Evening all

I'm looking at buying a Laguna 2003 ish and wondered if anyone here owned one so I can get an unbiased opinion. Heard that the electrics can be dodgey but every car has its faults. Anything else I should look for? I've been on the laguna forum but its crap.

Thanks in advance

Have a word with FunkySi as he's just bought one.

I never had a problem with my 'V' reg one in the four and a half years I had it.

Good car.

I'm sure all the supposed horror stories will come out though.

Had a 51 plate Dynamique, great car. Did 120k miles in 3 years with no problems. Think the rear suspension parts may of been replaced near the end, as I carry alot of weight in the boot.

Just found a pic of it.

Mine is a 2000 model, so my vote of confidence for them might not be ideal since you're wanting a MK2 and mine's a very late spec MK1.

I've been very happy with mine. Not a very exciting drive, but very comfy and smooth and it more than feels its brief as a comfy cheap and reasonably economical daily driver.

My old boss had one of the MK2 Lagunas from new. Had a few niggles with it, but on the whole, for a car that did over 100k, little went wrong on it and it never broke down. The problems he had were stupid, such as the locking wheel nuts seizing and the electric valve cap things breaking off.

Jimmer on here has a 2003 diesel and he's been very happy with it.

Nice cars to drive too. Smooth, modern looking etc.

I've never been a huge fan of French cars, but have owned 3 and they've been pretty good to me. Although I did blow up my £75 Citroen BX on the M4! LOL

got a 1994 2.0 rt 8v

bought it 5 years ago with 100k on the clock - 600 quid

now got 150k, i have changed the cam belt, battery, tyres and exhaust, thats it

very good car

I have a 05 plate mate, Excellent car IMO, does 644Miles on a full tank.

Great!

Thanks for your replies chaps. I'm after one because 1, I think it looks lovely. 2, I can fit all my riding stuff in it with out taking my bike apart! 3, Nice healthy MPG and because of its GADGETS!

Need a car to eat up the motorway miles.

I know the Mondeo is a v good car but it puts me to slep by just looking at it. New Accord is fantastic too but abit out of range of my wallet.

Looking at a nice Initiale with all the bells and whistles. There are alot of bad reports about the French electrics but then hardly any one reports on all the GOOD points. Just like the Zed!

Well thats what I'm telling myself anyway, LOL!

While waiting for my Laguna to be delivered, I had a Mondeo 2 litre zetec. To be honest that was a better drive, more fun on the twistys.

Yeah I read that the Mondoeo was a good drivers car. I do like the top spec ones actually!
