  15. I have an Autotechnic water temp gauge that didnt come with a sender and I'm buggers if I can find one. I'm going to try to out a res. in series to adjust the sender to match the gauge. Will have to get Conzult or a data cable to compare it to though. Any idea if this definitly wont work?!
  16. Depends on the gauge you want to use. The sender unit has a set resistive range for the different temps, if it doesnt match the gauge, it wont show the correct temp. Putting a variable res. in series to adjust it might work, providing the change in resistance is linear. If its logorithmic it wont work either as it will be 'out' at either end of the scale. HTH!
  17. http://www.aus300zx.com/tech/H-light_conversion.doc You gave me the link in the first place!! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=58562
  18. When you flash your high beams it turns off your dips momenterly. HIDs dont like being turned off and on quickly as they need a 'start' period to warm up. The relay just keeps the dips on when you turn on the high beams. Doesnt take long to do at all, just need another blue Nissan relay and a 100V 1Amp diode (25p) I'll look for the link you ya!
  19. And then wire in a relay so you can use the high beam safely. Just done mine, now I can flash without damaging my bits!
  20. LOL! I usually need a cold beer AFTER flying with them! However we have NEVER EVER smuggled beers back from Bosnia and we NEVER hid them in the rear avionics bay!! Shhh!
  21. When I was a fitting & turning appy, we polished the intake of a Mini Cooper (1275cc). After a run on a dyno it produced less power and torque than when compared to the same engine fitted with the non polished intake. The air leaving the carb was flowing TOO smoothly into the cyclinders. Needed the casting marks and the rough surface ffrom the sand casting to 'tumble' the air flow. Not sure how this relates to the head but I'm bored! Interested to hear if anyone elso agrees with the intake side of things though!
  22. Yip thats right! One or two bubbles are perfectly fine, lots of small bubbles are bad. Prob running low on freon. Had to learn all about the refrigarant cycle for this new fandangled Apache helicopter we got at work. Dont ask!
  23. And I'll be there with the rust, leaks and smoke! But I will be there!
