I don't think the function of the push button is connected to the auto type which locks out. Maybe its just the Japspec that has it and the UK decided to remove it.

I recall my first auto zed, turning the ignition off in neutral or in gear and spending 20 min trying to work out why the key was stuck.

The auto barrel has an extra locking mechanism to stop you removing the key when not in Park. If you have it converted and now running a manual box you should be ok.

That's it. The cable on mine snapped clean off right at the point it goes through the metal so i had to grab one off a breaker.

I had similar issue on my last zed and i also thought it was the pump, after checking out the small actuator on the steering rack it turns out to be a broken wire. The part itself is on the drivers side of the rack.

In all honesty, it looks like a paper weight and is likely too far gone to be worth salvaging. The cam shafts are exposed and the full thing looks as if its been stored at the bottom of the harbour.

To be honest i was thinking of calling you and booking it in for you to build. Already getting reservations about going any further as the bottom end assembly doesn't feel right. Can you PM me with an estimate of a full build, i have everything here and can ship it all down. I've gotten to a stage where i'm questioning everything i do and now i'm not comfortable doing any of it. This is the last time i'm every doing anything like this and if it doesn't work i'll just sell up or set fire to it all.

Its taken a long time coming to get all the parts together but i'm finally... Getting my engine assembled. Wiseco Pistons and Eagle rods at the ready, took me a good few hours to get them connected; Biggest peeve with putting the rods on the pistons was the cir-clips. Couple of hours later and with help from a proper wiseco piston installer all 6 were fitted in place. Whole crank and piston assemble rotates smoothly and i've added some oil to lube the cylinders up prior and after the pistons got installed.

Hi Luke, What kind of zed do you have, UK / JAP ? The wiring seems to change also depending on the year, maybe the previous owner tried to botch install the loom from another zed. Or it may be just a bad connection to the controls.

Only company i could find was 'Engine Parts UK' And i'm fair sure that i paid over the odds for them too.

Found a company yesterday and got a set delivered today. Should be able to start the build this weekend now. Happy Days ?

Don't think they sell the kind of bearings I need

Any UK based suppliers that can get bearings for the zed tt. Seems a general 2 month back order from the USA for all bearings no matter what the make.
