  5. I think there's def a diferance in shift capabilities between the short shift and oem, with the short throw shifter there is the timing of shifts which all depends on how well you can fully engage the clutch so if you have slight clutch issues then it will show more with the short shifter than the normal oem shifter. With both of my zeds even with the clutch fully engaged and trying to move through the gears you still need a slight force to move it and you can feel the shift more like a clunking sound as it goes into gear which I did like. The force needed on the short shifter is likely to do with the amount of leverage now required to move the shifter as apposed to the design of the oem model which as leverage goes requires less. All being the short shifter is good fun but it takes to get used to and if you want to use the short shifter for a quick change then you need to have a good clutch, a fast left foot and a strong left arm !
  6. The problem with both my zeds and there short shifters is that I like to do quick shifts between gears as I can at times be an aggressive driver and because of that I find the short shifter causes a few issues and it simply won't shift correctly.
  7. We all like a stiff shaft in a lady !!
  8. yeh, Its as if the shifter doesn't align proper and to get it in gear you have to throw it in ! In the long run i think it will do damage to your gear syncro as you end up forcing into gear.
  9. I have owned two zeds now for just under 2 years and today was the first time i've drove a zed with a normal shifter. When i mean normal i mean a normal manual with a standard oem shifter. My first zed was an NA with a short shifter and my TT was originally an auto but when doing the conversion i put a short shifter on as thats what i was used too. Well i was having some issues changing gears with the one fitted so i decided to hunt out the normal shifter i got from vody as part of a conversion kit and fit that instead. What a differance - simply couldn't believe how smooth the gears now change ! i took me a good hour or so to fit the oem back on due to being so fidly with the bolts and so but i finally managed it - o` and how much a pain it is when you drop a bolt or spanner down the tranmission tunnel. Anyways; glad i done it now and for any one who's thinking short shifter route - DONT !
  10. Happy Birthday Buddy !!
  11. All the best, mine failed last week after a poxy rear bulb blew, make sure you do some pre checks yourself!!
  12. Just bought myself a set of these and having some issues! First issue which I eventually resolved after two hours was getting the old recircs out, skinned knuckles and lots of blood I got that done. But, The problem I've now got is the fitting kit doesn't fit ! It comes with two metal stop plugs, two rubber hoses and two metal adapters that change the hose size up from the dump valve to the size of the pipe on the zed, to me it looks like there's two more hoses missing to connect the adaptor to the zed. Also the stop plugs are the same size as the holes to need two more hoses to join them together too. Are you suppose to use any of the old pipes ?
  13. Did you do a water bypass when the plenum was off?
  14. One thing to note with TPS that it can be a 30 day cycle time so don't expect to be off the lists within 24 hours!
  15. Wish I could buy I like my job and if I did it would be the end of it !
  16. Are you not supposed to leave the sealer to set for 24 hours too?
  17. So what did you remove or touch ?
  18. Lol, I can see both sides to these call centres that phone you as I myself work and control a dialler system for a call centre. Most call centres are outsourcers who work for other companies on there behalf, like ours who do outsource work for Scottish Power and even BT. Now the problem is if more than one centre is working for that company then if you ask them to remove your number it might take a while to filter the request to all the other call centres but most will say they will remove your number from there personal dialing lists.
  19. If your on about Internet explorer and both bits are missing then your likely in full screen mode! Just push f11 on the keyboard to go back to normal. If not then toolbars are turned off! If the top menu is hidden too then push the alt key forces the menu to show and then you can look for the toolbar menu to turn various bits back on.
  20. Mines a Turbo and pretty sure mines on the left passenger side too!
  21. 2 rubber and two sealant!
  22. And did you know dab is already an out of date technology! Satellite radio in the US is what's catching on now.
  23. Compared to a fart in a space suit yeh ! There does seem to be a boost of them in this area for some reason, when I bought mine I was the only one in my area that I knew about; but they seem to be on the rise again here.
  24. May be newer but not not really any better, mind they took a lot of good stuff away.
  25. There's 4 of us in Ayrshire alone who use the forums daily, so that's 5 zeds as I've got 2. But I know of another three in this area who never come on the forums so that's 8 !
