drive to work in the morning too. Bring on Reading Festival! :smash: :smash: :smash:
  2. Yeah, the fuel absorbs water if left for too long. Also, check you are using the correct glow plug, they have different temp ranges. Have you been onto the HPI site? They have great vids to help with seting up etc. I have an HPI MT2. Used in in Bosnia in the winter, with that cold dense air, I got 59mph out of it! Then I totalled it as the brakes arent that good! :headvswal Got another one now though. :D
  3. I have but I doubt I would make any money after paying for its rent.
  4. Thing is, I'm in a 1 bed flat with no drive or garden. So once its stripped I will have a Zed in bits but no where to put it! Just wondering what sort of money changes hands if I sell it to a breaker? Or if some one wants it as a project!
  5. Evening all I doubt I'll be able to sell my car in its current condition and can afford to repair it. Needs new front bumper Head gasket VVT spring Needs alternator Leaking from power steering pipe Leaking from rear cam seal. The leaks are more of an annoying drip. Rusty sills and i spot of rust on each targa Thing is, the gear box is still strong as it has just been reconditioned and the engine is great apart from the fact the HG has gone. No smoke or water in the oil, just combustion gasses in the coolant, which forces coolant out after a long drive. Up until the alt went I drove it every day and the only thing I needed to do was keep an eye on the coolant level. Still pulls like a train! So... obviously there are breakers on here but... How much can I expect to get for the car if they break it for me? I know they have to pay for the dismantling process, just wondering if any one on here has gone down that route? I cant break it as I dont have the space or the time unfortunately. Any advice would be great Thanks! Andrew
  6. Yeah I read that the Mondoeo was a good drivers car. I do like the top spec ones actually!
  7. Awesome! Going to try and find it online tonight. I still remeber when the first single from Machina was played in the radio. Simply fantastic! Aparrantly James isnt in the line up
  8. Great! Thanks for your replies chaps. I'm after one because 1, I think it looks lovely. 2, I can fit all my riding stuff in it with out taking my bike apart! 3, Nice healthy MPG and because of its GADGETS! Need a car to eat up the motorway miles. I know the Mondeo is a v good car but it puts me to slep by just looking at it. New Accord is fantastic too but abit out of range of my wallet. Looking at a nice Initiale with all the bells and whistles. There are alot of bad reports about the French electrics but then hardly any one reports on all the GOOD points. Just like the Zed! Well thats what I'm telling myself anyway, LOL!
  9. Evening all I'm looking at buying a Laguna 2003 ish and wondered if anyone here owned one so I can get an unbiased opinion. Heard that the electrics can be dodgey but every car has its faults. Anything else I should look for? I've been on the laguna forum but its crap. http://www.renault-owners.co.uk/renault/index.php?showforum=13 Thanks in advance Andrew
  10. Yeah I have a multimeter, thought it'd do the same as a batt tester! Going to have a good look at the alt on Saturday, hopefully it is just a corroded wire or strap. Fingers crossed! Jack, where did you get your new alt from? MJP? Cheers!
  11. Excellent help, thanks!!! Will look into one of those testers.
  12. Cool thanks guys. What voltage should I expect to see across the batt terminals when the engine is running to say whether the alternator is charging the batt or not?
  13. Evening all When I started the zed last night I noticed the battery light didnt come on. I didnt think anything of it. Engine check light came on after the ign was on for a few seconds. The car started fine and I drove off, all was well. Managed to get away from all civilization and the HICAS light then about 30 secs later the ABS light. I know steering fluid is good. During this time the interior lights dimmed and windows/mirrors were VERY slow to move. Next light was the Auto box and then car stuttered and died. Wouldnt start immediatly but did start about half hour later. RAC got called out! I think it is the alternator, would I be right? Anything else to check? Please help!! Thank you! Oh yeah, I have done a search but didnt find anything
  14. Yeah, only because they are covered in brake dust!
  15. sumshiftyguy - yip that was me! Shumi not - yeah some beers would be good. Been ti the hop leaf a few times. Have you noticed that the hanging baskets havent been done this year?!! Nice beer though so not much of a drama! Funkyjunky - After we chatted at Morrisons I left my walet on the roof of the car... only to be found AFTER I had canceled all my cards. A copper found it on the Shinfield road
  16. Arrghh!!!!! Mines been broken into twice and Not_Shumi has had bits nicked off his. And thats in the last few months. Fooking chav scum I went through the bearkers, £70 delivered was the cheapest I got. I'm ace at fitting them if you need a hand!
  17. I know what you mean. The guy I used to work with in South Africa says the same. However my friend is a tool maker and he is making a mint. As an Aircraft Tech there are very well paid jobs out there but boy can it be boring! Same shite every day near enough. Bring back the burnt fingers, swarf in your hair and cutting fluid smell!
  18. Dont forget the gear knob!
  19. Excellent! So payment will be in beers then! Once I get all the components through I'll get some drawings sorted. I really really wish I continued my career as a machinist. Nothing beats the feeling of completing a piece, holding it up (burning your fingers) and admiring your own work!
  20. Brings my memories back too! I can still smell the cutting fluid to this day. That and Castrol R, mmmm! Gaz, I may have a little project for you in the near future... MarkW (used to be on here) and I are making some high power lights for night mountain biking and really fancy having the casings turned from a piece of Aluminium. Are you able to do this?? Nothing on paper yet but defo work for a manual lathe and perhaps a bit of milling. Thats if you do small one off projects and prototypes! Cheers Bud
  21. PS, anyone want to buy a front windscreen seal???!!!!! LOL!
  22. Dude, when did that happen?! My window was smashed last week and only yesterday I realised they took the strip that covers the screws on the centre console, above the radio. What the fook are these people thinking!!!! we should put some adverts in our windows for breakers yards etc so they dont have to nick our bits! I need a new windscreen too...
